The chamber was bathed in soft, ethereal light. The Ancient One sat serenely on a cushion, her ageless eyes studying him as he approached.
"Adam," she greeted, her voice calm yet commanding. "Your progress has been... unexpected."
He bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Ancient One."
She gestured for him to sit. "Few have advanced as swiftly as you. Yet, your path is one I have not foreseen."
Adam frowned. "Not foreseen?"
The Ancient One's gaze intensified. "In all my visions of possible futures, your presence has been absent. You are an anomaly."
A chill ran down Adam's spine. "Is that... bad?"
"Not necessarily," she replied. "But it is unprecedented."
As the weight of her words settled, Adam felt a sudden surge within him—a resonance with the very fabric of time.
