Scene: Apartment
"Erza. We have a problem."
She was sprawled across the sofa like royalty, eyes glued to the TV, watching some drama with absolutely zero concern.
I stood in front of her like a teacher about to confiscate snacks.
"Erza, are you listening?"
"Mmhmm," she muttered, not blinking. "What is it this time? Ran out of toothpaste again?"
"No, it's serious. Fiona—My Ex- crush—she's starting to suspect you're not… you know… human."
She waved a clawed hand dismissively. "So? What's that weak human girl going to do? Kill me or kidnap me?"
I leaned in. "If she finds out the truth—about you, about Elena—we could be in massive trouble. The secret society, the government, shady labs… You want Elena getting kidnapped for research?!"
That got her attention.
She turned her head. Slowly. Her glowing eyes narrowed like a predator that just spotted prey.
"If anyone lays a finger on my daughter…" she said with terrifying calm, "I will burn this planet to ash. I will rip the skies open, drown cities in dragonfire, and personally feed every researcher to a hydra."
She paused, thoughtful.
"Then I'll adopt the hydra. Name it Muffin. Train it to sniff out lies. And set it loose in Parliament."
The lightbulb above us flickered. Somewhere in the distance, a dog howled.
I stood there holding a pillow like it could protect me from divine judgment.
"I… I was hoping for more of a 'Sure, I'll act normal and keep a low profile, darling' kind of answer," I said with the voice of a man currently dating an extinction-level event.
She gave me a sweet smile that sent chills down my spine.
"Of course, mortal. I shall act more... human."
My soul left my body and filed for asylum.
Inner Me:
This lizard just threatened global genocide, then went back to watching dramas.
I need to sleep with one eye open.
And maybe start prepping an apology letter to humanity.
Oh come on man
"I did say Yesterday that you can do whatever you want to Fiona," I muttered, grabbing my college bag,
"but now I'm seriously regretting those words."
I glance at clock only to realize, I am late for my Part time work.
"Okay, My Queen," I said with a teasing grin, "I'm heading to my part-time job. Do you need anything while I'm out? Snacks? Drinks? Chips?"
Erza didn't even look at me. "No need. I ."
But then, casually—almost too casually—she added, "Though… if you're going out, get ice cream. For me. And Elena."
I smiled wide. "Sure. Anything else?"
She narrowed her eyes. "Are you sick or something? What's with the weird smiling?"
"You'd never understand this feeling," I said with a soft chuckle. "But maybe one day you will."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now go. You're blocking the screen."
"Okay, My Queen, I'm—"
"Wait."
I stopped at the door.
She glanced at me, then quickly away. "Take care, mortal."
I froze.
Did she just… say that?
The coldest dragon in the realm just told me—a squishy human—to take care?
My brain was buffering.
Then she added, "Don't get the wrong idea. If you get squashed by a Truk or whatever, who's going to bring my ice cream? I'm not worried about you—just be sure the ice cream survives."
I anime-cried internally.
"Got it… I'll protect the ice cream with my life."
As I walked out, my heart light, I noticed the bushes near our apartment rustling suspiciously.
I narrowed my eyes.
"Probably a cat… or a ninja… or just life trying to mess with me again."
But I had work to do.
As I turned the corner and vanished from view, hidden in the bushes like a low-budget ninja—
Fiona.
She crouched there with all the subtlety of a rom-com stalker, whispering, "Target has left the building."
She stood up, brushed herself off, and casually walked to my apartment door like she hadn't just been lurking in shrubbery.
Outside Yuuta's Apartment – Late Afternoon
Fiona adjusted the tiny mic clipped inside her bag strap and checked the mini camera hidden in the pin on her dress.
"This is it," she whispered to herself, activating the recorder. "Today I'm going to reveal the truth. Yuuta's 'wife'... let's see who you really are."
Knock knock.
The door creaked open.
Fiona blinked.
There she was—Erza. Not a wrinkle, not a flaw. Porcelain skin, white hair that shimmered like snow under sunlight, and eyes that could burn through reality—violet flames wrapped in royalty.
Fiona's breath hitched for a second. Damn… she's gorgeous. Suspiciously gorgeous.
But she quickly composed herself and smiled like nothing was out of the ordinary. "Is Yuuta here?"
Erza replied coldly, "He's not. Do you want something?"
Fiona raised an eyebrow. "How rude. That's how you greet a guest?"
Inner Erza:
This brat… if it wasn't for Mortal sake, I'd drop-kick her into the shadow realme.
She sighed and forced a smile. "Fine. What do you want?"
Fiona kept her cool. "I'm just here to see Elena."
Erza crossed her arms. "Elena's sleeping."
"Sleeping? This early?"
Erza shrugged. "Yeah, you know, we drag—"
Her hand slapped over her mouth mid-word. Eyes wide. A slip.
Fiona's eyes gleamed. "Dragon what?"
"Nothing!" Erza snapped. "She's asleep. Don't disturb us."
But Fiona stepped forward just a bit. "Please, I'd like to talk. Just with you. I want to know you better…"
Inner Fiona:
One wrong move, and I'll catch it all on tape. You're hiding something, Erza. I'll prove it—even if I have to befriend you to do it.
Inner Erza:
She dares walk into my den with a plastic smile and a glittery spycam? This is an insult I will show this pathetic human.
Erza forced a smirk. "Fine. Come in."
As Fiona stepped inside, the temperature subtly dropped.
Erza whispered with a grin, "Let's get to know each other… very well."
Erza's in Kitchen – Hostage Tea Time
Fiona sat at the table, legs crossed, phone secretly recording (or so she thought). Erza, graceful as a queen and smug as a cat with a secret, poured the tea with a serene smile.
Erza: "Sugar?"
Fiona: "No thanks. I prefer my tea straight... like Yuuta."
Pause.
Erza blinked. Oh? We're going there already.
Fiona:
"So... you love Yuuta, huh?"
Erza didn't even blink.
"Yes. I love him. Deeply. Passionately. Eternally."
Then she sipped her tea like she'd just made a power move.
Fiona stared. "Okay. But where exactly did you two meet?"
Erza paused. "He came to my castle—"
Her eyes widened.
"I mean… my house. A totally normal, suburban, ground-based house."
Fiona leaned forward, eyebrow raised. "Right… and this 'marriage' you speak of? Where's the certificate? The rings? The wedding photos?"
Erza:
"Certificate? Photos?"
(Inner Erza)
Isn't mating and soul-bonding under a blood moon enough? Wait… humans need paperwork? Ugh. This tiny mortal is giving me a migraine.
Erza put the teapot down with a sharp clink.
"I love him. He loves me. That's all that matters. Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong."
Fiona (voice hardening):
"Maybe it's enough for you. But I know you're not what you pretend to be."I know who you are?.
Erza leaned back, unimpressed. "Oh? And what do you think I am?"
Fiona leaned in like a detective revealing the final clue.
"A dragon. Or a demon. Or some fantasy thing trying to play house with a human."
Erza gave a soft, slow smile.
"And if I were? Who would believe you?"
Fiona:
"I don't need anyone to believe me."
She reached into her bag with flair.
"Because I've got it all on tape. Hidden mic. Camera in my pin. You just exposed yourself."
She tapped her bag confidently, then pulled out the mic and camera—
Only to find melted circuits. Fried. Dead.
She blinked. "What the—?!"
Erza's voice dropped, a quiet storm.
Erza:
"Don't play with fire, little girl. You have no idea what I'm capable of."
Erza leaned in close, her voice a velvet whisper laced with threat.
"Never try your luck in front of me again. You have no idea who you're dealing with."
Fiona stared in horror. Erza's violet eyes glowed faintly—the same glow she'd seen that Easter day. The glow that screamed dangerous.
Fiona stood, about to run… but then she stopped.
"I'm not leaving," she said, trembling. "I will reveal the truth."
Erza blinked. "Reveal what, Fiona? That I made you tea?"
Fiona's eyes welled up.
"You stole him from me," she said, voice cracking. "Yuuta was the only one I ever cared about. You showed up from nowhere, all… perfect and magical and—not even human! And you act like it's nothing!"
Tears ran down her cheeks as her voice shook with rage.
"I loved him first."
Erza's face softened. Just for a moment.
But she sipped her tea calmly and said:
"Well... too bad. You should've confessed before I flew into his life."
Fiona sat there, tears streaming down her face, her heart split wide open.
But Erza didn't move. She didn't blink. She just stared with those cold, violet eyes, the warmth completely gone.
And then—
Erza (voice like ice):
"Listen carefully. I don't fall apart over emotions like you humans do."
Her tone was flat. Detached. Merciless.
"I don't care if you cry. I don't care if you scream. Or die. Or curse my name under the stars."
Fiona's breath hitched, but Erza continued without a flicker of hesitation.
"Just stay away from him."
She stood tall, like a queen casting judgment.
"You lost him. And that's the truth."
Her words sliced through the air like a blade.
"So mourn him if you must. Hate me if it helps you sleep. But don't stand in front of me and pretend you still have a chance."
A pause. A beat. One final blow.
"Because he was never yours to begin with."
Fiona was shaking in fear she fell in floor.
Yuuta's POV
Something feels off today.
I don't know what it is exactly.
The weather's fine, the café's quiet, customers polite enough… but still, there's this uneasy feeling clawing at the back of my mind.
I glanced at the clock.
Almost evening.
Is everything okay at home?
[End of chapter]
[Extra Scene – For My Loyal readers]
Evening settles gently over the apartment. A soft orange glow from the lamp paints the walls in warmth. Yuuta sits on the couch, a light blanket over his lap, notebook in hand. Elena is curled up beside him, clinging to her plush dragon with teary eyes.
Elena: "Papa…"
Yuuta: "Hmm? What's wrong, princess?"
She sniffles, hugging his arm tightly.
Elena: "Some people… they left the story halfway… They didn't even finish my part…"
Yuuta's heart sinks a little. He closes the notebook, giving her his full attention. He strokes her hair softly.
Yuuta: "Hey now… maybe they're just busy. Or maybe… something in the story didn't land right."
He offers a soft smile.
"But that's okay. We're still learning, right? We'll keep making it better."
He glances up, straight at you, the reader.
Yuuta:
"If you ever feel something's off, or you have thoughts… please don't hesitate to tell us. A little feedback from you helps us more than you know. A single line from you might shape an entire future chapter."
Elena: sniffling, hopeful "Really?"
She holds out her tiny pinky finger toward the reader.
"You'll stay with us, right? Promise?"
Just then, Erza walks in from the kitchen, arms crossed, pretending not to care—but the softness in her eyes betrays her.
Erza: coldly "If someone dares make my daughter cry again… I'll personally burn down the comment section."
Yuuta: "Erza…"
Erza: clears throat, looking away "...Or, you know, I'll try writing a better arc next time."
Elena: giggles through her tears "Mama is scary and sweet!"
Yuuta chuckles and kisses the top of Elena's head.
Yuuta:
"So, stick with us, okay? The drama, the chaos, the magic… and the love. It's all just getting started."
