Chapter 2: The Uchiha Bastard of the Hyuga Clan

"**Hyuga Wuye, I've been ordered by Lord Hokage to inform you.**"

The Anbu ninja quickly masked his initial shock, speaking in a detached tone: "**Your breakup with Uzumaki Kushina was handled excellently. Lord Hokage will remember your name.**"

By now, Hyuga Wuye had withdrawn the chakra from his eyes, returning them to their normal black-and-white appearance.

"**As a member of the Leaf Village, Lord Hokage's directives are of the utmost importance!**"

He spouted a grandiose line, then blinked innocently. "**What you saw earlier wasn't the Sharingan—just some colored contacts I made for fun. A childish prank like that… you wouldn't report it to Lord Hokage, right, ninja大哥?**"

If he could've seen the Anbu's face under the mask, he'd have noticed the man's cheek twitching violently.

No Leaf ninja would buy that excuse.

Those were the signature "contacts" of the village's top clan!

**"Swish!"**

Seeing the Anbu vanish with a Body Flicker Technique, Hyuga Wuye's expression darkened instantly.

"**My breathtakingly perfect body…**"

He muttered under his breath.

"**If you're a system, then tell me—why did this so-called pupil power awakening result in the Sharingan?!**"

No response came. Clearly, this wasn't a sentient entity.

"**Looks like I've been opening this body the wrong way…**"

Hyuga Wuye furrowed his brow in thought, then probed mentally: "**So, as a Hyuga clan member, why can I awaken the Sharingan?**"

*«Your body contains both Hyuga and Uchiha bloodlines. Due to your unique constitution, you have the potential to awaken the most ultimate pupil power.»*

"**Uchiha bloodline?**"

Hyuga Wuye's jaw dropped. "**So my father was actually an Uchiha? No wonder I've always been ostracized in the clan—I'm a bastard child?!**"

Born into the Hyuga clan as an Uchiha illegitimate son, and now awakening the Sharingan—this starting point was unparalleled.

"**And the potential for the most ultimate pupil power,**" Hyuga Wuye took a deep breath, "**does that mean the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan? Piloting a giant mech is within reach?**"

*«Higher.»*

The feedback from his body told him the Eternal Mangekyo wasn't the limit.

"**Then it's the Rinnegan?**"

Hyuga Wuye frowned. "**Evolving to the Rinnegan doesn't just require Uchiha blood—it needs the Sage's body too, right?**"

*«Your body meets the requirements for activation.»*

"**Meaning I come with a Sage's body built-in?!**"

The surprise hit so hard that his first instinct was disbelief.

But this wasn't a system—it was his body's instinctive feedback as he explored it. It didn't seem fake.

"**If it evolves further, will it be a six-tomoe purple Rinnegan? A golden Rinnegan? Or maybe a nine-tomoe Rinne-Sharingan?**" Hyuga Wuye wondered.

*«Reach the required number of breakups, and the limit of your pupil power will reveal itself.»*

"**If it weren't for the emotional requirement—that they have to genuinely confess—I'd have broken up with everyone in a year!**"

Hyuga Wuye crossed his arms, momentarily lost in the dazzling fantasy of standing atop the ninja world.

*«Stay cautious.»*

Wuye: "…"

He thought of his next targets.

Tsunade?

Over ten years older than him.

Konan?

Probably still a four-year-old somewhere in the Rain Country.

Kaguya Otsutsuki?

What the heck—locked inside the moon? Was he supposed to romance the moon itself?

Considering these targets' personalities, he suddenly understood the sense of danger his body was warning him about.

Breaking up with all of them—wouldn't he get hacked to pieces? He could almost see himself pierced by a thousand kunai.

Hyuga Wuye shivered.

**"Swish!"**

At that moment, another figure appeared silently before him.

Hyuga Wuye instinctively stepped back, then recognized the middle-aged man in front of him.

He wore the Hokage's signature hat, a large pipe in his mouth. With a puff, a cloud of smoke billowed out.

Wuye was grateful his seven-year-old height put him a head shorter, sparing his face from the smoke.

"**Lord Hokage.**"

He raised his eyes slightly, gazing at the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, with a mix of three parts awe and seven parts reverence.

The Third nodded slightly, pleased.

Under the glow of the Will of Fire, a young boy should show such an expression.

"**Wuye,**" he said, patting Hyuga Wuye's head with feigned affection, his tone gentle, "**don't blame me for keeping you and Kushina apart. You're a Hyuga, and your clan forbids marrying outsiders.**"

"**Yes, I know Lord Hokage is looking out for me.**" Hyuga Wuye replied earnestly.

*Yeah, right. I believe you as much as I'd trust a ghost. You're just worried about the future Nine-Tails Jinchuriki getting tangled with the Hyuga clan—classic ruler's mindset!* he thought.

The Third didn't doubt his words.

After all, he was just an ordinary Hyuga boy—there's no way he'd know Kushina was soon to become the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.

"**Wuye,**" his tone remained mild, easily disarming, "**did you just… awaken the Sharingan?**"

Here it comes!

Hyuga Wuye's heart tightened, but a flicker of panic crossed his face. "**I… I…**"

Denying it outright wouldn't work. The Anbu wouldn't make baseless claims, and with the Third's Telescope Technique, he might've been watching the whole thing.

Unless this lecherous old man was peeking at the women's bathhouse instead, his breakup with Kushina was definitely monitored. The Anbu's timely arrival proved how seriously the Third took this.

"**Lord Hokage, I don't know…**" Hyuga Wuye said, feigning fear.

"**Don't be scared,**" the Third squinted, still patting his head, "**you're part of the Leaf. As Hokage, I'll protect you.**"

Wuye visibly relaxed. "**Lord Hokage, look.**"

Chakra flowed to his eyes again, a warm surge pulsing through them. A pair of blood-red Sharingan with a single tomoe spun into view.

The Third stared deeply into those eyes, a whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind: *"Awakening the Sharingan at seven, and a Hyuga at that—this boy is both a storm's eye and an opportunity. He must be kept under the Hokage's control."*

"**Wuye,**" he offered a warm smile, "**awakening the Sharingan at seven would make you a rare genius even among the Uchiha.**"

Hyuga Wuye put on a shy yet proud expression.

The Third continued, "**But your position is awkward. If this gets out, the Uchiha won't tolerate an outsider with their Sharingan. And as a branch Hyuga, you won't get enough support from your own clan…**"

He paused deliberately.

Hyuga Wuye, playing along, asked in a flustered tone, "**Lord Hokage, w-what should I do?**"

The Third's smile turned grandfatherly as he kept up the head-patting. "**Good child, you need to learn to hide your eyes. Don't tell your clan. After you graduate from the Ninja Academy, I'll arrange for you to join the Anbu—then everything will be fine.**"

In short: hide your power, distance yourself from your clan, and serve the Hokage.

Hyuga Wuye thought it over, then beamed with excitement. "**Thank you, Lord Hokage! I'll work hard!**"

The Third withdrew his hand, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. "**I believe you'll inherit the Will of Fire, protect the Leaf, safeguard the village, and become a trusted comrade to all.**"

Seeing the longing in Hyuga Wuye's eyes, he left, content.

At that moment, Wuye maintained his excited expression, but a faint, mocking smirk tugged at his lips. "**Manipulating hearts is indeed a politician's must-have skill.**"

"**That performance should've been decent. As long as I don't flaunt my talents, the Hokage's focus on me will lessen.**"

"**Hopefully, I can keep this hidden and avoid exposure…**"

Hyuga Wuye leapt down from the Hokage Rock, glancing back at the Third's carved face in the sunset. He muttered with a smirk, "**I really want to paint that old man's rock with colorful graffiti. I finally get Naruto's joy…**"
