Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Surrender

Shane didn't remember crossing the distance between them. One second, May's lips were soft and coaxing, the next, Shane had her pressed against the kitchen counter, breath ragged, heart a war drum in her chest. She was tired of pretending she didn't want this—her—with every inch of her soul.

May let her hands roam this time—slow, confident, like she already knew the map of Shane's body. Her fingers slipped under Shane's shirt, palms trailing heat along her skin, until Shane shivered. Her mouth followed, lips pressing against Shane's throat, her collarbone, leaving traces of fire behind.

"I want all of you," May whispered. "Not just the version you show the world."

May lay back on the bed, expecting softness.

But Shane was done pretending.

She crawled over May like a storm moving in—slow, deliberate, unstoppable. Her eyes were dark, pupils wide with hunger, and her jaw was tight with restraint she was about to let go of.

"You break into my place," Shane said, her voice low, dangerous. "Flirt like you're untouchable. Tease me like you're in control."

She leaned down until their lips almost brushed.

"You have no idea what control looks like."

Before May could respond, Shane kissed her—hard, consuming. Her hand gripped the back of May's neck, holding her in place, the other sliding down her body, not asking for permission—taking.

May moaned into her mouth, but Shane didn't slow down. She moved with purpose, with precision, dragging May's shirt down her arms, revealing bare skin inch by inch. She kissed down May's chest, biting softly at her collarbone, then soothing it with her tongue. Every sound May made only pushed Shane further.

"You think I haven't had women like you before?" Shane whispered against her skin. "You think you're the first to try and test me?"

But even as she said it, she knew May was different.

Still—she had to prove she wasn't the one getting played.

Her fingers hooked into May's panties, dragging them down with maddening slowness, her lips never leaving her skin. She kissed her stomach, her hips, her thighs—spreading them with her hands, holding her there, watching her squirm.

May was already trembling. Breathless. Eyes glazed.

And Shane hadn't even started.

"Look at you," Shane murmured. "So damn confident… until I touch you."

She dipped her head lower, her mouth finding May's center with ruthless skill. Her tongue moved in slow, deep strokes, circling and teasing until May gasped and arched against her. But Shane pinned her hips down, forcing her to take it her way—her pace.

She wanted to drive her wild.

Wanted to ruin her.

May was a mess now, hands gripping the sheets, legs shaking, whispering Shane's name like a prayer she didn't believe in until now.

And still—Shane didn't let up.

She built the tension, edged her again and again, driving her to the brink and pulling back, until May begged in breathless, broken moans.

"Shane, please—"

That's what she'd been waiting for.

That surrender.

She slid two fingers inside her as her tongue worked faster, deeper, more demanding. And May shattered. Her body arched violently, her scream echoing off the bedroom walls, her release long and drawn-out, shaking her to her core.

Shane didn't stop until May collapsed, completely undone.

Then she kissed her thigh, slow and possessive.

"Now you know," she whispered. "What it's like to belong to me."
