Chapter 21 - Zarion Vex

Luis was instantly dumbfounded at the manager's words.

She had actually helped him discover the path of building his Power Core.

Although it seemed to have requirements, but since she called it a low requirement, this meant that the requirement was something he could probably easily fulfill.

But why was she helping someone who had just won at her casino?

"Mrs. Tara, are you serious?" asked Luis.

Of course, he was also wary because it might be an easy requirement but not something that would be good for him.

He looked at the business card which was actually made of gold, showing the high status of its owner.

He saw the name Zarion Vex and a cell phone number with an imperial code.

Unfortunately, there was no complete information on the business card.

"I'm not the joking type," the manager replied.

"But why would you help a Spiritless Awakener like me?" Luis couldn't help but ask again.

"Spiritlessness is indeed a weakness. Even when you advance to Level E+ with a Tier 3 Power Core, it's still very difficult for you to kill Level 4 monsters. Of course, this doesn't mean you'll be weak forever. If you can find a Spirit, you will experience a significant increase in strength. It can be said that you've built the foundation for greater power. However, my purpose in giving you this card is not because I'm doing you a favor," the manager replied causing Luis to almost knit his brows.

He only restrained himself because it was not appropriate to show such an expression in front of this woman.

"Then I'll call him later," Luis said in a low voice as he took the card.

"Mrs. Tara, I'll be going now," he added.

The manager nodded lightly at his words, let him go and asked the dealer to accompany him.

The dealer naturally accompanied him on the walk as he too had to return to his table.

He looked at Luis occasionally but did not try to say anything to him.

The employees at the casino office who were almost all locals kept looking at him.

This casino probably didn't care about his winnings. They just considered it a small loss not worth mentioning, but to the residents of Velos, the big win of one of them only caused great envy in their hearts.

However, all of them in that office were not Awakener. Luis didn't care about them.

All he was worried about were the Awakeners playing in the casino.

Passing through the office door again, he could feel many intense gazes that made him uncomfortable.

Even those imperial residents seemed to want to rob him.

Of course, if he wanted to leave, it was really hard to catch him.

He started writing the number on the business card into his cell phone, wanting to contact him first.

After saving the number, he called him directly which was answered instantly.

"Who?" He heard a slightly hoarse voice that sounded a bit creepy.

Only, it had a very firm tone. Luis suspected it was the voice of a military soldier.

"I was recommended by Mrs. Tara. She said you could help me build a Power Core with low requirements," Luis replied.

"Where are you now?" The other party suddenly asked his location.

"I'm at Mrs. Tara's casino," Luis replied.

"Would you like to be picked up?"

Luis, "..."

"Wait, Mr. Zarion, I want to know first what your terms are," Luis said.

He didn't expect that he was even ready to pick him up, but he couldn't just agree.

"It's not hard, you just have to join me to fight the empire," the man replied.

"What?" Luis was stunned to hear that.

Fight the empire?

Was he a rebel among the people of Velos.

No, even his name was clearly not a resident of Velos, he should really be from the empire.

Of course, the empire was not without enemies from their own population. After all, it had complicated politics. Many parties wanted to replace the imperial family as rulers and many also held grudges for having been betrayed by the empire itself.

One thing that was certain was that no one would go against the empire unless they were extremely powerful.

They are all people who are considered very threatening to the empire itself.

Luis himself had hopes of fighting the empire, but joining forces with someone from the empire to do so, he was somewhat unsure.

"How about it boy, decide now!" The man spoke again, sounding like he wanted to get angry.

It seemed that he was not a person who liked to wait for others to think and might also have a very unfriendly personality.

Only, Luis found this rather interesting.

He preferred this kind of personality because such people rarely hid things.

'Maybe I can give it a try, maybe this will become more interesting,' he thought.

After thinking about it, he then said, "yes, I'll join you!"

He couldn't help but stare at the office door, wondering if the manager was also that man's supporter against the empire.

She wasn't helping him, but helping the man find members.

Maybe he wasn't considered a potential, but at least he showed that he could be a potential if he got another lucky break.

After he said he would join, the man apparently immediately disconnected the phone without saying anything, but Luis knew that he would come or at least send someone to pick him up.

Since it was like that, so he stayed in this casino which was still a safe place for him since people wouldn't rob here.

Thomas and the others went straight to him.

The red-haired man smiled at him as he said, "congratulations, Luis. I've been playing here for over six months and have never won or even come close to winning. You played once and won right away, I find it hard to believe that this is real..."

Some students who had friendly personalities also congratulated him.

However, Milo looked very upset.

He just didn't dare say anything unpleasant because Thomas was so friendly to Luis.

At the same time, Luis also saw Walker and his gang coming towards him.

The man seemed to be scrutinizing him up and down.

"I didn't expect this, the second time we meet, you get a bigger fortune," he said to the surprise of Thomas and the others.

"Ohh, Walker, have you met Luis yet?" asked Thomas.

He seemed curious to know what Luis' first fortune was.

"Yes, yesterday, he collected the Monster Core from the corpses that had been killed by the Primordial Golden Gorilla that I told you my subordinates saw," replied Walker.

"Really, but you probably don't know, Luis only awoke yesterday and today he's already at Level E despite having no Spirit," Thomas said.

"Ohhh, maybe he killed those monsters himself. It seems that they weren't beaten to death by the Primordial Golden Gorilla, just injured. Cases like this are rare, but a beginner encountering severely injured monsters can be said to be a high level of luck, no wonder he was able to level up so quickly."

Luis, "..."

He suddenly felt worried about being around these people who he thought were too smart and had an unpredictable nature.

At this moment, Thomas and his companions were looking at him with a more curious expression after hearing the information from Walker.

He smiled wryly at them as he shook his head, "I'm afraid I've taken all the luck in my life, maybe next time I'll only find bad luck."

He spoke in a joking tone so some people laughed.

Suddenly after that, he received a message from Zarion's number.

(Get out of the casino and get into the Black Zenix Car, there's only one there!)

'Zenix!' Luis was a bit surprised when he read that because it was the top brand of flying cars in the empire.

It was said that it had a high level of defense that only high level Awakeners could penetrate.

"Thomas, I'll take my leave," he said to Thomas, needing to return his hospitality.

After that, he stepped away which made the eyes of several people shine brightly.

Three of them even followed him immediately, two from the empire and one local.

Compared to the locals, the imperial residents were indeed more blatant if they wanted to rob the locals.

This was because the laws for them were very vague.

They easily escaped the law after robbing the locals with very strong evidence.

Luis pretended not to see them.

Coming out of the casino, he immediately found a Black Zenix without wheels, floating in the air.

It had a large size with a long shape like a limousine but had a higher roof so that people could stand inside.

All the glass was covered and it was dark. Luis couldn't even see into it.

However, it would be funny if he got robbed by someone who was probably very rich and powerful, so he had no worries, walking up to the car and opening the door, surprising the people who wanted to follow him.
