After answering the call, Kai returned to the table. Reiji was already drinking fast, glass after glass, his frustration simmering beneath the surface. Eden remained calm, leisurely sipping his whiskey with an amused look in his eyes.
Kai sat back down, glancing between them.
Kai (firmly): "Reiji, can you stop it? I don't want a burden tonight. If you get drunk, I'll leave you on the road."
Eden chuckled under his breath.
Eden: "He deserves it."
Reiji's eyes burned red with anger, but he didn't say a word. He kept drinking.
Kai looked at Eden.
Kai: "Let's meet tomorrow at the university."
Eden gave a single nod.
Without another word, Kai stood up and walked toward the exit. Reiji blinked, then scrambled to follow him. Just as Kai reached his car, Reiji grabbed his wrist.
Reiji: "Kai…"
Kai turned, sighing.
Kai: "You're drunk, Reiji. Let's go home."
Reiji shook his head.
Reiji: "I'm not drunk. First, tell me… about your lover."
