~Alex's POV
As I turned away from Bella and stepped out of the room with Luca, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease settling in my chest. Leaving her alone to discuss something so important wasn't ideal, but I trusted Mr. Donovan to handle things well. More than that, I trusted Bella to speak up, to fight for her brother the way I knew she wanted to.
Luca walked beside me, his expression unreadable as we made our way down the hallway. I could tell he had something on his mind, but he didn't speak right away. When we finally stepped outside, he turned to me with a knowing look.
"You seem pretty invested in her," he said casually, though his eyes were sharp with observation.
I shot him a sideways glance. "And?"
He let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. "Nothing. Just interesting to see you like this."
