~Alex's POV
I watched as Bella headed toward the kitchen, humming softly to herself. There was something so refreshing about her energy…light, genuine, and unguarded. She wasn't trying to impress me with anything flashy. She just wanted to do something nice, and that meant more to me than any expensive gift ever could.
I leaned back on the couch, a small smile tugging at my lips as I listened to her moving around in the kitchen. Drawers opened and closed, pots and pans clanged softly, and soon, the enticing aroma of spices and cooking filled the air.
Bella popped her head out of the kitchen after a few minutes, her cheeks flushed from the heat. "Just a heads-up…this might not be a five-star gourmet meal, but I promise it'll taste good," she said with a wink.
"As long as it's edible, I'm happy," I joked.
She laughed and disappeared back into the kitchen.
