Chapter 22 - Discoveries

Without hesitation, Gu Zhen agreed decisively.

Not long after, he received an appraisal vouchers worth 1.2 million star coins.

It wasn't that he didn't want to sell the remaining [Iron Fist] and [Iron Legs] skills together, but because the rules restricted him to only one insight sale every ten days.

Selling too frequently would damage the foundation of his spiritual realm.

Vouchers in hand, Gu Zhen made his way straight to the Physical Material Section.

Materials for other superpowers types either didn't apply to him or were far out of his budget.

Instead of wasting time browsing, he went straight for his target.

However, after searching thoroughly, Gu Zhen discovered a problem—he couldn't afford any of the materials that would truly enhance his body cultivation.

The cheaper ones wouldn't do much for him at all.

Frustrated but unfazed, He shifted over to the Star Power Enhancement Section.

This area typically sold star power enhancement potions, but also included special items like Star Artifacts, which could accelerate cultivation speed.

A glance at the Star Artifact section told him all he needed to know—the cheapest one started at 8,000 star crystals, way beyond what someone like him could afford.

And even then, the effects were underwhelming, offering only a 20% boost to training efficiency.

But artifacts weren't the only option.

Soon, something else caught his eye—Star Power Absorption Potions.

These potions enhanced a star warrior to absorb star power, increasing efficiency by about 50%. Each unit lasted an hour, with a daily limit of three.

Any more and it could damage the body.

Surprisingly, they were even cheaper than star Power enhancement potions—just 6,000 star coins per bottle.

Eyes lighting up, he made a bold decision and bought 100 units.

With a three-per-day cap, 100 bottles would last him a full month.

That purchase alone cost him 600,000 coins.

As for the remaining funds, He didn't bother holding onto them.

He poured the rest into spirit recovery potions.

These potions, as the name implied, restored spirit energy. For someone like him, who only had a Realm 1, intermediate-level spiritual realm, a single bottle was enough to fully replenish his spirit power—with some to spare.

But they were expensive—20,000 star coins each.

He bought 30 bottles, spending everything he had.

With no use of saving as he couldn't afford materials to enhance his secondary attribute anyway.

Better to invest it all in to boost his strength.

Since he'd bought in bulk, the Yunfan Chamber of Commerce would deliver his goods directly to the academy—saving him the hassle of carrying it all back.

With his business done, Gu Zhen didn't linger.

He hailed a cab and headed straight home.

The whole way back, he was tense, half-expecting the Gu family to ambush him.

But strangely, no one showed up.

He made it back to the academy safely.

Though puzzled, he didn't dwell on it and went straight to his dorm.

Along the way, he picked up the package sent by Yunfan Chamber of Commerce.

Looking at the pale green bottle of Star power Absorption Potions in his hand, He twisted off the cap and drank it down in one go.

It didn't taste like much, but immediately after, he felt his star core begin to hunger for energy.

Without wasting time, he activated his Star Gathering skill, drawing star power into his body with intense focus.

With the potion 50% boost, his absorption rate increased dramatically—even though it still couldn't quite keep up with the speed of his star gathering.

Still, it significantly accelerated his cultivation.

Once his spirit energy was drained, Gu Zhen pulled out a spirit recovery potion and drank it in one gulp.

A cool sensation swept through his mind—refreshing and clear. His thoughts sharpened, and the spirit exhaustion from earlier rapidly faded away.

The spiritual energy he'd burned through while using the Star Gathering skill began to recover at an impressive pace.

Alternating between these two potions, Gu Zhen trained relentlessly.

After three days, he finally reached Realm 1 – Level 3.

The following days were uneventful, allowing him to live quietly while his strength steadily improved.

From the shadows, Li Qin continued to observe him—and couldn't help but feel increasingly satisfied.

Such drive and discipline.

This kid was saving him a lot of trouble.

At this rate, he might not even need to wait for the official next-semester enrollment.

The pre-admission phase this term might be enough to complete his mission.

But as he continued watching, something unexpected caught his attention.

Gu Zhen was even more interesting than he initially thought.

Li Qin noticed that Gu Zhen returned to sell a star skill insight every ten days, suggesting he could master one every ten days.

But after deeper analysis, he realized something even more astonishing—

Gu Zhen could master a star skill in only four days.

The ten-day limit was just due to the Chamber sale restriction.

To verify, Li Qin observed him again after he received his second month special superpowers-type subsidy.

Sure enough, after learning a brand new skill, Gu Zhen mastered it in just four days.

This kind of talent was beyond imagination.

Learning star skills was like child play to him.

Even Li Qin himself couldn't learn a C-rank star skill in just four days.

Sure, some star warriors with spirit-type superpower learned fast, especially those with D-rank learning-type powers, but Gu Zhen had no spiritual attributes at all—his superpower was a special-type.

This made Li Qin realize Gu Zhen was a genius.

Recruiting him for use might be more valuable than treating him as an experimental subject.

And if they nurtured him properly, he might be far more valuable than simply turning him into an experimental subject.

If they helped him boost his spiritual strength and shorten the interval between selling insights, he could become a living factory for high-level insights.

While these insights might be useless for those above Realm 3, they would be a goldmine for Realm 1 and Realm 2 star warriors.

And maybe—just maybe—Gu Zhen could also develop brand new star skills, given his natural understanding.

Even if that didn't work out, turning him into an experiment later was always an option.

With this in mind, Li Qin immediately contacted his superior to report the discovery.

"You're saying that Gu Yi has talent in star skill mastery?"

A cold, indifferent female voice echoed in Li Qin mind.

"That's right," Li Qin replied with a respectful nod before elaborating.

"He learns them incredibly fast—faster than even D-rank learning-type star warriors. I believe it would be a waste to treat him as just another test subject."

"I understand. I'll verify it myself. If it's true, your reward will be substantial."

'Thank you, my lord' Li Qin responded, though he felt little joy.

Despite the promise, Li Qin expression remained calm.

He was already at the peak of Realm 3, and to go further, he needed Realm 4 materials.

A few reward points for finding a talented subject wouldn't be enough to exchange for what he needed within the organization reward system.

"Realm 4....when will I finally reach it?"
