Parrying the simultaneous blows of my opponents, I again feel the mana surrounding us thrum their ready tunes, reacting to the vibrant power displayed from our clash.
My lengthy hair violently rippling through the air, I feel a cold breeze encapsulate everything close to the four of us as a sensual tingle reverberates throughout my senses.
The after-shock of our attack only making itself known seconds after the clash ended, the full strength of the breeze begins to bore through and destroy everything, the ground earning streaks along its glossy surface, the corpses of the surrounding animals getting displaced by dozens of meters.
I could both feel and hear the brutal whirring of the air as the crackling of shattered glass echoes, creating a painful shrill that continues far beyond the initial impact that had incurred such volatile environmental effects.
"Hey, you guys aren't all that bad," I state with a smile, my mana evidencing my excitement as it flares up and about to light up the entire cavern.
At the epicenter was myself, unmoved and hardened as the three monsters who'd originally attacked me lay on the ground just a few meters from me.
The first of the three was a giant reptile with silver garnishments that covered its shoulders and head, the rest of its body sheltered in leather adornments.
The second was a figure fully concealed in a blue cape, the only thing visible its outstanding blade and the arm which was carrying it by its golden hilt.
The third was, as simply put, just a wolf. The mana emanating from it with such intensity, on the other hand, revealed a far more feral, vicious nature.
In response to my nonchalant attitude, the three monsters all jumped up, their individual energies all revealing the depth of their killing intents.
Their manas were so condensed with hostile intent that their eyes began to glare a red streak of light, the power hidden in their muscles forming a bulge that caused them all to grow in size.
The ground also began to give way, their increased mass causing small craters to form where their appendages made contact with the earth.
"Ooh, scary..." I remark, relaxing my hands as I raise my arms, almost mocking their resolve, "but you know, I have to deal with your friends first."
Without fear of being chased, I dash towards the crowd of monsters still marching their way towards where I'd initially met with the alphas.
"Come at me, fellas!"
Responding to my taunts, five or so monsters bombard me, jumping at me with a mixture of claws, blades, and fangs.
Shluck!
Just like that, they were cleaved apart with a swing of my daggers, my physical strength alone being enough for the likes of them.
Again, the monsters who were just barely following the ones I'd mutilated came to a grinding halt, their momentums squashed as I could observe the terror thrummed in their manas, further corroborated with mixed expressions of fear, vexation, or confusion.
"I know you guys can do better than that.. come at me all at once!"
Hungry on power, I goad the monsters to continue their onslaught, referencing no single creature in particular.
As if they could understand what I was saying, they again continue their assault, this time in closer proximity to one another so as to not get singled out the way I've been dissection four or five at a time as I've been doing.
Just barely dodging three claws all aimed at my neck from 10-o'clock, I grab them out of the air, ripping apart the mixture of hands, paws, and hooves as the same-colored purple splashes along the same path, just barely missing my face.
"Grhhhghhh!"
"Khhkkaa!"
Ignoring the primal bellows of the monsters I've declawed, my right arm reels back in anticipation for counter-attack, deciding to spend some mana in the hopes that I can deal with surrounding monsters.
"Mana skin!"
A cold sweat runs down my face as I look back, a centaur and its blade just barely lodged into my skin by a couple millimeters.
The clattering of its blade fighting against my steel skin forming heated sparks that fly off into the distance, a sharp jolt of pain is made conspicuous as the blade just barely claws its way deeper into my skin.
In retaliation, my left leg wraps behind my right as I twist myself into the air, using my right leg to deal with the monsters caught with my left arm and the centaur who'd attempted to backstab me all at the same time.
Feeling the squelching of flesh, I kick through the surrounding beasts as they're devolved into simple puddles of purple, meaty goo.
Somehow, someway, I didn't sense the centaur sneak up behind me to deliver a fatal blow until just a couple hundred milliseconds before.
"Any later and I would be dead..."
A lingering fear gains prevalence as my mind grinds, working its inner machinations as best it can to come down to how exactly it'd concealed itself in the way it did.
Although, I don't think I'll have the time to think too deeply about it, considering the now innumerable amount of monsters surrounding me.
Thud, thud, thud!
Again, they all continue their pursuit, my senses just barely acclimating as my enhanced deduction tries to sift through the huge number of variable.
"Well, to hell with it all. Whoever comes out of this will be the strongest... Mana Infusion!"
I meet their pursuit, finally emboldening my blades with energy. In response to my invocation, my largely flaring mana began to allocated to my blades as the daggers shifted from small, meager blades to gargantuan, story-tall behemoths.
The weight of the blades pulling my body down and forming small craters under my feet with each step, I swing them once, the air pressure strong enough to form smaller hurricanes.
Subsequently, I cut through around a dozen beasts, their torsos, heads, and limbs flying off to reveal the same purple colored blood.
But what followed was not the typical fear that these beasts had displayed beforehand, but instead, a feral determination to tear apart their enemy: me.
"So, after seeing that I can be damaged, you guys feel hope. Well, lets see if it's founded!"
