Chapter 26 - CHAPTER : THE BETRAYER’S FLAME

The skies over the celestial realm churned with unease.

Zephyr's declaration had shaken the very fabric of the heavens. For the first time in millennia, a god had spoken against the divine order. But this wasn't just any god—this was zephyr the Rememberer, the only being who had lived through the First Divine War and walked away with his memories intact.

The High Council of Gods gathered in panic, their golden thrones floating above clouds of endless light. But their glow dimmed now, haunted by zephyr's voice echoing through creation:

> "You are the architects of your own doom."

In the shadows of that storm, an ancient vault deep beneath the Council's chamber began to pulse. Sealed behind countless divine glyphs, chained with celestial fire, a small flame flickered—alive, but wounded.

It was called Ignis Traditorum—the Flame of Betrayal.

Not a weapon.

Not a tool.

But a soul.

A living flame born from the moment the gods first betrayed Azrion.

Long ago…

Azrion had stood atop the Demon Spire, crowned in glory and feared by the heavens. His power was unmatched, but his heart… still human. Still capable of trust.

There was one god he loved above all—a brother not by blood, but by bond. His name was Solmir, the Radiant Flame.

Solmir had fought beside Azrion against the corrupted ancient beasts. He had laughed with him, bled for him, stood before him during the crowning of the Demon Kings.

But Solmir had changed.

The gods had whispered in his ear.

Promised him ascension. Worship. Immortality beyond the demon realms.

And so, the flame that once warmed Azrion's heart… became the fire that burned his people to ash.

Solmir lit the first seal.

He shattered the pact of peace.

He struck Azrion's mother down in cold light.

Back in the present, Kael sat beside Azrion in the soul realm, feeling the weight of the memory pressing into his bones.

> "He was… your brother?" Kael asked, voice low.

Azrion's eyes were closed, but his jaw clenched with something between grief and fury.

> "I trusted him more than I trusted myself," he whispered. "He held my hand when I first cried. He taught me how to hold a sword… then used that same blade to carve my downfall."

Kael's hands trembled.

> "Why would he do it?"

Azrion opened his eyes—and the pain within them was beyond words.

> "Because power blinds. And the gods… they promised him a throne of stars. All he had to do was burn mine."

At the peak of Mount Ethyrian, zephyr raised his staff, striking the earth with a bolt of memory.

From the dust, the truth rose—a vision for the world to see.

Every realm watched.

The betrayal. The burning. Solmir's glowing eyes as he stabbed Azrion in the back. The council's laughter. The sealing of Azrion's soul.

The illusion ended, leaving silence.

And then zephyr spoke once more.

> "You fear what you created. You call him the demon… but it was you who played gods over truth. And now…"

His gaze lifted to the skies.

> "…your flame returns."

Far above, in a forgotten celestial prison, the Flame of Betrayal surged.

Solmir, now a Celestial Emperor, awakened from a deep meditation… sweat running down his brow.

Because he knew…

Azrion was coming.

And this time, he would not bring mercy.

He would bring reckoning.

And he also knows azrion will come for him and give him the painfull death .
