Chapter 2 - System

It was said in ancient legends that beyond the Three Thousand Heaven-Approved Physiques, there existed ten unique constitutions—so rare and overwhelming that even the heavens dared not acknowledge them. These ten were known only through fragmented scrolls and the whispers of old cultivators—the Forbidden Physiques.

No one had seen them. No one had verified their existence. And yet… here he was.

Avinash stood silently by the window, his gaze unfocused. Sunlight filtered through the glass panes, warm against his skin. The courtyard below was calm, but his mind was anything but.

"A pity…" he murmured under his breath. "I spent so many lives chasing the illusion of destiny—believing I was the Son of Heaven, thinking everything would fall into place. I cultivated, I bled, I trusted… only to realise in the end, I was never meant to walk that path."

His voice grew quiet.

"My eyes… are one of the Ten Forbidden Physiques."

He exhaled, breath catching slightly as memories of betrayal—friends, family, lovers—flooded his mind. Time dulled most wounds. But betrayal… that kind of pain left scars that echoed across lifetimes.

Humans are the most gifted among all races. Their cultivation potential is unmatched. But that same brilliance breeds envy, greed, and weakness. Their greatest flaw… is emotion.

He had died seven times—each life ending in a storm of regret, anguish, and bitterness. But now, standing once again at the beginning, he could see clearly. All of it—the humiliation, the deception, the pain—it was worth it.

Why?

Because knowledge, once gained, could never be taken away.

"Back then, I didn't trust the System. I thought it was some cursed tool, a trap sent to tempt and control me," Avinash thought. "But now… I understand. It's a weapon. And I need it."

A cold resolve settled in his chest. The mistakes of the past would not be repeated. Not this time.

He closed his eyes and reached inward.

"System," he said calmly. "Come out."

[Ding! Host! You're finally willing to acknowledge me! I always knew you'd come around!]

A playful tone echoed in his mind, followed by an exaggerated, virtual grin.

Avinash didn't even flinch.

"Spare me the theatrics. Introduce yourself, and explain your functions. Briefly."

[Destiny Stealing System—also known as the Villain System.

Primary Function: Steal the destinies of others.

Once stolen, destinies can be:

• Absorbed into the Host's fate

• Converted into Villain Points

Villain Points can be exchanged for cultivation resources, treasures, and system functions.]

"I see." Avinash nodded slightly, though inwardly his thoughts were already moving in a different direction.

This system isn't ordinary. It reeks of higher realm interference. Either its creator covets my Eye Physique… or my fate itself. Possibly both.

But that doesn't matter.

As long as it's useful, I'll use it. When it's no longer useful… I'll discard it like the rest.

Let them rage. Higher realm entities couldn't directly intervene in lower realms—not without great cost. As far as Avinash was concerned, the system was his tool now.

"Do I have any beginner packs?"

[Ding! Yes, Host. Would you like to open it?]

"Go ahead."

[Congratulations, Host! You have received:

• Foundation Building Peak Cultivation Card (2 hours)

• 100 High-Grade Spirit Stones

• Body Purifying Lotus

• Illusion Formation Array – Usable below Divine Transformation Realm (2 charges)]

Avinash blinked.

"…Huh. That's more generous than I expected."

But generosity didn't matter. He was still at square one—no cultivation base, no spiritual roots, and worse… almost no talent.

Even with all his experience, none of it would matter if he didn't act fast.

In past lives, I wasted time. I hesitated, played by the rules, tried to be righteous.

This time, I'll do it my way.

"I'm not even in the Qi Condensation Realm yet. Every second I delay, others get further ahead. And many of the treasures I remember are useless unless I have a strong foundation."

He narrowed his eyes.

"Foundation first. Then opportunities. Without strength, all I'll be is a clever corpse."

"I need to catch up. Fast. I can't afford to fall behind again."

There were countless opportunities ahead—but many of them required a strong foundation. Without it, entering those places would be like stepping into a death trap.

His greatest obstacle now was precisely that—his flawed foundation. He needed to fix it immediately. If he moved slowly, as he had in his previous seven lives, he would miss his chance yet again.

"To cultivate at the fastest possible speed, I need two things—talent and resources. Resources, the system can provide. But for talent… I'll need someone with absurdly high luck."

His expression turned cold and calculating.

"Hah… how could I forget my good brother? He's perfect. He has both the talent and the luck I need."

"I'll take care of that soon. But for now... System, show me my status."

[Ding! Yes, Host.]

[Techniques – None]

[Destiny Value – 10,000,000]

[Talent for Cultivation – Very poor (rubbish)]

[Storage – Body Purifying Lotus (Supreme Grade), Foundation Building Peak Cultivation Card (2 hours), 100 High-Grade Spirit Stones, Illusion Formation (usable below Divine Transformation Realm, 2 times)]

"...Shit."

His eyes narrowed.

"My talent is even worse than I expected. The Celestial Reincarnation Eyes might be a heaven-defying physique that controls seven supreme laws... but they don't boost cultivation talent directly."

"And the True Yang Bone… it's a double-edged sword. It requires Immortal Yang Fire to transform into the Immortal Yang Physique—or it can awaken bloodlines. But doing that would expose me. That's how I died in several past lives."

The only way forward now… was to completely cleanse his foundation.

But the greatest obstacle right now… was himself.

His current body carried remnants of powerful but broken physique: traces of the True Sun Physique, a thin bloodline of immortal sword faimily , and the namesake of noble clans who had long since cast him aside.

These remnants were now more hindrance than help.

"I'll use the Body Purifying Lotus. Better to sever every lingering trace of my old bloodlines and remnants of the Sun Physique."

"Only then can I truly begin again."
