Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: I Can Wait For Her

The dangers in the mining zone had been mostly cleared,

but Seele still hadn't brought Bronya to Oleg,

nor had the trio met this important figure. After discussion, the group decided to press onward.

Unfortunately, their path was blocked—the only way forward obstructed by a derelict mining cart.

Fortunately, through sheer coincidence, Caelus found a lost item in the tunnels—

a "Chadwick" search device from the Interastral Peace Corporation.

With its help, they located the parts needed to repair the cart.

March 7th eyed Chadwick. "This is way too convenient! If Dan Heng ever gets lost again, can we use Chadwick to find him?"

Dan Heng closed his eyes and sighed, too tired to argue. "Not a bad idea. But let's keep moving."

Naturally, the glorious and arduous task of repairing the cart fell to Caelus.

"Running around scavenging is exhausting. If only Mr. Yang were here—one black hole and poof, problem solved..." Despite his grumbling, Caelus got to work.

[Dan Heng getting lost? Is Dan Heng prone to that?]

[You believe March 7th? I knew from Season 1 this girl wasn't normal, and Season 2 just confirms my biases.]

[Dan Heng... lost? Just imagining it is hilarious!]

[Could Dan Heng actually get lost?]

[Did you see Dan Heng's face? Pure resignation.]

[And Caelus' expression—LOL, he's so done but also kinda amused.]

[Maybe March 7th is the one who keeps wandering off and claims Dan Heng is lost?]

[Solid theory. Fits their personalities!]

[March fans, don't hate me—I just think March 7th gets dumber by the episode.]

[Dumber? March 7th? How dare—wait, I can't even argue with that!]

[Same here!]

——

As the comments about March 7th flooded the chat,

the group reached the depths of the mining zone.

The camera zoomed in on Seele's face.

Her expression was alert, her gaze sharp as a blade.

Caelus followed her line of sight—ahead stood a massive robot, towering half a body taller than an adult man.

The frame panned to a full shot of the machine, captioned: Automaton Grizzly.

True to its name, the Grizzly's right arm was a serrated chainsaw, capable of slicing through solid objects like butter.

Unlike the Antimatter Legion, this thing radiated raw, mechanical menace.

"That model's definitely one of Svarog's lackeys!" Seele shot Caelus a look.

"Don't worry, I've fought these before. Let's go!"

With that, the five launched a righteous gang-up,

each unleashing their signature moves on the Grizzly.

Being a robot, it was strong, pain-resistant, and agile.

Luckily, Seele kept its attention locked on her, and after a tense fight, they reduced it to scrap.

Caelus wiped sweat from his brow. "Good thing Mr. Yang isn't here. Seeing a robot turned to junk would break his heart."

Then.

The group pressed on, arriving at the rumored new ore vein.

The camera pulled back, revealing an endless expanse of mineral deposits—a sight so grand it left the audience in awe.

[Nature's craftsmanship is unreal!]

[Seriously, this wide shot is breathtaking! We only heard about it before—now we see why miners and vagrants would kill for it.]

[Wonder where they filmed this.]

[Remember, folks—this isn't real. We're watching a web series!]

[Almost got fooled by miHoYo's magic again.]

——

After a sweeping continuous shot, the camera plunged downward,

but the trio were nowhere in frame.

Instead, a towering humanoid robot dominated the scene—its body clad in violet-black armor, its head resembling a camera lens with crimson laser-like lights.

Its metallic limbs gleamed, its torso draped with a tunic whose sleeves billowed freely in the wind.

A bold caption flashed: SVAROG.

[SICK!]

[Shockwave??? Can he transform too?]

[This is Svarog? He's a robot?!]

[Same! I thought he was human!]

[Makes sense—no way a person could control this many machines.]

[Wait, who's that beside him?]

Just then, the camera tilted downward,

revealing a small girl with white hair and a red coat, barefoot, her back to the lens.

The shot lingered deliberately on Clara's feet.

"Mr. Svarog, look—such a huge ore vein! Clara's never seen so much lumamber..."

She turned slowly to face the towering robot.

The moment was slowed for dramatic effect—

the tilt of her head, the sway of her hair,

culminating in a freeze-frame of her delicate features.

A caption identified her: CLARA.

[HELP, HELP, SHE'S ATTACKING ME WITH HER CUTENESS, I'M AT 1 HP!]

[GAH! I CAN'T TAKE THIS!]

[CLARA!!! How is her voice so soft???]

[She smiled at me! HEHE, SHE SMILED AT ME!]

[Ughhh... too adorable!]

[Wifey, you're finally here! I've waited so long!]

[Isn't Clara underage?]

[I can wait for her!]

[My heart, my soul—I'm done for, I'm hooked!]

[Hooked? On what?]

[M-my love for Clara... I'm addicted!]

[Pfft. Same.]

[That foot close-up was very intentional. What's there? Food?]

[Yes. A delicacy meant to be savored.]

[Great minds think alike!]

——

Next.

Clara and Svarog conversed, outlining the latter's motives—

and showcasing his cold, robotic logic.

But the audience had long stopped caring about plot. Their eyes were glued to Clara.

"Human actions consistently defy rational calculation, Clara." Svarog's gaze shifted to the tunnel entrance. "Their presence here is proof."

No sooner had he spoken than the trio, Bronya, and Seele arrived before him.

Seele planted a hand on her hip, battle-ready.

"Svarog! We've got unfinished business!"
