I slowly rose from where I had been sitting, stretching my body. Even though I didn't feel physical exhaustion, the stiffness from being too long in that cold, gloomy dungeon still lingered.
Sunlight wrapped around me like a warm blanket I had long forgotten. But the warmth didn't come only from the sky it came from a sense of freedom. For the first time in what felt like ages, I truly felt free.
However, I knew this moment couldn't last forever. There was a place I had to go: the Tower of Echoes.
An ancient tower said to hold the secrets of the past and perhaps... my future.
Unfortunately, even though it was still on the same continent, the tower was far from here. Traveling overland would take far too long, and returning to the lich for teleportation help wasn't ideal either. His location was even farther in the opposite direction.
I let out a soft sigh and opened my system panel.
