Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 – Rise of the Savior

---

While terror and shadow gripped the eastern side of the kingdom from Malveth's slaughter, a different light began to shine in the west.

A guild outpost near the borderlands was under siege—beasts corrupted by mana poured through the forest, tearing through defenses. Screams echoed as the elite were overwhelmed, and B-rank hunters fought tooth and nail just to survive.

"Where's the backup?!"

"We're all going to die—!"

A horn sounded in the distance.

A moment later, the skies opened.

And he descended.

---

A man bathed in gold light, clad in silver armor with a flowing white cape, sword radiating calm warmth. Serian Dawnblade landed amidst the chaos like a meteor of justice.

Every step he took, the ground beneath him bloomed with light.

"Fear not," his voice echoed, calm and commanding. "Your savior has arrived."

---

A monstrous wolf leapt toward a young girl—its teeth inches from her throat.

Serian moved in a blink.

His blade danced like light made solid, cleaving the beast in half mid-air. He didn't even look back.

The guild members froze.

"W-Who...?"

"I am Serian," he said with a gentle smile. "Just a traveler… here to help."

---

He fought like a legend.

Ten beasts fell in ten breaths.

His aura healed wounded hunters.

His sword purified corruption as he carved through it.

And when the final corrupted beast—a mana-fused wyvern—descended from the sky, Serian leapt into the air, golden wings flashing behind him.

> "Fall, monster."

A single, elegant slash.

A radiant arc split the wyvern in two, dissolving it in holy flame.

---

After the battle, silence reigned.

Then came cheers.

Tears.

Worship.

A veteran hunter knelt before him. "You're… no ordinary man."

Serian helped him up.

"No one is ordinary," he replied. "Even the weakest have light within them."

In the shadows far away, Kael listened to the reports flooding in.

"Malveth terrifies the east. Serian inspires the west," Orren muttered. "The kingdom's being split in two."

Kael nodded slowly, fingers steepled.

"Good," he said. "When they beg the hero to slay the demon, they'll never realize…"

> "…both swords are in my hands."
