Chapter 20 - I'm fine

After Lin Qiye fed Nyx the medicine, he withdrew from his mind and gradually sank into a dream.

This time, he didn't have that tiring dream of knocking on the door again. Since the Psychiatric Hospital of the Gods merged with him, he seemed to have completely gotten rid of the shackles of that dream and had a real sleep.

He had a good dream. He dreamed that he was admitted to university, achieved success in his career, and took his aunt and Yang Jin to live in a big house. He dreamed that the three of them in the family could finally go on a trip and see the mountains and waters that he had only seen on TV...

Due to his previous physical disability and the tight family budget with no extra money, in the past seventeen years, Lin Qiye had never even left Cangnan City, let alone gone on a trip.

Deep down, he still yearned for the outside world.

When the alarm clock rang, Lin Qiye reluctantly got up, changed his clothes, and prepared to go to school.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw his aunt who was in a hurry to change her shoes at the door and get ready to go out.

"Auntie, why are you going to work so early?"

"A new batch of parts has arrived at the factory, and they want us to process them quickly. Auntie is leaving now. You and your brother can have breakfast. Remember not to be late!" Auntie chattered.

"Okay."

Just as Auntie was about to close the door, Lin Qiye spoke again.

"Auntie."

"What's the matter?"

Auntie stopped and looked at Lin Qiye in confusion.

"Nothing... It's nothing." Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and a smile appeared on his lips. "When you come back, I'll tell you some good news."

Auntie looked at him suspiciously for a few times and cursed with a smile, "You kid, you're playing tricks on me. All right, Auntie is in a hurry now. Tell me about it tonight!"

After saying that, she quickly closed the door and ran downstairs pattering.

Lin Qiye stood at the door silently, with his head lowered, not knowing what he was thinking...

Suddenly,He suddenly raised his head, as if making a certain decision. He opened the door wearing slippers!

He stood at the entrance of the corridor and shouted downstairs!

"Auntie! I can see!!"

The next moment, Lin Qiye heard the pattering sound downstairs suddenly stop, and then Auntie's voice came up tremblingly from five floors below.

"You, what did you say again?!"

"I can see! I'm all better! Auntie!"

After a short pause, the sound of going upstairs, even more urgent than going downstairs, came from below. Soon, Auntie, panting, stood in front of Lin Qiye.

Her lips trembled slightly, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but rise...

"You can see? Really?"

"Really."

"Is it blurry? Do you see double images? Does it hurt? Will it still sting when exposed to light?"

"No, none of that, Auntie." Lin Qiye raised the corners of his mouth, reached out and untied the black ribbon on his eyes, and a pair of extremely beautiful eyes slowly opened. "I'm really all better, Auntie."

Auntie stared blankly at these eyes, and tears welled up in her eyes uncontrollably!

She smiled, and the wrinkles on her face bloomed like flowers. In her forties, she smiled like a child.

In ten years, Lin Qiye had never seen her smile like this.

Auntie hugged Lin Qiye into her arms, and Lin Qiye could clearly feel that her body was trembling slightly.

"Good, good... Our Xiao Qi has finally made it through!" Auntie let go of Lin Qiye, wiped away her tears, and said with a smile, "Xiao Qi, Auntie has to go to work now. When I come back tonight, I'll buy more food and we must celebrate properly!"

"Thank you, Auntie."

"Then, then Auntie is leaving now. You go to school properly."

"Okay."

Auntie quickly walked down the stairs, and tears still couldn't stop falling from her cheeks. She wiped her face, and her steps were more brisk than ever.

Lin Qiye watched Auntie leave, and then turned around with red eyes and walked into the house.

In fact, he originally wanted to wait until Auntie came back at night to formally announce this matter. But then he thought that in movies, people who set such flags usually don't have a good ending...

He didn't want anything to happen to Auntie. Even if it was just some inexplicable metaphysical logic, he didn't want to take that risk.

So, he simply pulled out this flag, tore it up, and threw it into the Pacific Ocean.

As soon as Lin Qiye turned around, he saw Yang Jin standing behind him holding Xiao Hei Lai, with red eyes.

The two brothers looked at each other for two seconds and then both smiled.

"Brother, congratulations."

"Yeah, now the sunglasses you gave me can finally be put to use." Lin Qiye stroked Yang Jin's head and said with a smile.

"Let's eat, Brother. When Auntie comes back tonight, we'll have a good meal."

"Okay!"

Xiao Hei Lai stuck his head out of Yang Jin's arms and licked Lin Qiye's hand. "Woof——!"

...

At No. 2 Middle School.

When Lin Qiye walked into the classroom, the whole class fell silent immediately.

After those classmates stared at each other in confusion for a while, someone tentatively spoke:

"Are you... Lin Qiye?"

Lin Qiye, who had taken off the black ribbon, raised his eyebrows and nodded slightly.

After a short silence, the classroom became noisy again, and the discussion was even more enthusiastic than before!

"Is his eye better?"

"Surely it is. He can see things now!"

"His eyes are so beautiful!"

"Yeah, yeah. How come we didn't notice before? He's actually so handsome..."

The way those girls looked at Lin Qiye changed. They gathered together, muttering something, and their eyes glanced at Lin Qiye from time to time.

The boys who were closer to Lin Qiye also crowded around him and asked him a bunch of questions about his eyes. When they confirmed that Lin Qiye had indeed recovered, they were all extremely surprised.

"I could see before, but my eyes couldn't stand the light. After going to the hospital yesterday, I got better." Lin Qiye replied.

Only then did the classmates remember that Lin Qiye was indeed absent from school for a day yesterday, and they suddenly understood.

In this noisy classroom, only two people seemed out of place.

Liu Yuan was sitting in the corner with his head lowered, glancing at Lin Qiye out of the corner of his eye, and his face was extremely awkward.

He clearly remembered that day when he was running for his life, he bumped into Lin Qiye hard. After he escaped danger, he thought that Lin Qiye, a blind man, couldn't possibly escape from that monster's hands. Although he felt a little guilty for a while, he didn't take it too seriously.

But to his surprise, it was Jiang Qian who died, and Lin Qiye, whom he had least expected to survive... actually survived!

And his eyes were better!

For a moment, Liu Yuan couldn't tell what he was feeling. Was it embarrassment? Guilt? Frustration? Or... regret?

Although Lin Qiye had his back to Liu Yuan, he could clearly see the wonderful changes in the other person's expression through his mental perception, and his eyes gradually narrowed.

Just then, another person walked up to Lin Qiye.

Li Yifei stood awkwardly beside Lin Qiye's desk, with an embarrassed expression. He looked around, lowered his head, and whispered in Lin Qiye's ear:

"Qiye... That... Can you come out with me? I have something to say."

Lin Qiye only hesitated for a moment and then nodded.
