As soon as Lylia walked in – she sat on the sofa right in front of the unknown person. Unfortunately Lylia couldn't disguise herself properly, so she couldn't make eye contact with the client.
"What do you want?" She asked.
The client slided a pouch filled with dias (A currency in 'Asteria'.) "I have a request, assist duke Vale in all of the work he does– accept or accept?"
What a funny question.
Duke Vale– popularly known as The Monstrous Duke of North. He has hair as black as the night sky, and eyes as red as blood. He is also my cousin brother.
"And... If I want to refuse?" I asked with a forced smile.
"You can't." He slowly took out a blank cheque from the inner pocket of his coat, and pushed it towards me. "Now?"
I looked at the cheque, picked up the cup of tea kept in front of me, and started drinking it.
I will just give him some time to think about his request.
The man sitting before me looked nervous when I started drinking the tea. Is this silence making him feel awkward? This is exactly what I want him to feel.
Even though the north has many monsters it's not a big deal to me. The only problem is the reward I am receiving, it's just too much.
After sometime I kept the empty cup on the table "I accept."
He didn't give me any choice other than 'accept' though.
"But!" I paused and took a deep breath " On one condition."
"What is it?"
"I will work as his assistant only for an year." I answered.
"A- alright..." Though he was hasitating he had no choice.
....
In the snowy mountains of Alaska– the coldest place in the whole kingdom.
"Where am I?" A man whose hair is as white as the snow, and eyes dark brown which shines like gold under the rays of sun.
The man didn't wear much– leather boots, a pant, full sleeves shirt and a black fur coat. He was coverd in snow, and held a compass on his right hand when he woke up.
There is no habitat nearby only snow, and trees. The man didn't remember how he got here.
"Damn it!" He stood up and started walking towards a random direction with the last remaining strength he has in his body.
My legs have already become numb, and my hands are burning. I am hungry, but I have nothing to eat, just empty pockets. "It's so f...ing irritating!"
Just when he lost all hopes in life, he noticed a thin roadway with almost no snow over it. He started running towards the roadway– when he reached the middle he fell on the ground unconscious.
