Rein's POV
"I do not have time for this. Let us go," Gerald said, waving his hand dismissively as he turned away.
"Okay, sir," the guards responded in unison, tightening their grip and dragging him forward with rough force.
"Be careful with him!" Zuri shouted, her voice sharp and desperate, rushing beside them as they moved. Her fists clenched, helplessness burning in her eyes.
It did not take long before they reached the waiting horses.
I expected to follow them through the journey—I thought the book would allow me to witness the road ahead. But as I took a step forward, everything dissolved.
The scene changed.
Now I stood in a grand throne room. It was not empty. In fact, it was filled with people—none of whom I was familiar with. The atmosphere was tense, like they were all waiting for someone important.
