Chapter 11 - The Lieutenant 18+

Chapter eleven

Simon Riley

She's lying beneath me, skin flushed, lips swollen from our kisses, and eyes full of something I don't deserve. Her legs are tangled with mine, and her fingers trail slow, lazy circles on my chest like she owns me now.

Because she does.

She doesn't know it yet—but she's got me. Completely. Irrevocably.

I've never let anyone this close, never let them see this side of me—the one that craves, that aches for more than blood and orders and silence. But Lilly… she unraveled me, and I let her.

And now?

I'm not going back.

"You alright?" I ask, voice low, rough with the last hour of sin.

She shifts, sliding against me with a slow smirk. "I can't feel my legs. So… yeah. Definitely alright."

I laugh under my breath, the sound unfamiliar on my own tongue. She looks smug, gorgeous, glowing like a damn wildfire I walked straight into. And I don't even want to put it out.

I roll over her again, lips brushing her collarbone. "Think you can go again?"

She bites her lip. "You tell me, Lieutenant."

I'm halfway to making her beg when—

Bang bang bang.

A sharp knock at the door. Too loud. Too fast.

She freezes beneath me. I growl low in my throat, pressing my forehead to hers.

"You've got to be kidding me."

Another knock. Then a voice.

"Riley? You in there?"

Soap.

Of course it's Soap.

Lilly bites back a laugh, burying her face in my neck. I slide off the bed, grabbing my pants with a curse. "Stay here. Don't move."

"I wasn't planning on it."

I crack the door open just enough to see his face. He gives me one look, then raises an eyebrow, catching sight of my bare chest and probably the lipstick still smeared near my jaw.

"…You're not alone."

"Nope."

"Lilly?"

"Still not moving!" she calls sweetly from the bed.

Soap's eyes go wide. He grins like a bloody idiot. "Mate. I knew it. You owe me fifty bucks."

I groan. "Get lost, Johnny."

"Just checking you hadn't been kidnapped. Or killed. Or—" He leans closer, smirking. "—compromised."

I slam the door in his face.

Lilly's laughing under the sheets now, eyes gleaming with amusement. "You owe him fifty bucks?"

I climb back into bed, tugging her into my arms. "He'll be lucky if I don't kill him."

She leans in, pressing a slow kiss to my jaw. "So… where were we?"

I flip her onto her back again, voice dropping low in her ear. "Right about here."

And just like that, I forget about knocks, bets, and everyone else on this godforsaken base.

Because the only war I care about right now—

Is the one she's winning inside me.
