Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Inscribing Magic Scrolls

The inscription method was far simpler than Thunder had expected—even more straightforward than his **Five Radiances Divine Lightning Talisman**.

Then again, this was only a first-tier magic scroll. Thunder quickly dismissed his surprise.

He took out a trimmed piece of parchment, recalling the energy flow he'd observed earlier, and began inscribing.

One stroke, then another. In moments, the scroll was complete.

Though it looked effortless, this task was impossible for an ordinary person. Inscribing scrolls required not only mana but also precise control—knowing where to pour more energy and where to hold back. Simply copying the pattern wasn't enough.

Otherwise, mages wouldn't struggle with such low success rates.

First-tier scrolls weren't Thunder's ultimate goal, but they were perfect for practice—both in mastering this world's methods and honing his **Heavenly Master's Eyes**.

**Water Arrow, Wind Blade, Falling Thunder, Earth Spike…**

For each scroll, Thunder first activated his Eyes, studying every ripple of energy before replicating it.

He made two copies of each spell—even the second-tier ones.

Once finished, he eagerly gathered the talismans and rushed outside.

His heart pounded. This was just a test, but if it worked, his path in this world would become much smoother.

Standing in the courtyard, Thunder took a deep breath. He tore open the **Fireball** talisman and aimed at a nearby rock.

**Whoosh!**

The air grew scorching as a blazing sphere shot forth, striking the stone and scattering sparks.

**"Hah!"** Thunder burst into laughter. The flawless result thrilled him.

Suppressing his excitement, he channeled mana into the second Fireball talisman, this time using the Dragon-Tiger Sect's activation method.

Another success—but this fireball was **larger**, its heat more intense. The difference in techniques was clear: the sect's method amplified the spell's power.

The commotion drew the servants. Their jaws dropped as the courtyard erupted with flames, howling winds, crackling lightning, and piercing water arrows.

Carlos stared, disbelief written across his face.

**An omni-elemental mage?** The idea was absurd! Most mages could only wield one or two elements, yet this man had just demonstrated **fire, wind, water, lightning, and earth**—half the known magical spectrum.

For the finale, Thunder unleashed the remaining four talismans simultaneously—**"Flowers Scattered Like Rain,"** a Dragon-Tiger Sect technique.

A dazzling storm of intertwined spells lit up the sky.

As the spectacle faded, a guard dropped his tool on his own foot, yelping in pain.

**"Eat lunch without me. Don't disturb me,"** Thunder announced before darting back inside.

Inscribing so many scrolls had drained his mana. Activating the talismans had used his last reserves—he **needed** to recover.

Locking the door, he sat cross-legged on the bed, cycling the Dragon-Tiger Sect's cultivation technique to absorb ambient magic.

**Fast.** Faster than before—**several times over.** The world's abundant spiritual energy played a part, but the **Spirit-Calming Pearl** inside him was the true catalyst.

One of the pearl's functions was **gathering energy** for its user. Even without active cultivation, magic would naturally flow toward Thunder. But now, with focused effort, the effect was **exponential**.

Having grasped the basics of this world's scrolls, Thunder estimated his current mana reserves could handle **sixth-tier spells**—equivalent to a **high-tier mage**.

To inscribe higher-tier scrolls or talismans, he'd need to **cultivate relentlessly**, expanding both his mana pool and its purity.

Though the Spirit-Calming Pearl ensured all absorbed energy converted into mana—preventing true qi refinement—this was still a **leap** beyond his stagnant progress on Dragon-Tiger Mountain.

At the very least, Thunder was **delighted** with this world's spiritual density.

What did it matter if he inscribed magic scrolls instead of talismans? If he pushed his mana to its limits, perhaps the heavens would unveil another path to **transcendence**.

By evening, his mana had fully recovered. Stepping outside under a starry sky, he found Tifa dozing against the doorframe, her head bobbing.

**Silly girl.** Thunder sighed, scooping her into his arms to carry her to bed.

The movement startled her awake. She flailed briefly before freezing.

**"Stay still,"** Thunder chided. **"Why sleep out here? You'll catch a chill."**

Recognizing him, Tifa relaxed—though her face burned, and her body stiffened.

**"Young Master… you haven't eaten,"** she whispered. **"Put me down. I'll prepare your meal."**

**"Quiet."** Thunder swatted her backside lightly.

**"Eep!"** She stared at him wide-eyed before burying her face against his chest, too flustered to speak.

**Thump-thump. Thump-thump.**

Her heartbeat was loud against him, her body growing warmer and tenser by the second.

The Dragon-Tiger Sect didn't shy from matters of intimacy, but Tifa was **fifteen**—still a child in Thunder's eyes. He couldn't entertain such beastly thoughts.

In three strides, he deposited her in bed, tucking her in before turning to leave. The entire time, Tifa hid her face, too embarrassed to meet his gaze.

**"Young Master…"** Her voice stopped him at the door.

**"Hmm?"** He turned to see her peeking at him, eyes timid.

**"There's meat broth in the pot… heat it yourself."**

**"Mn."**

**Will Thunder's mastery of magic bring power—or unforeseen consequences?**
