Sonia sat on her bed with her hand supporting her jaw wishing the week runs so fast, she was already bored being at home and she isn't sure she can keep up with it anymore.
A knock came to her door and Michael came in before Sonia could respond.
"Hi Sonia", Michael greeted while bringing his eyes low.
"Hi Michael", Sonia responded a bit uninterested.
"See…. I know I didn't treat you well..I'm really sorry Sonia, I'm sorry for raising my voice on you and for walking out on you", Michael apologized while fiddling his hands.
"Okay" Sonia said avoiding any form of eye contact.
"Come on Sonia, you have every right to be mad at me but please not for too long", Michael said coming closer to her.
"Who said I'm angry", Sonia scoffed leaning away from him.
"I know you are, you can't lie to me baby", Michael commented.
"Okay fine…. tell me, why are you always in a hurry to leave, what's wrong and better don't tell me it's business cos I'm not believing that trash anymore", Sonia asked raising up her voice a bit.
Michael's face darkened. He wouldn't want to lie to her but he's also scared of telling her the truth.
He's unaware of how she would react to the situation and how it will affect their marriage of barely a week.
"I'm waiting", Sonia said looking at him.
"Can't I tell you this some other time please"? Michael asked trying to negotiate.
"If not now, then it's never so you better start talking or you leave the room in peace", Sonia said raising up her right hand while pointing at the door.
"Okay fine…., you don't have to ask me out of the room you know", Michael said staring at her.
"Then you better start talking and you better don't lie to me", Sonia said
Michael looked down as he opened up his mouth to talk but words failed him.
"Okay the thing is that you have to promise me first that you wouldn't leave me after this", Michael said blinking his eyes.
"Can't really promise though, not like I know what you're about telling me", Sonia said.
"Did you kill someone, are you a serial killer or wait maybe you're one of those bandits", Sonia asked widening her eyes.
Michael laughed reducing the tension which had already built up in the room.
"Ahhh..no nah, is that how bad you see me", Michael said still laughing.
"Cos I think that's the only thing that will make me leave you nii", Sonia said smiling.
"Oh, nice one, so it's none of those things you said", Michael said.
"The thing is that….. on my 16th birthday, a man who was my dad's business competitor drugged me and after that day, everything changed", Michael said hissing remembering how it went that day.
"What changed", Sonia asked becoming more interested in the story.
Michael gave out a sigh before he continued.
"Everything…. I became a nympho since that day. I became hypersexual and everything I've tried to solve the problem has proved abortive. No medicine, no cure just nothing", Michael said biting his lips as his eyes became teary.
Sonia became speechless. She wasn't expecting any of these. She had heard the rumor about his sexual activities but he didn't know it was this deep.
She went closer to Michael as she enveloped him in a warm hug, resting her head on his shoulder.
"It's okay babe…. we'll find a way out of this mess", Sonia said patting his back.
Michael bowed his head down not uttering a word but he felt warm and a wave of peace, feeling relieved that he could finally share his burden with someone after many years without being condemned or critcized.
"Thank you babe…", he finally said raising up his head. "I'm super grateful, Atleast I feel free at last", Michael added looking at her as smile escaped his lips and his eyes curled up.
"You're welcome…. so I'll start my research on that as soon as I resume work on Monday and hopefully, everything will be sorted out in no distant time and I want to assure you that I'll always stand by you", Sonia said not blinking an eye.
"Okay…I love you", Michael said.
Sonia coughed at the end of his statement. She hasn't heard that from him before, this was actually the first time.
"I'll see you later, need to rest", Michael said getting up as he gave her a peck and left the room.
Sonia kept looking at the door, her brain went blank. The three words and the peck still kept playing in her head.
Her thought drifted to what Michael just told her about his problem and she knew she have to do something and should be very quick about it.
Her mind went to the chief doctor that works in the hospital where she works. He would be the best person to provide the cure cos he's known for the works of his hands and he's perfect with experiments.
Just that thought made her happy and she was already wishing that the next day gonna be Monday already.
She laid on the bed enjoying the moment to the fullest.
The house was bright with the house keepers walking around and doing their diffeeent chores.
Jane walked passed her colleagues and went to her usual point which is the backyard to take a call.
She searched for her phone which has been ringing inside her pocket. She picked the call without any further delay.
"Good evening boss", Jane greeted almost immediately.
"Where have you kept your phone and I've been calling since God knows when", the voice from the background said not responding to the greeting.
"Em..em…I was working inside, I just had to leave to answer the call, I'm sorry boss", Jane said apologetically.
"You better be sorry", the voice responded. "So how's it going, any improvement yet", he asked.
"He's still controlled and I'm still adding the drug to his meal tonight as planned", Jane said lowering her voice.
"Good, good, that's fine", the voice commended.
"I'll give you a different task next week and I would want it to be smooth without any trace but by then…", the voice said with each word carrying weight.
"Alright boss", Jane said feeling nervous.
The call ended and Jane couldn't think less of what her next mission would be but whatever it is, she's ready cos the pay is always high.
