Chapter 8 - Recycling

"It's already night... Don't you want to go home... Meli?"

For a moment... Her beautiful hair was gently swept by the wind, her sweet smile did not disappear, just stuck there. The moonlight at that time was bright, so bright like pure light that eliminated darkness.

"No... Forget about me, why did you come back here? I told you not to come here again, right?" Meli said calmly.

Azka clenched his fists, his head lowered, and in that silence... His tears fell.

"Please... Meli," he said, his sobs disturbing his tone.

"I've never seen anyone more stupid than you," Meli answered without the slightest sarcasm, even seemed... Soft.

Now... Meli stood up, stepped forward to look at Azka's face closely, her lonely and painful smile felt so real... Making Azka's chest feel tight.

His eyes were dim, his wounds were much clearer, his smile... Cold.

"Don't cry, you have nothing to worry about."

Azka tried to wipe his tears, wipe away all his sadness there.

Now Meli stepped away, sat back on the window frame, her lonely smile never left, her expression remained the same.

"Hey... Come here."

Now they both stared at each other, under the warm shining moon, two different gazes from each other. Meli's hand was raised pointing towards the moon.

"Is she beautiful, the moon?"

Azka stared at the moon, the light that looked majestic... Bright in the midst of the darkness of something.

"I don't understand why she wants to shine," he said in a soft tone.

"If I could fly... I want to reach her, and I will ask her... Aren't you tired."

The wind blew softly, the harmony of her voice was so beautiful, soft, and comfortable.

"I don't want to go home."

"TIRTA!!!"

The scream woke Tirta up instantly, he widened his eyes in surprise, and when he stared he found himself still in Monas. He turned his head, Astri was already near him with a worried expression.

Tirta got up slowly with a sore head.

"Where is Kunti?" He said with a slight groan of pain accompanying him.

Astri rubbed her face tiredly, then her pair of eyes stared at him with an expression that had now changed to lazy.

"Seriously, you woke up from a shaking body like this, and after saying strange things while you were unconscious, now you immediately ask about Kunti's condition?" Astri asked sarcastically.

Tirta was pensive, then he raised one eyebrow in confusion.

"I... Mumbled something while I was unconscious?" He asked curiously.

Astri took a deep breath, then nodded quickly.

"Exactly like that, you always say words that I don't understand, even your mumbling alone makes me dizzy."

Tirta clicked his tongue, rolling his eyes lazily.

"Then... Where is Kunti now? How is she?" He said in a tone that had now changed to soft.

Astri raised one hand, then she pointed to Tirta's side.

"She's resting, just leave it like that, it seems like after undergoing recycling she needs a little rest."

Tirta got up, now directly facing Kunti who was lying unconscious, observing her and making sure nothing happened to her. The contamination had completely disappeared, nothing was spreading in her body anymore.

Tirta sighed in relief, he rubbed his chest slowly, grateful that everything had gone safely.

"So... How was the test that you and Kunti went through? You as the one who accompanied her should know, right?"

A moment of silence filled, Tirta was silent for a moment, stringing together words in his head, then he just shook his head slowly.

"No... I didn't see anything, I remember something... But it was a little vague, I don't remember clearly." He said.

Astri stared silently, as if gazing into Tirta's head deeply. After a few moments, he shrugged his shoulders casually.

"Well... Recycling does have many things that will be forgotten, not many of them really remember."

Tirta rolled his eyes lazily, with a soft sigh he stood up, then lifted Kunti's body who was still lying helplessly.

"What's clear is that I will move her."

"Where?" Astri interrupted with a seductive face that made anyone annoyed to see it.

"Anywhere, as long as Kunti can rest in peace."

Now... Tirta was sitting outside the window, the sunlight at noon made his fragile body look transparent, he was pensive... And his hand was holding a shiny object.

"When I first became a free spirit... There was something unique about me, I don't remember for sure, but... From the beginning I held my own legacy, and from then on... I chose to be the protector of all."

He stared at the dazzling sunlight, listening to the harmonious and unified chirping of birds. His gaze fell back... On a binacle that he held tightly.

"This is the only thing... That is on me, including my own legacy."

He raised the object high, matching its glint with the bright sunlight.

"Why did this object become my legacy? Was this object an important thing when I was alive?"

"Son Tirta." Called a voice from another direction.

Tirta gasped in surprise, then his hand quickly hid the binacle that he had been holding.

Now he looked straight, seeing a middle-aged woman, her thin smile felt so friendly, and as if there was an aura of warmth spreading around her.

"Yes? What's wrong, Mrs. Lia?" Tirta asked while maintaining a polite and authoritative tone.

Mrs. Lia chuckled softly, then she took a few steps to get a little closer to Tirta with her thin, mischievous smile.

"What did you see earlier, Tirta? Was that a gift from that girl? As I thought, your relationship is more than friends, huh?"

Bitter laughter came from Tirta, he shook his head slowly to answer it.

"No, we're just friends, nothing more," he said calmly.

Mrs. Lia now approached more, sitting beside Tirta with a warm smile that was increasingly obvious.

"Why hesitate Tirta? Remember, love is the greatest gift for free spirits like us, even though we can no longer hope to live, we can still feel it, and even create a family."

Tirta scratched his head awkwardly.

"I didn't think that far, he's just... A free spirit that I guided, I just felt like that," he said calmly defending himself.

Mrs. Lia took a deep breath, then gently shook her head.

"Okay... By the way, he's alone right now, don't you want to talk to him?"

A feeling of discomfort appeared in Tirta's heart, he hated being cornered, but no matter what, the figure in front of him right now made him unable to fight back at all, he nodded silently.

His feet slowly stepped into the old house, now catching Kunti's figure standing on the window frame, looking up.

"The sun is beautiful, huh." Tirta greeted.

"No... I hate it, the sunlight only makes us look dim, instead of that I prefer the moon." Kunti answered vaguely, without any expression at all.

"That reminds me of something," Tirta thought, in silence a flash of the mysterious girl's memory in the recycling exam crossed his head.

Now Tirta changed his expression to look at Kunti with his cheerful face that was clearly visible.

"By the way, tomorrow come with me to the supernatural festival." Tirta said in a light tone.

"What?"
