Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Breaking the Silence

Chapter 24: Breaking the Silence

Kian and Eva were tangled in the sheets, their bodies intertwined as though they belonged to each other. The air was thick with the scent of their passion—intense, heady, and undeniable. He could feel the heat of her body pressed against his, the rhythm of her breathing in sync with his own.

Her fingers trailed along his chest, brushing against the bite marks she had left earlier. Kian felt the tenderness there, the quiet sting that was both a claim and a memory. He could still taste her on his lips, the remnants of their kiss lingering, urging him to lose himself in her once again.

Eva, her head nestled against his shoulder, moved lazily, her lips tracing the line of his collarbone. She bit down gently on his skin, and Kian groaned—a sound that was half pleasure, half frustration. She was a contradiction, this woman—tender and fierce, gentle and demanding. He was addicted to every part of her.

He turned his head to meet her gaze, and in that moment, everything was clear. She was here. With him. Completely.

"You leave marks," Kian whispered, his voice rough, like he hadn't spoken in years. He ran his fingers over the fresh marks she'd left on his neck, her brand on his skin.

Eva smirked, her fingers trailing down his side. "I do what I want."

She leaned in again, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, "I'll never let anyone else touch you. You're mine."

His breath caught at the words, a surge of possessiveness flaring in his chest. He didn't know why it affected him so much, but it did. Maybe it was because he could feel the truth in her words, a truth that resonated deep within him. He belonged to her, and there was no question about it.

Kian's lips met hers again, slower this time, savoring the taste of her, the sensation of being so close to her. His hands roamed to her back, pulling her against him, as if trying to fuse their bodies together. But then, as if sensing his need to deepen their connection, she broke away, smiling wickedly.

"You want me?" she asked, voice teasing.

He nodded, barely able to control himself. "Always."

Eva rolled on top of him, straddling his waist. Her hands ran over his chest, her nails grazing his skin just enough to make him shiver. She leaned down, brushing her lips over his again, this time more languidly, as if savoring the moment.

"You'll never leave me," she said softly, her breath warm against his skin.

Kian didn't respond right away. He didn't need to. His body already answered for him.

She bit down on his shoulder, another mark forming on his skin, and Kian's breath hitched. He could feel the fire building between them, the tension, the heat, the need.

But before they could lose themselves entirely, a soft noise broke the tension. A knock.

It was quiet, but persistent.

Kian froze, his eyes darting toward the door. The knock came again, louder this time. He sat up, pulling the sheets around his waist, his pulse racing.

"Who the hell…" he muttered, his voice low and confused. He looked at Eva, who was still lying on the bed, her expression calm, unfazed.

"Ignore it," she said, her voice casual, as though she had expected this interruption. She didn't seem disturbed by it at all.

Kian stood, walking toward the door, his footsteps quiet on the hardwood floor. He was about to say something to her—something to reassure her that it wasn't important—but then he heard a voice from the other side of the door.

"Son," came the deep, authoritative voice of Victor Fenix, his father. "It's me. Open up."

Kian's hand froze on the door handle. His father? Of course. He hadn't realized the time had passed so quickly. But there was no way his father would be able to come in without a key. The house was locked. And yet, there was a knock at the door.

Kian sighed, his irritation building. He wasn't ready for this. He wasn't ready for anything beyond the world he'd just shared with Eva.

He turned to look back at her, the frustration clear on his face. "Ignore it," he said firmly, though part of him knew it was pointless.

But when he looked back at the door, expecting to see his father's hand on the handle, he saw nothing.

The room was empty.

Eva was gone.

His heart skipped a beat as he rushed to the window. There she was, standing by the sleek black car parked outside. Her form was silhouetted in the dim light, but he could see the way she moved—graceful, purposeful. It was as if she had already known what would happen, as if she had already made up her mind.

Without hesitation, Kian opened the window, the cool air rushing in as he leaned out, his eyes fixed on Eva. She was leaving. And she hadn't even said goodbye.

A pang of something he couldn't quite name clenched at his chest. But before he could call out, she was already in the car, the engine revving to life.

And then, as if to leave him with one last reminder of her, Eva placed something on the table inside the room. A note.

Kian's breath caught as he looked down at it. He reached for the note, his hands shaking just slightly as he read the words scrawled in a confident, familiar handwriting.

"See u again."

It was as if she'd never been there. As if she had slipped away without leaving a trace, except for the mark she'd left on his soul.

His father knocked again, louder now, but Kian ignored it. The note, the car, and Eva slipping away—none of it made sense, but he could feel it in his gut. She was leaving. But for how long?

Kian didn't have the answers. He only had one truth: he belonged to her. And that was the only thing that mattered now.
