Dear Diary,
I can feel it. Something is coming.
It's not just the strange dreams. It's not just the pull of the crown or the whispers I hear at night. It's real — the enemy is out there. And they know I'm alive.
School was a blur. I couldn't focus on anything but the dark figure I'd seen in my vision. I couldn't shake the feeling that someone — or something — was watching me. But every time I looked over my shoulder, there was nothing there.
It wasn't until the end of the day, when I was walking to my locker, that I saw it.
A black feather.
It was tucked into the side of my locker, as if someone had placed it there intentionally. I picked it up, my fingers trembling as I held it. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen before — sleek, dark, almost shimmering with an unnatural energy.
I heard Malik's voice in my head, his warning echoing through my thoughts.
"They know you're awake. The enemy is watching. You're in danger."
I shoved the feather into my bag and rushed out of the school, my heart racing. I couldn't let them find me. Not yet. Not until I was ready.
But I knew one thing for sure. The enemy was coming, and they wouldn't stop until they had what they wanted.
