Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Treasures That Defy Time

The sun had vanished behind the mountains, yet the night did not bring darkness.

A convoy advanced slowly through the eternal forest, taking hidden paths unseen by ordinary eyes. Twenty armored vehicles, each reinforced with containment runes and spiritual wards, were escorted by elite soldiers from the fortress.

They carried no weapons. They carried possibilities.

Only two people knew the true magnitude of what approached: Diego and his father, Rodrigo. Both had attended the most secretive auction on the continent—and returned with a hoard that could reshape the course of an era.

During those intense hours, they acquired over thirty common relics—weapons, talismans, and artifacts with practical use and latent power.

But among all the items, three stood out like titans among shadows.

Three relics fought over by warlords, hidden factions, centuries-old collectors, and even twisted cultivator sects.Three artifacts that had survived time, history… and oblivion.

The pendant of Nefertari. The Crown of Saint Edward. And Excalibur, the Sword of King Arthur.

They were not mere reminders of kings and queens. They were incarnated fragments of will.

The convoy reached the fortress gates. No announcement was made. No celebration sounded.Only the respectful silence of those who knew this moment would be remembered in the future as the day ancient power returned.

Each artifact was unloaded with care. The common ones would be stored, analyzed, and cataloged.

But the three most important were taken directly to the Sanctum of the Soul, a sealed chamber deep beneath the fortress, reinforced with protective runes, nullification fields, and walls forged from celestial metal.

Only Diego and Rodrigo entered.

When the last door closed, the world seemed to hold its breath.

One by one, the sacred wrappings around the relics were removed. The seals—written in oath-bound blood and voice-activated—crumbled like dust in Diego's presence.

And then… the air trembled. As if fate itself recognized what was unfolding.

✦ 1. Nefertari's Pendant – "Tear of the Nile"

A delicate gold pendant with an opal that shimmered like the dawn. Suspended by threads of enchanted silver, its presence didn't impose—it enchanted.

History & Power:Belonged to Nefertari, Great Queen of Egypt. More than a consort, she was a visionary. It is said she communed through the pendant with entities beyond the veil, drawing wisdom from forgotten gods. Upon death, she sealed her soul within, to protect the Nile's heart in times of need.

Abilities:

Queen's Memories: grants visions of the past and long-lost secrets through dreams.

Blessing of Isis: summons a barrier of pure water that nullifies poison, curses, and spiritual attacks.

Sight of Two Realms: detects lies, emotional disturbances, and soul corruption.

Passives:+20% magic resistance

enhanced spiritual perception

affinity with ancient ley lines

When Diego touched it, a feminine voice echoed in his mind:

—You have returned, bearer of judgment. Do not fall where so many have.

✦ 2. The Crown of Saint Edward – "Voice of the Silent Empire"

Forged from divine gold, the crown did not shine… it resonated. A subtle vibration surrounded it, like the echo of millions of long-dead subjects.

History & Power:Used by generations of English monarchs, this crown sealed an ancient pact between humanity and the divine. It was said that one who wore it was not just a king… but a conduit for the Silent Kingdom, an incorporeal force governing all order.

Abilities:

Mandate of the Silent Kingdom: the wearer's voice imprints upon the souls of all who hear it.

Shield of Royal Will: once per day, nullifies a hostile action from any spiritually inferior enemy.

Judgment of Fallen Kings: summons a spectral council of ancient monarchs for guidance—or condemnation.

Passives:+30% resistance to mind control

enhanced influence in organized environments

heightened mental clarity during critical decisions

Rodrigo flinched when he touched the crown. Diego simply looked at it and said:

—This crown does not choose rulers… it tests them.

✦ 3. Excalibur – "The Blade of the Impossible Oath"

An ancient blade, clean, unadorned… yet heavier than all the air in the room.

History & Power:Forged at the intersection of three worlds, it was gifted to King Arthur by an entity neither man nor god. Excalibur was not made to win wars—it was forged to uphold the promise of a just world. Those who wielded it without faith… were destroyed.

Abilities:

Awakening of the Sleeping Realm: severs the enemy's "destiny" during a life-or-death moment.

Strike of the Fallen Hero: pierces illusions, barriers, and lies alike.

Flame of the Oath: ignites in sacred fire when wielded for a true vow.

Passives:

bypasses weak magical defenses

strengthens the soul when fighting for others

responds only to those with purpose, not ambition

When Diego gripped the sword, the blade sang.A melody without sound… felt only by the soul.

And then, the sword spoke:

—You too… will attempt the impossible?

Diego smiled.—Not because I want to.But because no one else can.

And so, three fragments of ancient power were reborn in the hands of a young man who had died once… and returned with purpose.

And the world… felt the change.
