His hand snaked around her waist, closing the space between them. He leaned in closer, his other hand brushing against her ear slightly, "Do you want it?"
Her lips parted slightly as she observed the unusually, beautiful undead man in front of her, asking for a kiss.
Well, he did have lips made to kiss, but.. there was this unsettling feeling in her stomach as though she were committing some kind of sin, or she was betraying someone. For some reason, it just wouldn't go away.
"Kiss..?" Her words trailed off, lost in his sharp eyes.
Her heart was racing twice as fast as it normally did. Chills travelled up and down her spine as she tried to process what exactly was going on.
He watched her pupils dilate as she was still considering his question. He slowly unwrapped his hand from around her waist, "You must be hungry. Come with me," he finally turned on his heels walking away.
She released a breath she didn't know she had been holding, "Oh my gosh," she exhaled deeply, "That didn't just happen right?" Her eyes widen, her chest bopping up, and down.
He turned, "Are you not coming? You wouldn't want to get chased by another group of zombies, would you?" He arched his brows, searching her face for any hint of refute.
She just shrugged her shoulders, "Of course, I'd definitely not want that," she took quick little steps to reach his side.
"How do you have food?" She threw him a quizzical glance.
"It is all thanks to my system. It helps me to find seeds for food, then I plant it, then boom, it is already bearing fruits in a few days."
"Wow, those are like.. magic seeds?" She looked up at him with widened eyes.
He twisted his lips, his ears twitching. Stopping in his tracks, he quickly whipped his head sideways, "Uhm, I think a shambler is headed this way," he smacked his right hand.
She blinked, "Another one? Why are they everywhere?" She gasped, pulling out her small dagger.
A small smirk appeared at the corner of his lips, "Enjoy it while it lasts ice cubes," he took some steps in the direction of where a screeching sound was coming from.
She followed closely behind him, "What do you mean by that?"
"I would explain later," he suddenly pulled out a kitana from nowhere, running towards the shambler in sight.
Soo Min-ji stood there as she watched him cut off the shambler's head with one quick, clean swipe of the sword.
"Wow," her eyes widened, "He is--"
Another Shambler leapt in sight, but he was quick to dodge its blows, then poke him through the head, the sword sticking out on the other side.
"Tch," he scoffed.
"He is literally killing his kind?" A furrow rested on her forehead, "Why?" She mumbled under her breath.
He waved the sword a little, before sliding it back into its sheath, "Phew."
He looked back at Soo Min-ji, "They are gone now," he shot her a wink.
Her cheeks burned, as she walked towards him, "You seem to be already acquainted with them."
He exhaled deeply, his eyes darkening, "I am one of them," he clapped dust out of his hands.
She just stared at him in awe, "You seem too good to be true, it is as if you are doing all these for something, something I can't quite grasp yet." her shoulders drooped.
He only tilted his head a little, "Oh well, guess what?"
"Hm?"
"I said guess," he ruffled her head, walking past her back to the direction from which they came.
Her stomach churned, "He is so hard to understand. Aegenesis, how authentic do you think he is. I still don't think he is trustworthy," she muttered.
[Beep! He does seem trustworthy enough!]
"Seem.. you say," she folded her arms across her chest, "Try seeing if you can scan any information of him."
[Beep! Scanning in progress...]
[Almost complete]
[Error: couldn't retrieve anything.]
She scoffed, "What do you mean by that?*"She tried to keep her voice cool.
Why would her system suddenly not be able to get information, or didn't its specialty cover that too?
"Hello? Pretty human?"
She whipped her head up to see him, standing afar off, "Come on, let us go get you something to eat."
Her heart fluttered. He didn't seem so bad, he was already treating her nicely, but still..
She scurried over to where she stood, watching her with those amused, beautiful eyes, "Stop looking at me like that, else you'd just fall in love," she raised her nose in pretend annoyance.
He tilted his head backwards, arching a brow, "Oh really?" A smirk played at the corner of his lips. He resumed his steps, "What makes you think a dead man would fall in love again?" He shoved his hands into his pockets, snickering.
The creases on her forehead slowly disappeared as his words sank in. Her heart sank for some kind of reason, "What.."
Why did that even matter? He was right, he was a dead man. What was she thinking?
"Too much of fairytales. Of course, these things don't happen," she rolled her eyes, even though she was slightly hurt by his words, she was just trying to shove that feeling away.
"Dead beings like us don't deserve love, all we want is just a little fun, perhaps to get a chance to maybe live again? I guess."
He casually shrugged his shoulders, leading her on.
"Do you think so already? Why do you think a zombie would be reborn twice? Just to constantly live the life you lost?" She placed a hand on his arm, "You might be wrong."
He laughed, "What? Do you think I would fall in love? And if I did, with who? You?" He looked over his shoulders, down at her, "Hm?"
An unusual chill walked down her spine, and back up. What exactly was she expecting?
"I didn't mean it that way," she swallowed hard, her cheeks beginning to flush, "I mean you are good looking and all--"
"You think I am good looking?" He threw her a knowing glance.
Her heart skipped several beats in that second, "No, no I mean," she stuttered, her chest threatening to burst open.
"It is okay," he chuckled, rubbing his neck, "You are very pretty too," he quickly looked away before she would notice the cherry red blush spread across his pale face.
She let out a shaky breath. This was weird, was she bonding with a dead man?
