Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 : Royal class Rank. Preparation for Future

[Late Night – Ameri's Room, Student Council Manor]

Ameri Azazel sat at her desk, staring at her phone screen, the blue glow illuminating her focused—and very flustered—expression.

Her date plan was complete: a carefully detailed itinerary with phases, backup plans, and "emergency charm actions" color-coded in red.

And yet…

"I can't send this. It's too forward. No—he might think I'm desperate!"

She erased the draft for the third time.

Just as she groaned and buried her face in her arms—

Ping!

Her phone vibrated.

--

A text from Iruma.

Iruma: "Hey Ameri-san! When would you like to go on our date? I'm free this weekend."

AHHHH!!!

Her heart leapt into her throat.

After a moment of hyperventilating and pacing, she replied with a calm and composed:

Ameri: "This Saturday. I'll send you the location shortly. Looking forward to it."

Then threw her phone across the bed and screamed into her pillow.

A minute later, her phone buzzed again.

Iruma: "I'm looking forward to it too."

--

Ameri froze, cheeks flushed red.

"He's looking forward to it…"

She twirled on her heels in a dreamy daze before snapping back to reality.

"What should I wear!?"

She threw open her closet and began flipping through her dresses when—

"Ameri."

Her door slammed open.

Henri Azazel, her father, stood tall and proud, his arms crossed.

"You're cleaning out your closet. At night. With a full dress plan. Are you going on a date with that boy Iruma?"

"Wha—NO!! I-I was just... organizing! You told me a tidy demon is a strong demon!"

Henri raised a skeptical brow, then relaxed.

"Very good. Then I shall accompany you tomorrow to buy a few new outfits to reward your discipline."

Ameri stiffened. "N-no thank you!"

Henri blinked. "…You don't want to go shopping with me?"

His eyes briefly dimmed, and in that flicker, a memory surfaced—

A young Ameri once tugged on his coat and shyly asked:

"Daddy... when I grow up, can we go on a date together?"

Back in the present, she avoided his gaze.

"I'm sorry... not tomorrow."

Henri nodded silently and left.

Ameri shut her door gently.

Then immediately collapsed backward on her bed, clutching a blue dress to her chest.

"Iruma-kun… just wait. I'll show you my best self."

--

[Date Day – Lady Levi's Aqua Case]

Lady Levi's Aqua Case was a fantasy resort resembling a glowing oceanic paradise, with water tunnels, coral-themed structures, and a massive indoor sea.

Iruma walked up in a pair of newly rented blue swim trunks, gawking at the beauty of it all.

Then Ameri appeared.

Wearing a modest yet flattering swimsuit wrapped in a sheer sarong, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"H-Hello, Iruma-kun."

"Ameri-san! Wow… you look… cool!"

Cool!? Just cool!?

Ameri froze, debating whether to take it as a compliment or declaration of war.

She breathed in. Phase one: Hold his hand casually.

They walked side-by-side.

Ameri's hand drifted toward his.

Just as she was about to brush against it—

"Oh! A waterslide!" Iruma exclaimed. "Wanna try it?"

He dashed ahead.

Her hand missed entirely.

--

[Waterslide – Recreation Area]

After several rides and splashes, Ameri wiped her face and huffed. "Okay. Phase two."

She led him to the Recreation Sea, a saltwater pool designed to look like an ocean shore.

This time for sure! A meaningful moment under the sea breeze...

As Iruma splashed nearby, she moved closer.

Then, a volleyball flew and hit her in the face.

"Ah—!"

"Sorry!!" Clara yelled from a distant court.

Ameri sighed.

--

[Souvenir Shop]

Iruma stared at a row of souvenirs.

"What do you think Clara would like?"

Ameri handed him a pink bouncy slime with big eyes.

"She'd love this. It's chaotic. Like her."

Iruma smiled. "You're amazing, Ameri-san."

She turned red.

"W-wait! I'm helping my rival… again!"

[Fortune Telling Show – Mako-chan]

Ameri led Iruma into a glowing, mysterious dome.

"This is where our fate will be determined."

Inside, the eccentric fortune-teller Mako-chan, a sentient jellyfish demon in a dress, waved her tentacles.

"Oooooh! I smell a romantic vibe! Let me taste—"

CHOMP!

Mako lunged at Iruma.

"KYAAAA!!"

Iruma barely dodged, sliding across the wet floor.

"My cologne wore off!!"

"Iruma-kun!!"

Ameri dove between them and kicked Mako-chan away, panting.

"…Why does this keep happening? Every time I try to get closer, something ruins it..."

Iruma suddenly noticed a scratch on her leg.

Without a word, he scooped her up.

"Iruma-kun!?"

With a whisper to his ring—

"Fractal."

A weight-reducing spell.

"You've protected me so many times today… Let me return the favor."

Ameri blinked.

"…You're not upset?"

"Not at all. I had a lot of fun."

He smiled softly.

"It was… really nice being with you, Ameri-san."

Ameri's heart pounded.

Her lips trembled before curling into a shy smile.

"Then… I consider this date an absolute success."

---

[Sullivan Manor – Study Room]

Under the warm glow of the chandelier, Iruma scribbled the final strokes of his assignment, his brows furrowed in concentration. Opera, seated beside him with a cup of steaming tea, silently observed with folded arms.

"Done!" Iruma exhaled and stretched, relief pouring over him. "That's the last of Kalego-sensei's homework…"

Opera gave an approving nod. "Good. You finished with time to spare. Lord Sullivan should—"

"IRUMA-!!"

The door burst open.

Lord Sullivan floated in on a sparkling magical cloud, arms spread wide like a stage performer.

"My beloved grandson! Homework is out of the way, so now… it's time for a shopping trip! For your next term!"

Iruma blinked. "Wait—shopping? Right now?"

"Yes!" Sullivan placed oversized, novelty-looking glasses on Iruma's face.

"These are anti-detection glasses! No one will recognize you. You're quite famous now, you know."

Opera sighed. "Just don't forget to eat on time."

-

[Magical Street]

The bustling Magical Street shimmered under the etherlights, lined with shops that sold everything from potions to living scarves. As Sullivan stepped foot into the marketplace, a crowd of demons surged forward.

"Lord Sullivan!!"

"Autograph!"

"When will the next magic toy line release!?"

Meanwhile, Iruma—completely unrecognized thanks to the glasses—walked safely by Sullivan's side.

"It really works…" he muttered.

They went store to store.

First were robes and formal attire—Sullivan fussing over Iruma like a doting mother, holding up capes, jackets, even a suit that sparkled like a disco ball.

"How about this one? You'll look ravishing!"

Iruma chuckled. "Maybe something more… modest?"

Next came accessories, where Iruma tried on magical rings that whispered compliments and belts that adjusted themselves.

Then, finally, the bookstore.

Sullivan buzzed between shelves, while Iruma wandered to the fantasy and prophecy section.

Just then, two demons whispered near the counter:

"Did you hear? That Iruma kid from Babyls might be the next Demon King."

"Sullivan's doting on him like crazy. Wouldn't be surprised."

Iruma stiffened.

Me… Demon King?

Suddenly—

"Stop, thief!"

Lord Sullivan lunged after a shoplifter with shocking agility, magically binding the culprit mid-air with a casual flick of his fingers.

Iruma watched, both amazed and amused.

-

[Outside – Overlooking the City]

Their bags floating behind them, Sullivan and Iruma leaned against a railing that overlooked the vibrant Netherworld.

"Iruma-chan," Sullivan began, voice softening, "next term will be more intense. Your class is getting a lot of attention... especially now that you're in the Royal One."

Iruma nodded. "Yeah… I want to be ready."

He hesitated.

"Sullivan... what does it take to become the Demon King?"

Sullivan froze.

The world seemed to slow.

-

[Flashback: Long Ago – A Palace Balcony]

A younger Sullivan stood beside Demon King Derkila, the wind brushing through their hair. Derkila laughed heartily.

"If I disappear one day, I wonder what kind of world will come next."

Sullivan looked up to him, both reverent and uncertain.

---

[Back in the Present]

A tear welled up in Sullivan's eye.

He immediately pulled Iruma into a tight hug, sobbing.

"You want to become the Demon King!? I'm so proud! My adorable grandson ascending to the throne—!"

"W-Wait! That's not what I meant!" Iruma flailed. "I just wanted to know how someone becomes the Demon King!"

Sullivan sniffled and let go, composing himself.

"Ahem. Well… the Thirteen Crowns are the ones who decide. They vote on who's worthy."

"The Demon King rules over everything—the balance of power, magic regulations, all of it."

Sullivan's voice softened. "I always worried I'd never live up to Lord Derkila's legacy. But if I were Demon King, I'd make a world themed after you. All Iruma. All the time."

Iruma laughed nervously. "That might be… too much."

Sullivan gave him a warm smile. "I'd love to see the world you would create, Iruma-chan. Whatever you choose… I'll support you."

Just then, Opera arrived with the magical carriage.

Iruma stepped inside, glancing once more at the city lights.

"A world I'd create…?"

He clutched the bag containing a scroll labeled Demon King Prophecy.

[Sullivan Manor – Iruma's Room, Night]

In bed, Iruma read the scroll by lantern light.

The parchment detailed vague verses, foretelling a future Demon King born from unusual origins.

The symbols eerily aligned with his own life.

"Could this… really mean me?"

He mulled it over, eyes drooping, and eventually fell asleep with the scroll still in his hands.

[Next Morning – Iruma's Room]

"FOOLISH HUMAN HOST!"

Alikred materialized with a huff.

"You fell asleep with your guard down! Prophecies are dangerous!"

"S-sorry!" Iruma panicked, rubbing his eyes.

[Babyls Academy – Classroom]

Iruma arrived with Azz and Clara, cheerful but nervous.

In class, Professor Kalego stood at the front, eyes sharp.

A massive scroll unfurled mid-air, glowing with official Royal One enchantments.

"As of this term, all students within the Royal One class are required to raise their rank to Dalet before advancing to second year. Failure to do so will result in expulsion from the Royal One."

Gasps echoed through the classroom.

"What!?"

"Raise rank to Dalet [4]!?"

"Well we are all fine except!?"

Looking at Lied , kerori , Elizabetta , kamui. They are rank [3] Gimmel ,

Iruma sat in stunned silence, the weight of the prophecy, his shopping trip, and this new challenge all colliding in his mind. We are safe..
