Chapter 60: Kalling Kadabra
~Third POV~
[Kanto Region, Later, Saffron City – Silph Co.]
Meanwhile, back at Silph Co., in Saffron City, Sabrina silently receives the Grunts' report of failure in Cinnabar in a scared tone, "I've just returned and…"
The Grunt Al explained the loss of what happened during Cinnabar Island. Sabrina's eyes narrowed as her eyes glowed an ominous blue energy…
*CRACK*
The glass cracks from one of the nearby windows of Silph Co. due to Sabrina's Psychic Powers. The grunt pales as Koga mocks her for the loss, "Couldn't capture Blaine even with Moltres, hm? And to make matters worse, one of our Team Rocket Elite Trio Subordinates, Al, lost it to a kid."
Sabrina glares at Koga as she replies harshly, causing the ninja to glare at her in return, "I'm sorry, but who lost the trail of Articuno having their elite force frozen? Oh, wait, that's right, you."
At the same time, Giovanni receives a report from Lt. Surge as he said in a proud tone, showing the video of the two together, "This is a message from the abandoned Power Plant! We have captured a Zapdos!"
Zapdos was successfully captured in the Power Plant. With the Mewtwo project ruined, Giovanni declares, crossing his arms in a serious tone, "Well… now that the Mewtwo project is ruined and one of our birds is stolen. I think it's time we visit Prof. Oak to get Moltres back."
Giovanni could be seen as three monitors showed the Legendary Birds. One of the screens changed into static as Sabrina asked curiously, "Boss, are you positive that the brat sent the Flame Pokémon to him?"
Giovanni replied calmly, leaning his chair, answering Sabrina's question, "No. But then again, with him assuming his PC is safe with Oak, we can just go in and take it back. And if not, kidnapping Pallet Town citizens is a necessary task, as they have the innate empathy for the feelings of Pokémon. With that, we'll draw out Mew as Pallet Town will get polluted soon enough."
Sabrina nodded from her screen as it flickered out. Giovanni, sitting in the former chairman's room of Silph Co., waited patiently for his trusted Admins to complete his objectives…

[Kanto Region, Meanwhile, Route 6 – South Entrance]
Outside Saffron City, Green pleads with one of the guards to be let into the city, but is refused at all four entrances. Later, Blue experiences the same problem, deciding to circumvent the issue as he said, frustrated, "I can't believe this! Four roads go into Saffron City, and I can't get through any of them. This city is my last chance, so…"
*Pop*
Blue smirked as he brought out his fully evolved Charizard. Charizard is a draconic, bipedal Pokémon. It is primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail. It has a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head.
Two fangs are visible in its upper jaw when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the top of the third joint of each wing. A single wing finger is visible through the center of each wing membrane. Charizard's arms are short and skinny compared to its robust belly, and each limb has three white claws.
It has stocky legs with cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet. The tip of its long, tapering tail burns with a sizable flame, which can intensify to a blue flame if Charizard is irritated.
*Tmp*
Climbing aboard his Charizard back, he smirked as he said confidently, "Ha! It's taken a lot of training, but it was worth it! Chairzard… Fly!"
*Vaash*
*Hwoooo*
Blue by having his Charizard use Fly to lift him into the city from above. He snaps a photo of the city, noting out loud, "There doesn't seem to be anything going on in the city… huh?"
*Ffff*
*Fff*
Suddenly, he bumps into Green, who has taken to the sky as well by holding onto Jiggly as she floats. Green is wearing her modified Silph Scope, as she catches sight of Blue, asking for his name cutely, "Bing! Cute guy in sight! Hi there! What's your name?"
Blue ignores her and begins having Charizard descend in an annoyed tone, "Wh-what the – ?! I'll just pretend I didn't see that…"
*Hwar*
Blue began to descend as Green tried to warn him of his mistake quickly, "No! Don't! There's an invisible –"
*SCRRAPE*
*BZZT*
*BZZT*
Before Green's warning can reach him, he slams into a massive invisible wall surrounding the city, which is being produced by a Psychic Pokémon. Blue yells at Green in a frustrated tone, "Couldn't you have warned me a little earlier?!"
Green takes off her Silph Scope as she says calmly of the barrier surrounding the city, "This barrier… It's being produced by a Psychic Pokémon. But to surround the whole city with it, this must be one heck of a powerful Pokémon…"
Blue pauses, thinking for a moment on the strength of such a Pokémon, before he orders Charizard to attack the barrier, "Charizard! Flamethrower!"
*CHARRR*
But it had no effect. Green offers to team up with Blue as she said curiously, "Hey, you! I don't know why you want to get into Saffron City… but how about teaming up with me?"
But he turns and leaves, instead going to seek advice from Professor Oak, as he thought, 'I bet grandpa knows something about this…'

[Kanto Region, Meanwhile, Sea Route 21]
Meanwhile, on Route 21, Red has almost reached Pallet Town on Gyara's back, eager to give Professor Oak a visit as he said out loud, "I just need to cross this sea to get to Pallet Town… first stop, Professor Oak's place!"
*Swooosh*
From high above the Sea Route of 21 Azure, riding his Dragonair using Fly with Pikachu perched over his shoulder and Eevee on his head. Gazing at the distance, he smirked as he said calmly, "The final battle is almost among us. Everyone, be prepared, and Eevee, be prepared for our match against Sabrina with your Umbreon form."
Eevee barked happily, agreeing, "Eevow!"
Smiling, Azure knew what would happen next as he prepared himself. He knew what the next climax would be…

[Kanto Region, Later, Pallet Town]
Walking through the small town, Red is struck by how quiet everything seems as he comments, "Where is everybody? And at noon…? Weird?"
Reaching Professor Oak's Laboratory, he rings the doorbell. Azure followed from above, stealthily eyeing the situation.
*Ding*
*Dong*
With no one answering, Red slowly opened the door himself after receiving no response. As he said out loud, "The Prof's gone too…?"
But that was when he noticed Professor Oak standing near the back of the lab. Red is happy to finally see a familiar face, having become put off by the strange silence as he said happily, "Prof! Awright! I was starting to get creeped out by how quiet this place is! Anyway, the Pokedex is coming along great! The only problem is, I can't get into Saffron City… so what should I…"
A smile on his face, he tells him that work on the Pokédex has been going great, but he's been having trouble entering Saffron City. As he begins to ask for advice, Professor Oak suddenly turns around and strikes towards Red, who is barely able to get out of the way.
*WAK*
Shocked, Red can dodge another attack and quickly sends out Saur to bind him with his vines, but he's able to effortlessly rip away the vines and strikes Saur with a Psybeam. Red himself is then struck by another Psychic attack, as he said, startled, "Pr-Professor… that's not really you, is it?!"
Leaving him to conclude that whatever is pretending to be Professor Oak must be a Pokémon Red commanded, "Show yourself! Ivysaur – Leech Seed!"
*Pop*
*Jabb*
Commanding out a Leech Seed, he tries sucking out the Pokémon's energy, which quickly reveals itself to be a Kadabra. Suddenly, a voice speaks to Red in an arrogant tone, "Haha! How do you like Kadabra's Hypnosis Power, hmm… it works just as well on humans as it does on Pokémon."
Suddenly, Sabrina appears in her Team Rocket outfit, calling him a nuisance as she said calmly, looking above, "You've been quite the nuisance for some time now. Consider this a courtesy call. If you want to save Professor Oak and the citizens of Pallet Town… come to Saffron City."
Red was stunned as his eyes narrowed, demanding, "You mean you… You've…"
*BWETCH*
Red was forced down by Sabrina's Psychic powers to the ground. But in that moment, a Shadow Ball was shot directly at her.
Sabrina had her Kadabra into action, commanded, "Light Screen."
*Shinng*
*BOOOM*
Managing to get up, Red turned to see Azure step inside, causing Sabrina's eyes to narrow, seeing the other nuisance as she said in an annoyed tone, "And we have the other pest just perfect. Thanks to you, I got a scolding from the boss."
Azure calmly enters inside with Eevee on his head, growling at Sabrina and Pikachu, eyes narrowed at the ready. Azure adjusted his cap as he said calmly, "Really? Then I should thank you for the Moltres on a silver platter for me to snatch and grab."
Sabrina's eyes narrowed dangerously at his claims as she said coldly, looking down on him with an arrogant expression, "If you want my badge and save the citizens of Pallet Town, Azure Sky, then come to Saffron City Silph Co. I'll be sure to greet you with open arms."
*Hyuuuu*
Red manages to get himself together as Sabrina bids them farewell and teleports away. The two were left alone in the lab to wonder over the events that had just taken place, as Red was wondering who she was and why she wanted him to visit Saffron City.
Azure simply remained calm, sighing out loud, rubbing his head in an annoyed tone, "Sigh… good grief. This is gonna be a big pain to deal with."
*Hwooo*
That was when Blue suddenly arrived on his Charizard, not surprised that something appeared to have gone wrong, as he said calmly, "I had a bad premonition… and sure enough…"
But Red chimed in a worried tone, trying to explain to Blue with a concerned voice, "S-Something terrible has happened to Pallet Town!"
Blue was not surprised to bring a photo up close for them to see as he explained in a calm tone, "I bet… take a look at this photo. It's an aerial photo of Saffron City."
Blue shows the photo he took earlier to Azure and Red. The photo shows half a dozen members of Team Rocket present in the city. Red wonders what they must be doing there in a confused tone, "W-What's Team Rocket doing there…?!"
Blue tells him about his fruitless attempts to enter past the barrier, concluding that Team Rocket must be using it as their headquarters, explaining to them, "The entire city is surrounded by a barrier, we can't even get in there from above – from the air! Team Rocket must be using it for their own headquarters…"
Azure finally spoke, looking nervous as he said calmly with his arms crossed across his chest, "So they told us to go to Saffro City because…"
Blue finished his words as he said calmly, his expression turning serious, "That's right. The final battle between our two forces is about to begin!"
