Chapter 18 - Chapter 18The Fairy Coordinates

After completing the soul-splitting process, the three bodies—his original body, the possessed slave jinn, and the large white-winged khodam—opened their eyes simultaneously.

The sight was extraordinary. Rai could now see from three different perspectives at once, using six eyes and controlling six hands. He began reading three books simultaneously.

At first, it was overwhelming. His brain felt like it was being pulled in all directions. But over time, by maintaining a steady rhythm and focus, both his body and mind gradually adapted.

Reading three things at once wasn't just about multitasking. It also trained his control over multiple bodies—a critical skill for high-level shamans. Rai realized that if he mastered this early on, his future would become much brighter.

In the world of shamans, long-range combat was common. Most shamans relied on their khodams to fight, while their main bodies hid or escaped. It might seem cowardly, but the reality was clear: if the main body died, everything ended.

That's why many shamans developed techniques for hiding, escaping, and protecting their original body. These techniques were often kept secret. If others knew them, enemies could find ways to bypass them and kill the shaman.

Since Rai was still a student, those techniques were not yet available to him. Most senior shamans kept such knowledge to themselves. In the future, Rai would likely have to invent his own survival techniques.

With triple reading speed, Rai discovered many interesting female jinns. Because his khodam had wings, he was naturally drawn to winged jinns as well.

Some that caught his attention:

Vampire Jinn – They could manipulate blood and possessed great power. Some could even turn other jinn into blood slaves through biting. However, blood slaves lacked consciousness and were treated as mere mutated jinns.

Succubus – Powerful in mental and seduction-based combat, especially effective against men. Dangerous, yet fascinating to study further.

Female Hawk Jinn – Elegant winged jinn with hawk-like wings. Reminded him of Keil's khodam. Rai thought they looked really cool and might be a solid option.

Tiny Fairy Jinn – Small enough to fit in a hand, yet capable of powerful healing. Some could even manipulate plants. Despite their size, they shouldn't be underestimated.

However, after reading so much, Rai felt mentally drained. His brain was exhausted.

"Maybe I should ask Master Rosso for advice," Rai muttered. "He'll know the best option for my second slave jinn."

Rai closed his books and returned them to the shelf. Then, he took a deep breath and retracted his consciousness from his khodam and slave jinn, merging them all back into his original body.

Today was exhausting… but incredibly valuable.

Rai approached Master Rosso, who was seated at his desk, busy writing on an old piece of parchment.

"Hello, Master. What are you working on?" she asked with a sweet smile.

Master Rosso glanced at his beautiful student and smiled. He suspected she was here to ask for another favor, but deep down, he was pleased she had started to become more comfortable with him.

"Are you here to ask something? If it's about the artificial khodam you requested yesterday, the earliest it'll be ready is in a week," he said, stroking his long white beard.

"Not that," Rai replied, taking a seat near him. "I wanted to ask about certain types of spirits—like vampires, succubi, eagle women, or maybe tiny fairies. Which one do you think would suit me best right now?"

Rosso raised an eyebrow and thought for a moment.

"In my opinion… the tiny fairy would be the best match for you. Your current abilities already include offense, defense, and even the power to command a small army. A fairy spirit would complement that well with its healing abilities. As for succubi, they are powerful and specialize in mental attacks, but they're incredibly difficult to tame—especially at your level. Vampires and eagle women are rare; finding them would be a real challenge."

Rai nodded slowly. "I had a feeling the fairy would be the right choice too."

Seeing her determination, Rosso stood and walked to the corner of the room. He retrieved a rolled-up map and a small glowing crystal.

"I'll teach you how to open a portal to the spirit realm. But be warned—this is not a journey to take lightly."

Rai stood, watching closely as her teacher explained.

"First, you'll need to focus and use your khodam to stabilize the energy. I'll guide you this time, but eventually, you'll need to manage it on your own."

Rosso placed the crystal in the center of a magic circle etched into the floor.

"Have your khodam attune to the resonance between this world and the spirit realm. Focus your intention on this coordinate—" he pointed to a spot on the ancient map. "This is where the fairy spirits tend to gather, near Mist Lake in the Northern Forest, especially when the crescent moon appears."

Rai closed her eyes and connected with her khodam, feeling the energy flow through the circle. A soft blue light began to envelop the room.

"Now… say the incantation," Rosso whispered.

Rai followed his instructions, and in an instant, the light swirled into a vortex. A round portal opened before them, revealing a lush forest bathed in a faint green glow.

"If your khodam can approach without threatening them, the fairies might respond. But remember—do not force anything. Use your heart, not your power."

Rai nodded, turning her eyes to her khodam—a radiant, winged being that resembled an angel. Though it stood apart from her, it held no will of its own. It was a vessel, created from her energy, and moved by her soul.

"You'll enter in my place," she said quietly. "But it's still me who will see and act through you."

The khodam's wings spread wide as the portal shimmered. Then, under Rai's control, it stepped forward and passed through the gateway into the spirit realm—her mind and senses fully linked, guiding every motion.

Rai remained behind, her physical body still and focused, as her spirit ventured forth in the form of her khodam, ready to seek out the fairies deep within the hidden world beyond.
