"So you lived together in the wild for three years?" Emma asks Ororo.
"Yes. It was amazing, I learned so much." Ororo says.
The two have spent roughly an hour imprisoned together and have gotten to know one another. Ororo told Emma about her time meeting T'Challa and their time together, which fascinated Emma as she hadn't known much else except her school and a bit of Massachusetts. Ororo had told Emma how she wanted to walk through the streets of Cairo when she saw Emma run out of the hotel and decided to follow her. That's also how she arrived at the place when the young men saw her, and if Emma hadn't been threatened with a gun, she surely would have beaten the young men.
"And your parents allowed that?"
"I don't have parents. They died when I was 6 years old, here in Cairo, which is also what I wanted to have a look at when I saw you run by, by chance. But I think this was the better outcome, don't you think?" Ororo laughs.
She wasn't scared in the slightest because she knew that it had been about 10 minutes since she told the boss of this criminal group to send word to T'Challa about 'paying' for her release. And 10 minutes was more than enough time for him to-
*Bang Boom Pfft*
Sounds of fighting and several gunshots are heard from outside. Ororo and Emma go silent as they hear shouting and screaming. Something is happening outside, and only Ororo has an idea of what that could be. She had a talk with T'Challa about the notion of killing. She was a pure soul with a heart of gold, but T'Challa was a King and, as such, with the knowledge he possessed, couldn't allow certain people to go free. Death was a weapon he was more than willing to use to make sure she and those he cared about were safe. That's also what T'Challa means in Old Wakandan: 'He who put the knife where it belonged'
"What's happening?" Emma asks nervously.
"That's their payment they asked for," Ororo says, looking at the door.
The sounds go on for a while and then finally stop. Some muffled sounds are heard, and then the door to their room finally opens. The two young women are both happy to see who it is. Ororo smiles, seeing T'Challa looking rather displeased, as she knows she should have at least called him before just running off after Emma. He trusts her skills, but if she doesn't use her powers, she is still only a skilled 16-year-old fighter, but 16 nonetheless, and he won't ever stop worrying about her. Emma was in awe at seeing T'Challa walk into the room. Something in the way he walked or moved in general seemed... regal or impressive. She was fascinated and couldn't take her eyes off him.
T'Challa makes his way to their cage and uses a piece of metal he found to smash open the lock and finally free them. He has to keep his powers secret, like Ororo did, otherwise he could have ripped open the door with his bare hands. Ororo immediately falls around his neck and is picked up by him, giving him kisses on his cheek as she does so, hoping to forgive her for her carelessness. She knows he can't ever truly be angry with her, but just wants to speed up the forgiving process.
"N'cos", Ororo whispers, which means thank you in Wakandan.
"Any time, love," he answers.
"May I introduce you to Emma Frost. I was trying to save her unsuccessfully when I just walked off, hehehe." Ororo says and introduces Emma.
"It is good to meet you, Emma. As luck would have it, I was just in a meeting with your brother, Christian, when news reached us of your abduction. I apologise for taking this long." T'Challa says.
"N-no... thank you. Thank you so much." Emma says and breaks down once more. T'Challa's presence finally calms her down.
"Come. Let's get you to your family."
"Where are they?" Ororo asks in Wakandan as they walk out of the building. None of the men who captured them are seen, so Ororo wonders what he did to them.
"I cleaned up before coming in."
"I thought we talked-"
"Anyone touching my loved ones dies. I told you that before we consummated our relationship. Nothing will change that. Whoever harms my family mustn't wonder if he gets to feel 100% of my hate." T'Challa says.
T'Challa accompanied the two to the nearest street, where he had parked his car and had both of them enter in the back. He sat in the front to give them time to talk with one another. He knew about the story of Emma Frost and her siblings and the abuse they had to go through because of their father. T'Challa knew that he was self-absorbed and primarily cared about his interests and those of his closest family and the nation of Wakanda. But seeing the young Emma Frost here, he couldn't turn a blind eye and would take care of this, in the most effective way Winston Frost would understand.
.
"Emma!"
"Oh, dear."
As they arrived back at the hotel, Emma was greeted by her mother and brother, Christian. Their father only looked at T'Challa, whom he knew as Carl Lucas. Emma's two sisters, Adrienne and Cordelia, didn't approach her and only waited for her to come to them. They waited next to their father. T'Challa and Ororo observed the moment in thought, and after a moment, they looked at each other. An entire conversation took place in the span of a few seconds, after which Ororo nods and walks towards Emma. T'Challa also walks forward.
"It's good to have you back, dear. I didn't know that you had gone missing until Christian told me. Oh, my poor child, are you all right?" Hazel Frost asked her daughter and passively touched her shoulder.
"Are you alright, Em? When the letter arrived for Mr. Lucas, I almost had a heart attack. I'm so sorry, Em, I really am."
Emma simply nods in her brother's arms. The meeting was as frosty as their names implied, with the exception of Christian; none of the Frosts showed any real emotions. Winston approaches his daughter and starts shouting.
"Damn you, Emma Frost! Not only did you shame our family name by running away like a pathetic child, but you also managed to get lost and add insult to injury by being captured and used as a hostage! You're a disgrace!" Winston shouts and raises his hand to slap his daughter, but before his hand reaches Emma, a powerful hand grabs his arm and stops it in place.
"Enough of this," T'Challa says.
"Who do you think you are, you little shit?! What I do with my family is-"
"Silence! Not another word from you." T'Challa raises his voice.
Everyone stops and turns towards them. Ororo also looks at the scene in surprise. Never in the time she had known him had he raised his voice, and to see him now, she knows that he's very angry.
"If you touch her one more time, I will make it public that you would rather save your money and forget that she existed than pay. Your business partners will leave you, and I will take up where you left off, slowly turning your empire into a pathetic waste that once was something impressive."
T'Challa lowers his voice again, so that only Winston can hear him.
"And after that, I will come to your house and carve out your heart, forcing you to eat it later."
It isn't like T'Challa to talk like that; he most likely wouldn't touch Winston. But he does use it to put true fear into the man, and it works. Winston nods his head after a second.
"Now, I believe it is time for us to talk about business. That's what you wanted after all, is it not?" T'Challa says and lets go of his arm.
Winston winces in pain after he sees the handprint on his arm, where T'Challa held him. He nods his head, thinking that some good might come out of this day, yet. So the two leave, together with Christian, walking into a business room, where they start the long talk about their respective businesses and the future 'partnership' between their respective firms.
All the women are left confused and stunned at what just happened. Ororo grabs Emma's hand and pulls her away from her family.
"Come, Emma. There's a pool I want to try out. Let's see what we can discover in this large hotel." Ororo says, pulling Emma along with her, leaving her family standing there.
"It seems that Emma has found a friend. How nice." Hazel says.
"Hmm, I find this to be very suspicious. Mr. Lucas has some secrets, let me tell you. Did you see how he didn't even look in my direction? Definitely homosexual or another dirty secret. I'll try to find out and then tell Daddy. He can't be taken advantage of." Adrienne says and walks away.
"Whatever," Cordelia says and pops a chewing gum.
.
"NO!" Winston says, hearing what T'Challa just told him.
"No?"
"NO! NEVER! Do you hear me?! Never!" Winston says, standing up and shouting again.
"I am amazed at your skill at raising your blood pressure and voice. You might appear intimidating to little girls and children, but I find it most bothersome. So if you again should have the urge to shout, then do it in another direction, your spit is not something I desire on my person." T'Challa says calmly and threatens him with pain once more.
"I-if I may be so bold, Mr. Lucas. This is truly impossible for us to agree on. If we sign this paper, you will basically own 43% of Frost International and have more say in the daily dealings than even my father." Christian says.
"You're correct," T'Challa says.
"So you agree?! Do you think we're delusional?! Do you think you get to make demands like those because you saved an unimportant part of my family that I could have lived without?" Winston asks.
"I find it amusing that you think you have a choice," T'Challa says.
"What are you talking about?" Winston asks.
"Panther Enterprises has long entered the transportation business. We are in the process of creating better ships and planes, which are not only much safer and faster, but also better for the environment. If we launch those, you will lose your spot as a leading firm in the transportation area anyway." T'Challa reveals.
What he is saying is not entirely true, but it would take him a few hours to design such a thing, as Wakanda had technology centuries ahead of it, and he himself had worked on getting to know Vibranium, truly getting ready to create more advanced uses for it. So creating simple planes and ships was far too easy for him, and even Shuri could do that when she was still a child.
Winston looks at T'Challa with anger in his eyes. He can't get a read on him and feels inadequate when T'Challa looks at him. He knows arrogance when he sees it, but he doesn't see any in the young man in front of him, simply immense pride and confidence in his capabilities. He knows that Panther Enterprises has risen from nothing in a matter of a few years, which is already unbelievable, but if what T'Challa says is true, then Panther Enterprises is only holding back their efforts of pushing them away and this deal T'Challa offered Frost International, would help them and give them some safety.
After thinking about it for a long time, Winston signs it angrily and throws the pen on the table.
"There! But I tell you, should you try to take advantage of me or my firm, then I will use all of my money to destroy you in any way possible, no matter whether it's legal, do you understand?"
"Not only do I find you pathetic, Mr. Frost. But you will do whatever I say from now on, if you want to remain CEO of Frost International. Otherwise, I will convince your shareholders that you are incapable of leading your firm and that your son, Christian, is more suited for the job." T'Challa says and stands up, taking the contract with him.
"You wouldn't dare."
"I would. You will start to treat your family with respect and love from now on. The abuse will stop immediately. This leads us to the final topic of our talk."
"What could you greedy prick possibly want now?" Winston asks.
"You will ask the Snow Valley School for Girls Principal in Snow Valley, Massachusetts, and have her enrol Ororo in the same year as your daughter Emma. As for the necessary material, I'm sure you can ask her to look past that and have her do the necessary tests to get her enrolled in that year. I can assure you, she is more than ready for that level." T'Challa says, revealing the final parts of his plans.
"WHAT?! Are you fucking-"
"Now, now, Mr. Frost. I'm sure you know by now that talking won't get you anywhere." T'Challa says, having had enough of the man's attitude forever.
"How would that be possible? If she doesn't even have-"
"That's why I am asking you to deal with that. The amount of money they get from you will make her agree to the request, and if she can do the tests to ensure Ororo is truly at that level, then it will work out. Money rules the world after all, doesn't it? Now, if you would excuse me, I have had enough of you for a very long time." T'Challa says and leaves the room.
