"Why the F**k Did You Kiss Him?!"
Chapter Two
Bai Jinli came to the capital for one reason.
Revenge.
Her father had been ruined, her mother driven insane and drowned herself in a well. She alone survived, taken in by an opera troupe, trained from childhood in every seductive art known to man. She waited. Grew. Until one day she could return, more beautiful than anyone in the empire, her heels clicking across the bones of her enemies.
Target Number One on her revenge list?
Ye. Wu. Hen.
She would never forget the day he rode into her house, sword dripping with her father's blood, eyes colder than winter, expression bored as he destroyed her entire life.
She vowed he would pay.
What she didn't expect…
Was for the bastard to take one look at her and scream, "You're too f**king pretty to still be alive!"
She definitely didn't expect him to kneel to her five minutes later and propose like a lunatic in heat.
But today officially broke her.
She was walking down the street, minding her own business, when she leaned down and teasingly lifted the chin of a handsome little lipstick seller. Just a harmless flirt.
Then—
Cold steel kissed her throat.
Ye Wuhen appeared like a phantom. No sound, no warning. His blade pressed to her skin. His voice was low, rough, terrifying.
"Why the fk did you kiss him?"**
Bai Jinli raised an eyebrow. Calm as ever.
"I kissed a man. So what? You gonna cry?"
"You're mine."
His voice was shaking now. "From the moment I saw you, you were f**king mine."
She laughed. "You need professional help."
His eyes blazed. "Yeah. I need help. You're the medicine. The disease. The cure."
Then he grabbed her. And kissed her.
Not a soft kiss. A violent, desperate, hungry one—like he was trying to eat her alive, like kissing her was the only thing keeping him from dying.
Bai Jinli froze. Then slapped him so hard birds took flight.
"Why the fk did you kiss me?!"**
Ye Wuhen didn't even flinch. He just smiled, mad as ever, the kind of smile you see right before someone burns your house down for love.
"Because I love you, Bai Jinli. I love you so much, I want to fking kill you."**
Bai Jinli's heart skipped.
She knew better than to fall for a lunatic.
But this lunatic… was the one she'd sworn to destroy.
Now he was offering her obsession, destruction, worship—and a love so twisted it bled from the edges.
So now she had a problem.
Does she kill him?
Or let him keep loving her until one of them dies?
A street urchin watching from the alley whispered, clutching his tiny chest like he'd just seen God and Satan make out:
"What the hell did I just witness?! They're all crazy. CRAZY. EVERYONE'S LOST IT."
