The second game was about to begin, and everyone wonders if it will be like the first game or...even worse.
But, there was still one more problem.
"Before the game starts, players should form groups of no more than ten players."
"Remember, there is strength in numbers"
They had to form groups however, that was not really the problem; how were they to group up with people that had killed other people in cold blood.
You can't trust murderers, can you?
But weren't most of them also murderers?
"Kai?" Noel looked at his companion,
His blond friend looked petrified, it was really concerning.
"Are you okay?" He grabbed Kai's wrist while staring into his eyes.
Kai gave a stiff nod in response.
"We should probably form a group" Kai spoke out, his eyes scanning the frazzled crowd;
"I... don't want to group with anyone though" He continued; Noel released his hold on Kai's wrist after realizing his friend seemed to have calmed down.
"We don't have too" Noel responded while also taking in the actions of the people in the room.
"But...that robot said we have to form a group of ten players" Kai displayed a confused expression.
"It said groups of no more than ten players"
"Meaning, we can also have a group of just two people" Noel explained.
"Really?"
"Mm..."
In the surrounding distance, the other players seem to have already formed and joined groups based on how clusters of people seemed to distance themselves from each other.
"The second game will now commence"
Everyone braced themselves for any upcoming surprises,
The wooden doors automatically causing quite a few players to jump back on fear, thinking something would suddenly enter the room.
"Please proceed to the next room"
Nobody was willing to find out what would happen if they decided to stay.
Walking into another room, after a couple of turns of the hallway, the total of 50 was shocked to see the room.
The room was oddly plain and empty except for the five wooden doors at the end of the room, there wasn't really anything particularly wrong with the room, it just gave off an unsettling vibe. It could possibly be simply the fear of the unknown.
Shaking of the fear off, the players entered the room; those at the back who unfortunately didn't see the room at first were now able to feel the uncomfortable air in the room.
Now inside the not so big room, the players can clearly see that the doors at the end were numbered, from the left, one to five
"There are a total of ten groups"
"Each group should pick any door of their choice"
Whispers slowly started to fill up the room as groups contemplate which door to pick.
"Which door should we pick. This could be a trapped though" Kai whispered despite sticking extremely close to Noel's side.
"It's not like we actually have a choice. This could all just be based on dumb luck" Noel responded, consciously leaning towards Kai, avoiding anybody's touch.
"How 'bout you just pick the first number that comes to head." Kai suggested giving a quick glance to the rest of the players, who seemed to also be also having mixed feelings about this whole situation.
"Why me? Why not you?" Noel asked taking his eyes of Kai to stare at the doors, a few groups already stood in front of the door of their choice while the other groups remained indecisive.
"Warning players; two minutes remain to choose"
A handful of players unintentionally flinched at the feminine robotic voice; it was really a subconscious reaction, no reason in particular.
Groups made haste and quickly picked a door that appealed to them.
"So? Which door?" Kai peeked at Noel with brown eyes. Noel answered the question with a confused expression.
"Why are you asking me to choose, why can't you do it"
"No, you choose" Kai retorted, the thought of deciding for both was already taxing.
"Kai just pick a damn door" Noel argued back "look some of the other groups have already picked a door"
Kai glanced around noting that a couple of groups were standing in front of the door of their choice, so doors like door 1 had two groups in front of it.
Kai was slightly flustered with the task and the thought of being the only ones yet to choose a door and chose the first door to cross his eyes
Door 5
"That one, door five" Kai grabbed Noel's hand to drag him all the way to door five.
"Congratulations players on choosing a door, now proceed to the next game"
Following the instructions of the mechanic voice, all five doors opened with an inward movement.
The players cautiously walk into the door of their choice.
Noel and Kai entered door 5 along with another group. The group seemed oddly to only consist of muscular men, there was only one woman. Neo wondered how she didn't seem scared being the only female with such men.
DOOR 5
The moment Noel and Kai stepped into door 5, they found themselves in the center of a small town; there were about more than a dozen big buildings on both sides, the shops looked like they came straight out of an old British movie, Kai was somehow waiting to see a stuck-up nobleman riding a fancy horse driven carriage That would have been quite an amusing sight.
Despite not seeing any stuck-up noblemen, they were privileged to see a lot of the townspeople dressed in the common 1900 English attire. People gave the duo weird looks mostly for their clothing, but Noel and Kai didn't know that; they were too focused on the sudden change in environment.
"Welcome to the second game; murder mystery. The death of Agatha Price" The same robot voiced out, it seemed to have come from the sky, but the townsfolks seemed to not have heard it.
"The death of Agatha Price" Kai said in a not so quiet voice, a few people seemed to give the duo weird glances especially after Kai's statement; again, the duo remained oblivious to the stares.
"If this is a murder mystery are supposed to solve her death?" Noel asked his best friend. He gave a quick look around, finally giving his surroundings a bit of attention.
"First we may need to find out who Agatha is" Kai answered. More stares were directed towards them
"Gooday fine gentlemen" A well-dressed middle-aged man greeted them; his top hat in his left hand while he bowed slightly.
"I seemed to have overheard you talking about Agatha" he said, returning to a straight standing stance. The man had his auburn brown hair slicked back and his cornflower eyes seemed a little bit dim.
"Ah! Yes, did you know her?" Kai asked the man excitedly; maybe too excitedly cause the man backed up a little.
"A…yes, my name's James Price; Agatha was the daughter of my eldest brother" James introduced, "Pardon but, may we go somewhere more private?" He continued after all it's not illegal for others to walk around the streets of London.
Kai and Noel gave a curt nod in response, though it may not be wise to blindly follow a stranger but what other choice do they have now? They can only follow any small lead they have.
The three men walked a certain distance before James led them into what seemed to be a pub, he took them up a flight of stairs which brought them to a hallway with a couple of doors attached to the wall. James opened the one door at the end of the passageway, Noel and Kai were presented a normal sized room with two blue velvet sofa and a shiny round coffee table, a door was fixed on both left and right side of the room.
"Please come in" James gestured with his hands to emphasize his statement. Noel and his friend did as in instructed, Noel sat on the sofa on the left while Kai sat on the armrest of said sofa. James sat comfortably on the sofa on the right.
"How do you guys know Agatha?" James started the conversation with a question,
"Um..." Noel was at lost for words, how was he to explain that a robotic voice from the sky told them, sort of.
"Um…well…you see…" Kai also didn't know what to say in this case.
"Is it from all the rumors?" James guessed, to him it seemed like the only plausible answer unless they knew Agatha personally.
"Um…yes" Kai immediately agreed with it. A free excuse for them.
"Just so we're on the same page, what rumors to be exact?" Noel asked.
looked at them like they were aliens, what other rumors were there?
"The rumor that Agatha committed suicide" Regardless James gave them an answered. The shocked expression on both their faces did not help clear James's suspicion of them being aliens. Why would they be shocked if they already knew of the rumors?
"…Did she?" Kai asked cautiously trying to avoid any form of discomfort.
"Of course not!" the volume of James's voice increased at that response; the question itself seemed to be very irritating to the man.
Kai tried very hard to ignore the side-eye Noel was currently giving him; In his defense, he didn't mean to imply anything rude.
"So, what happened to her?" Noel asked this time not trusting Kai's mouth to produce anything sensible.
"Well, I believe she was killed" James stated in a convinced tone, even his expression showed how much he believed in his conclusion.
"Mm, so when exactly did she die?" Much to Noel disappointment, Kai managed to ask a question although this time it seemed more sensible
"Just last week" James answered, again he was confused; if they had heard the rumors why don't know when Agatha died.
"I'm sorry for your loss" Kai paid his condolences, a rather late and uncalled condolence. Noel now looked like he was ready to bury Kai; dead or alive meanwhile James didn't even know what expression to put on, why would a normal person say their condolences at him like this; after they've already established that Agatha is dead.
James let at a forced cough to break the very uncomfortable atmosphere, "I don't think I got you young lads names" A change of subject was just what they needed
"I'm Noel and this is my friend Kai" Noel introduced both him and his companion; couldn't trust Kai to say anything reasonable again.
"James, we would like to help solve the murder of Agatha with you" They obviously forget their purpose here, they had a game to complete, and they had no desire to find out the penalty for not completing this game.
"Really! Thank you so much" James said in a joyous tone, the sheer excitement was displayed clearly on his face and body movement.
"No problems. So could you give us any sort of clue, was there anything abnormal when Agatha died?" Noel asked, Kai was indirectly silenced after receiving a threating glare from Noel (although he didn't know what he did wrong).
'Ah, yes, when we discovered Agatha's body, there was something written on the wall" James responded after taking a few seconds to think.
"What did it say?" Kai being Kai decided to ignore Noel warning glare and follow his curiosity which led him to ask such question.
"'All deserves to die' that's what it said"
