Severin spent the rest of the day strategising in his mind while he went about the rest of his class in automatic mode. His main focus was on his Talent Ability. When it is looked at broadly, then it is a weak thing with no real strength.
Severin could not conjure wind or water with it. He could not call down lightning or call a storm. If a fight broke down between him and the next weakest person, then he would likely be beaten shitless.
His power, Command, only works for other people.
And in the midst where everyone is trying to tear the other down, who will let a weakling like Severin lord over them?
"This is the real issue that I must solve. To gain my own power, then I must use others to serve my own cause, literally."
Severin began to think about how he could do that. The main problem, that no one would want to serve him, was the major roadblock that he found in his plan. In short, all his plans revolve around that problem.
"No wonder this character is an extra true and true."
The rest of the day passed in an uneventful manner. Severin was ignored throughout, except for Derrick, who would shoot him looks now and then. Looks that promised violence.
And he did carry out some violence because during combat class, the person Derrick was paired with was beaten so much that she had to be carried away on a stretcher, even though the class was only teaching them footwork techniques.
The instructor only waved his finger at Derrick in warning.
But the signs from Derrick were clear. He was ready to carry out his act of anger on Class Five.
By this time, Severin had completely accepted his fate and was only looking forward to his survival. It was one of the reasons that he did not go to the dorm kitchen to eat when evening came around.
He knew that Derrick would be waiting for him.
Instead, he climbed to the roof of an abandoned hostel in the Class Five compound and gazed at the stars. "Meeting Derrick right there isn't part of my plan. Everything must go out according to my will, or else it will all collapse."
It was the first of his plans that he wanted to carry out.
He waited and looked at the clear night. The stars were so clear and bright compared to the Earth he came from. He saw different forms flying in the sky, and he sighed again at it all.
Although he had accepted it, he could not help but reflect on the fact that he had been brutally ripped away from his comfortable life. "Maybe I will find out why one day."
Suddenly, he saw different forms moving to the dorms.
"The students are back from eating?"
The students of Class Five quickly and quietly walked to the dorms. They did not speak to each other. Instead, they all walked miserably back.
Severin watched. He counted the time until it was exactly thirty minutes after the last students entered, then he straightened. "Time to set my first plan into motion."
He climbed down from the roof and then went to the dorm, opened the creaking door to the room he shared with the others, and entered. He did not go straight to his own bed. Instead, he went and loomed above another person's bed.
The person was snoring softly, but as a Hero, they were training to be killers and protectors. Even a weak Etherion user is still an Etherion user.
Derrick felt the eyes on him, and he rolled away, his bulky body moving into a crouch, but he was sleeping on the lower bed and his head banged against the metal frame.
He cursed as he extended his fist in a punch and then cursed some more when he realised the supposed attacker was Severin. "You bastard! I have been looking for you everywhere. I thought you had gotten rid of yourself."
"I will crush more of your fingers for messing with my sleep." While speaking, he was already climbing out of bed.
Severin took quick steps back, his calm eyes never leaving Derrick as he retreated. He raised his finger to his lips. "You talk too much. You want to break my fingers? Why didn't you try to break that boy's fingers when you were beaten like a feral dog? I guess you're too weak for him to even give you a proper thrashing."
Derrick's anger, that had been simmering since he was smacked down by the boy, finally exploded. He roared and lurched forward, but Severin, who was saying those words, knew the effects that it would cause.
He had already manoeuvred himself to the door, and immediately after he finished speaking, he took off.
Derrick was so angry that he did not even wear his shirt. He only wore his trousers as he gave chase. But Severin was not at the door, or the hallway. He was at the very end of it, looking back at Derrick with calm eyes.
Then he turned, and he was gone.
Derrick roared and ran after him. He chased him out of the dormitory, and even when he saw him slip into an abandoned building, he gave chase without thinking.
Severin had locked the abandoned building from the back, but Derrick gave it a kick, and the rotting door jerked open, wrenched from its frame.
Derrick laughed. "I'm so glad you came here. I won't have to clean the blood. You have been keeping your head down, slowly crawling on the floor, so what changed today? Are you looking for someone to off you because you lack the courage to do it yourself?"
Inside the abandoned building was dark, but they were Etherion users, and they saw clearly. Severin was on the steps that led upstairs, and Derrick slowly approached him.
"I'm always so happy to see you because even if I'm on the ground with you litters, at least I'm not the lowest. You, on the other hand, are the lowest of the lowest."
Severin smiled. "You are right."
