After the orientation...
University of Sovaria, Class 19 Lecture hall.
My class then heads over to our lecture hall. A spacious hall with 40 seats with 4 rows, each row housing 4 tables that fit 5 students...
It has a medieval asthetic... as the University of Sovaria was first built right after the Kalos war. Where the second champion of Sovaria had funded its construction.
The University of Sovaria is the one and only trainer school. as Sovaria is still a Developing nation...
There's over 100,000 trainers in this region, with a population of 52 Million. There are over 50 classes of trainers every year in this University, so there's 2000 freshmen every year.
Though around 10% drop out in the middle of their 4 year stay...
I took a seat down at the front isle, so that i had a better view of the massive chalk board and hear the instructor better...
And I'll soon find out that it was a big mistake....
After awhile of waiting since we were early.... our Class Advisor Finally Arrived.
"Good Morning class..."
A very... young? man? girl?... he or she... looks ominously androgenous
the person had long silver white hair and was wearing a lab coat and he then tested the podium's speaker before speaking..
"Hello Class 19, I'm Raiya Izayoi and I'll be your Class Advisor for the next 4 years..."
Audible Gasps spread through the room.
And i was also flabergasted by the name... Raiya Izayoi..
"Oh yes that's right, I am that Raiya Izayoi... Yup."
The classroom went silent until one of my classmates, a girl. began to squeel at him.... her?
"Kyaaaa! Elite Raiya is our Class advisor! I think i spent all my lifes luck already!"
Raiya Izayoi... the androgenous top 1 in 4v4 doubles. Infamous for specializing in Snow tactics with his Alolan Ninetails.
And.. He's also my cousin. he used to life in our estate before graduating from the University of Sovaria. I kinda didn't recognize him because its been about 4 years since we last met, he even grew out his hair and his overall face changed quite a bit...
He's definitely what you call a one trick pony, not that it's bad or anything.... he uses snow extremely well and versitily, from offense, defence, and Unorthodox tactics...
one of my personal favorites was his Tera ice Kommo-o he used on his City Gym battle, I was a spectator and it was such a cool idea....
Since ice's weaknesses Included Rock, Steel, and Fighting types that had naturally better Physical moves, the defence boost, paired with his Ninetale's Aurora Veil and Iron defence for set-up, it made an unkillable wall on the Physical side, and its body press dealt immense damage back too.
He even stacked Grassy terrain from his Rillaboom and had Kommo-o hold a Grassy seed...

It wasn't a perfect strategy.... though it did inspire him to make the team that made him the 4v4 doubles Top 1. He just had a eurika moment and tried it... right now his current team is infamous...
"Anywho Introductions aside, since it's the first day how about we have a nice... Lecture!."
Aurgh.... i groaned in annoyance as i rolled my eyes. Raiya is always such a sadist.... a lecture on the first day? how cruel....
I sobbed inwardly as i already knew the topic.. though I decided to listen attentively out of respect..
"We'll be going to be reviewing Sovaria's Ladder system. Its complexities and how one progresses through it."
The professor stops momentarily as he wrote down the first trainer rank... and tapped the board with his chalk for emphasis and circled it and gave it a check.
"This. is the lowest title, a Junior Trainer.... Also known as."
He then points the chalk towards us and continues
"You kids, first you must graduate with the neccesary requirements to become..."
He writes another title just below the first...
"A Journeyman Trainer.., but professor what exactly are the graduation requirements.. i might hear one of you ask."
Professor Raiya then writes down 8 lines, and had levels right next to them. and directed all them into one single arrow that pointed to the Jouneyman Trainer title
"While in University you can earn badges from different cities, since it's international law... you can only battle the Capital City's Gym leader once you graduate. Though in other regions the required City Gym leader is based on your University's location."
"You can choose to graduate early if you earn the 8 badges before the end of your fourth year, though you can still stay for as long as your fourth year even if you already reached 8 badges. Though you can still earn badges long after you Graduate..."
"I, as a allumni from this institute had earned my 8 badges in my second year. and i decided to graduate at my third year.. as an example."
"And now, after graduation. Journeyman trainers now have the oppurtunity to challenge the City Gym, and after beating said Gym. You gain two things this time.."
He writes down two branches from the Journeyman Trainer Title
"First the title you gain, Upon beating the City Gym you are now a Senior Trainer... only about 2% of trainers have this title... so Sovaria only has 2000 Senior Trainers. This is one of the biggest cutting points that most simply cannot achieve due to a lack of resources, talent, or both..."
"But even as a Journeyman Trainer its already a good career..."
He then writes down the second thing you gain
"You gain excemption from the skill correspondence law.. this law was implemented because of incompetent trainers owning high talent Pokémon, it caused major problems internationally."
"As said trainers had Pokémon they couldn't control.... the Gap between a Journeyman Trainer and Senior Trainer is Immense.. So cutting off those without the neccesary skill from danagerous Pokémon is the law's reason for existing."
"We can now go to the Second Highest title..."
Professor Raiya then branches out from the Senior Trainer title and wrote down the next..
"The Elite Trainer... this is also my current rank actually... to get here... is extremely difficult"
Professor Raiya branches out the title to the side into 16 and putting every type on the each branch
"To earn the title of Elite. The requirement is to Earn all the badges from the 16 Regional Gym leaders... if there are a 100 City Gym leaders, then there are only 16 Regional Gym leaders.. all of them, the best of the best in their respective types."
"Becoming an Elite means mastery over typings. and that's why only 0.5%, or 500 trianers ever achieve this title..."
"Though of course there's still one title left..."
He then writes down the highest title a Trainer can achieve.
"The Master trainer.... this title, currently only 7 trainers in Sovania has this title, because the title is achieved through a Gauntlet..."
He then writes down the four formats, and the 4 who are the current top 1s of the formats..
6v6 singles: Remi Ivory
3v3 singles: Lyxe Ivory
6v6 doubles: Edel Garnichts
4v4 doubles: Raiya Izayoi
"To become a Master trainer... you must defeat these 4 with the same 6 Pokémon.. with no alterations to team sheets in between(might not sound so hard right now, but I'll eventually explain why it's going to be difficult)"
the bell rings right as Professor Raiya ends the lecture, I wait for my peers to first exit the lecture hall.
After everyone left i walked to the exit, but i was stopped by a hand to my right shoulder.. I looked behind me and see the Professor looking at me with a smile..
"Shoto.... i need you to come with me to the Vice-Headmaster's office right now..."
I paled at his request and stared right into him...
am i in trouble? the heck did i do?
