The school bell rang, waking me up.
"Hey, don't forget you've got..."
"... homework for tomorrow."
My classmates were laughing, talking about what they were going to do after classes. It was just a normal day.
I didn't have anything to do, and I was just tired so I tried to sleep again.
What was supposed to be sweet dreams became a living nightmare. Countless screams surrounded me.
"What's happening!?"
As I woke up I saw my classmates surrounded by a mesmerizing light. I tried blinking but it was of no use.
I looked down, only to see myself surrounded by that mysterious light.
Filled with fear I tried escaping that room but there was no way out, my classmates didn't do any better; the door and windows were crowded with people looking desperately for an exit.
"It's completely closed."
"The windows too."
"Let's calm down and look for a solution!"
The teacher was doing her best to control the situation but it was in vain, especially because, just in front of her, a classmate disapeared without a trace.
"Aaah!"
The teacher, screamed, tripped and fell but she wasn't the only one. The desperation and fear on our faces at the start couldn't be compared to the fear we were experiencing now.
Countless screams and cries filled that room.
"Please, let us live."
"I am so sorry."
It didn't matter how much we begged; our only fate was erasure from that room.
It wasn't much longer until that room was completely empty. It felt like I was the first one arriving for classes, but I wasn't.
I tried looking for an exit again: kicking the door, breaking the windows, but it was useless. No matter how much I tried I was trapped in that cursed room.
I knew it, I was the next, I didn't have much time until I disapeared too. There was just so much I wanted to do.
Nobody came to help either, it was like that room had been separated from the rest of the world.
With tears falling from my face, I closed my eyes, saying my last goodbyes to my family and everything I had known.
"I am sorry I can't do more for you."
I heard another voice, and when I opened my eyes, I found myself in a blank room.
After what had just happened, I couldn't be amazed so easily. So this was heaven I thought.
But it was empty; the voice I heard was nowhere to be found. And another strange feeling: I felt alive, really alive.
My tears had been wiped away and my body started shining again.
"Not again!"
I was lying on the ground, seeing the the same sky, surrounded by the same grass and feeling the same breeze as usual.
"Dylan is here!"
"Hey, are you okay?"
It was one of my classmates, he looked fine, he extended his hand to help me.
Thankfully, I smiled and took his hand.
When I stood up I noticed how wrong I was. this wasn't the usual breeze or the usual grass not even the same sky.
We were in a forest, but not a normal one. The trees were giant, filled with flowers and plants I had never seen.
But the most different thing was the sky. I don't know how I hadn't notice, but the sky was lit up by seven different stars.
"We were amazed at first too."
"We? Are the rest here too?"
"Yes, they aren't too far away. Lets go"
As I walked with my classmate I got more and more amazed by the beauty of this forest, filled with life, with so different and cute animals.
"We've arrived"
I saw my classmates waiting, I made a quick count and it seemed everyone was here.
The fear in their eyes had vanished just like me, it was true you could see some awareness, but in general everyone seemed fine.
"Check my skills and stats."
"I completely beat you now."
My classmates were showing each other a character menu, the kind you would see in any RPG or fantasy novel.
When I saw them I realized I knew how It worked, it was a strange feeling, like I was born with that knowledge.
I concentrated and the same menu appeared before my eyes. I made sure only I was able to see it, I didn't want anyone else to see it yet.

So that's what it means, I thought
An avalanche of information filled my brain, I knew what every word meant, not like I needed it though. And everything between [] could be expanded to give more information.
Let's check my stats then.

I wanted to believe it wasn't that bad, but I guess if my physical condition was bad before it would be bad now. At least I had a high luck number.
Now it was time for the thing I was more excited for, seeing what kind of skills I was given.

Skills

Wait what is this?
Why is it empty?
My excitement and anticipation dissapeared instantly.
Why I had no skills? I looked around to peek at my classmates skills.
They had passive skills like [Slash resistance], [Regeneration] or active skills like [Teleportation] or [Windslash].
Do I have to level up? How? Everyone seemed to have at least one skill so why I didn't?
My thoughts were bringing me nowhere, so I decided to hide the fact that I was skill-less. At least until I get my own skill.
Another thought come to my mind, aren't these skill names too normal?
In these kind of stories one expects the group that came from another world to have a set of skills that were against the logic of everything seen so far.
But it wasn't like that, besides [Teleportation] all the skills seemed normal. No secret skills or overpowered skills.
In the middle of my thoughts the class representative walked to the middle of the group and took control of the situation.
"Now that everyone is here I will make three teams to make us survive, as you might realize by now this is definetely a different world."
"We have a character menu, skills and stats. But no information about this world."
"For now, we must procure shelter, water and food. Let's do our best to go back home."
"Yes!" Everyone shouted.
Everyone accepted him as the leader, I trusted him too. I knew he would do a good job.
The class representate started checking some skills to make the teams.
Besides the fact that I had no skills there were two things worrying me.
I was sure, after hearing my classmates shouting.
We had accepted this reality too fast. It didn't make sense, 20 minutes ago we were crying and screaming but now we are making teams. It was strange how quickly we have adapted.
And that strange voice and white room.
But for now, I should do my best to help everyone too.
