The sun was high. Clear sky. Birds migrating to south as winters come up. I sat in the window side looking at very empire that I build from nothing but scratch.
Tak! Tak!
Some one knocked the door. I was sure it was none other than Justin because I heard his foot step coming this way. I smiled faintly hoping that the news that he brings is peaceful.
"Come in"
I said. Sighing over nothing. Right, nothing. Because there is nothing.
Justin came in, hands filled with no other but piles of paper. Justin greeted me saying
"Long live, Your majesty!"
He locked eyes with me and said
"That has appeared. Again"
I could feel the intensity he carried in his words. He doesn't want me to go. Again. I sighed. I knew that even if everything is alright in here but I won't go. Once again. There to see what I was like back then.
I knew that If He ever had chance, he wouldn't even give a shit and jump right into it. He would be mad if he ever did that. At least for me he would be mad man. Just as I was going to sink into another round of deep-thinking Justin in a low voice said
"Your Majesty, Duke William had an affair with Duchess Ruby and she got pregnant. Of course, Duchess William and Duke Ruby doesn't know about the affair. But"
he paused and added
"That child will be threat to your position."
I nearly laughed. An empire that I made will threat my position?? What a joke! This empire is my asset. The greatest investment in my life. And besides If I could make it, I could destroy it. Everyone knew about this fact. I looked at him with a sharp gaze.
"A child trying to threaten me. Let us see who wins."
Justin took a step back and said
"Of…of course…he…he can't compete you…Your Majesty."
He knowing that if he talked about work more his funeral will be held in next two days exited the room silently.
I looked back at the clear blue sky which is now turned into a mess. Black clouds appeared. The sun disappeared and…it seems to rain. Just like me.
I was still thinking when another person knocked the door. Is it Justin? Nah, he wouldn't dare to. Right now. Plus, I didn't hear footsteps. The curiosity got better of me and I said
"Come in."
The person that emerged behind the door was none other than
him.
The moment I locked eyes with him I could feel what he was holding back. Lust. The only thing that came to my mind.
"How did you come here?"
I asked colder than ice. He gave a rare smile. The kind of gentle smile that I believed that he would never have. And I knew that he will never have it until it changed. Now. He still smiling said
"Does it really matter?"
I sighed and said
"Fine, it doesn't matter."
I knew if he ever said this means he would never tell. I stud up and said
"You are not welcomed in here."
His smile vanished as he said
"Why?"
I simply smiled faintly and walked past him. Leaving him alone in my office.
The moment I came out each person who was in there became silent. I didn't say a word and walked past them. Like they never existed.
Justin also one of the people came tailing me behind. He glanced at my office. Confused as he followed me to my bedroom. When we were in my bedroom, he saw my dark expression asked
"Are you okay, your majesty??"
I shook my head and said
"No. just leave me alone"
He disappeared after that.
To be continued…
