A Visit to Gine's House and New Training Regimens
Point of View: Leekon
I'm currently at Gine's house, answering some questions and eating a meal she prepared. After I left the infirmary, she mentioned she'd brought me food but dropped it all when she saw me passed out on the ground.
'I'm actually talking to the hero's mom in this world, the main character's mom!' This is my first time ever chatting with someone who existed in the Dragon Ball series, to say the least. I'm super excited, and what I really want is to meet Bardock.
'That guy's a legend! His fight against Gas and his words gave me chills reading the manga, not to mention the movie where he becomes the first Super Saiyan.' Cutting off my thoughts, I hear:
"So, Leekon, you're telling me you challenged several Saibamen at the same time, and they had a power level very close to yours, yet you still won?" she asks, looking absolutely stunned.
I nod in confirmation while swallowing a massive piece of meat.
THUMP-THUMP!
I pat my chest twice, trying to get the food down better, then reply, "Yeah, it was definitely the most fun fight I've ever had in my life." 'Of all my lives,' I say with a slight smile as I recall the fight, feeling satisfied, fulfilled, but not from a full stomach, but from the battle itself. 'That was truly good… for now.'
"Ha-ha, you really are a little monster, kid," she says, smiling at me. I realize that this was by no means an insult; it was one of the biggest compliments for a Saiyan. "You have no idea how worried I was, though," she quickly adds, her expression turning serious.
That catches me by surprise and moves me a bit. 'Why would a stranger worry about me?'
"If you'd died, your mom would have killed me." She shivers slightly, apparently imagining that scenario.
"Ugh!" That hurt more than the Saibaman's claws. 'Bitch, give me back my feelings.'
"Uhm, I wanted to know how long I spent healing?" I wanted to know, as my classes with the ship engineer might be coming up soon.
"It was only two days. You recovered fast, especially with those injuries. I swore you'd be in there for at least four days, but look at you, in perfect condition." She says, looking me up and down while pointing at my body.
"Well, Ms. Gine, I'm heading out now. I need to continue my training."
"What? Not even one day of rest? You really are a monster. Well, dinner will be waiting for you here when you're done. Just don't overdo it and end up in the same state as before." She says, looking at me like I'm a weirdo, but still with a slight smile on her face.
I turn my back and leave with a smile on my face and my right hand raised in farewell, neither confirming nor denying if I'd take it easier on my training or not.
New Training Perspectives
Arriving at the mountain where I train, I see the Saibamen bodies and the destruction we caused in the area: some craters and spiderweb-like cracks on the rocks.
I pick up a dead Saibaman's foot and toss it into the air. While it's airborne, I fire an energy sphere that, upon impact, incinerates the body. Afterward, I do the same with the other bodies.
"What do I do now?"
'Seriously, I told her I was going to train, but I don't even know where to start,' I thought. 'Like, I could act like Vegeta and just keep training my body non-stop, which I'd probably do anyway, but I need something more to push me to the limit.'
I wanted to start trying to master the Great Ape transformation so that maybe in the future I could achieve the Ikari form.
But transforming in the middle of Planet Vegeta wouldn't be a good idea, especially with a power level that feels close to nine thousand. With the transformation, it would become ninety thousand. I need to go to a desolate or empty planet for this, a place where I can lose control at will. I'll need a spaceship. Maybe I'll borrow one, maybe I'll steal one. 'Who knows, after my first mission, I might just use that ship.'
Without any martial arts masters to teach me ki control and secret techniques or anything like that, I'm lost here.
All I know is pretty rudimentary, like concentrating your energy and throwing it out. Not that I don't like my mom's training; she helped me with the basics of my ki control, taught me how to fly, and how Saiyans fight, which is mainly basic punches and kicks with the maximum force you can hit with. The rest you learn by fighting multiple opponents, which definitely helps, but not now.
"Goku, Asta, Naruto, all those protagonists are lucky to have such strong masters." 'I'll have to figure this out on my own,' I murmur softly as I think to myself.
"Wait a minute, would this even work?" If it did, it would be amazing.
I quickly head to the nearest forest I can find, then stop in front of the first tree I see and pluck a few leaves. Then, I sit on the ground, getting comfortable in the shade of the tree. 'Alright, the leaf exercise is just sticking as many as I can to my body, if it doesn't explode with ki...'
Time to test. I place a leaf on my chest and hold it with my finger, then lightly push my ki to make it stick, and incredibly, it sticks. But... it was too easy. So I try with more and more leaves and end up looking like I'm doing cosplay of a bush. Anyway, it really is too easy.
I pull back my ki and let all the leaves fall. Time for another test: I put my foot on the tree bark next to me and push my ki to try and walk up the tree like the ninjas, but that was also too easy. "Damn it, this isn't going to help at all," I say as I walk all the way to the top of the tree.
Even my irritation didn't affect the walk at all.
So, I don't want to test walking on water; I'm not in the mood to get all wet. That leaves shape manipulation.
I return to my previous sitting position, concentrate on my ki and the shape I want it to take, then slowly try to mold it into a sword, but the result was far from what I wanted: a glowing mass of ki like a blue flame coming out of my hand, but you can see, if you pay close attention, an attempt at a blade forming. "Now this has potential," I say, smiling.
After that, for the next few hours, I test other things, exploring this training method. Simpler shapes like a ball are easy; I've done that before. But something like a triangle or a square is a bit more complicated, though not much. A spinning disc like Krillin's Kienzan (Destructo Disc) is much harder to make; it'll take me a few more days of practice to get it, but this training method really does have potential.
"Alright, that's enough for today. Time for dinner." I head to Gine's house, happy with my discovery.
=========================================================
Hey everyone! I've been watching and reading a lot about Dragon Ball recently, and it's been super inspiring. I've already got some ideas for future fights brewing, especially plans for an upcoming time skip.
