Chapter 1 - WHISPERS BENEATH THE BLOOD MOON

Season 1 Episode 1:

The eerie calm of the morning blanketed the world, where the sky was a sickly pale, and the clouds hung like remnants of forgotten nightmares. Birds screamed in the distance, their calls a haunting melody that echoed across the vast emptiness. The wind blew cold, shattering the leaves from the trees, as if the very air was disturbed by the impending doom that loomed unseen.

Children played in the streets, their laughter ringing out like hollow echoes. Old men ambled by, their faces etched with the passage of time, while others muttered aimlessly. The world seemed alive, thriving in the warmth of its carefree existence. But in the midst of it all, there walks a boy — Surya. The world moved around him, but he existed as though he was dead. His presence was nothing but a shadow of a life that had long since lost its meaning.

Surya, a quiet, frail boy, lived as though he was a ghost wandering through the living. His body was as thin as a plant's stem, easily ignored by those around him, as if his existence had no place in the world. Every day, he was taunted, mocked, and spat upon, and yet, he walked on — not out of strength, but out of sheer emptiness. His life was hollow, a void filled only with the sting of rejection. He never once questioned it, never once tried to fight back, for he had long believed that his fate was sealed by the cruel hand of luck.

Surya... the name whispered like a forgotten prayer, but it meant nothing. He was a shadow in a world of light, a being condemned to a life of nothingness.

---

The day continued, and Surya, with his hollow gaze, trudged to school. As he walked, a boy of his age sneered at him, pointing and laughing. "Look at that, guys! The living skeleton!" The laughter rang through the air, harsh and mocking, as Surya walked past them. These taunts were not new; they were an everyday ritual.

He was living only because his body refused to die.

His parents had died two years ago, murdered by a gang of looters. His mother, her voice trembling with fear, screamed at him, "Run... run away... don't look back!" His father, bloodied and broken, whispered in a final breath, "Remember this, Surya... the weak die first. Run. Run until you are strong enough to return."

The memories plagued him like a nightmare that would never fade. His eyes, once empty, now filled with tears as the past flooded him. His voice cracked as he murmured, "Why... why couldn't I do anything? Why was I so weak?"

Tears ran down his face, and the weight of his helplessness pressed down on him. He was nothing but a boy in the world, powerless to change the fate that had been thrust upon him.

---

Arriving at school, Surya entered the classroom, his heart heavy. "May I come in?" he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper. The teacher nodded, a scowl twisting her face. "Yes," she spat, clearly uninterested.

Surya made his way to the last bench, sitting beside Sai, the only person who had ever offered him any semblance of kindness. Sai was different. Strong, funny, and a little foolish at times, but always with a heart that never failed to care. He smiled at Surya, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

"Hey, Surya," Sai joked, "What if I were as thin as you? Maybe I'd start flying... or jumping off tall buildings!"

Surya's lips curled into a brief, hollow smile. It was a smile that didn't reach his eyes, one that carried the weight of years of sorrow. Sai saw it — the emptiness behind the smile. And it hurt. It hurt because he knew there was nothing he could do to truly make Surya happy again.

---

After school, Surya and Sai parted ways, each walking a different path home. But as Surya walked, something terrible happened.

A group of bullies appeared, blocking his path. One of them, a hulking figure, stepped forward with a sneer. "Well, well, what do we have here?" he mocked. "A weakling who thinks he deserves equality with the strong. Let me teachyoureality."

With that, he punched Surya, sending him to the ground. Blood leaked from Surya's mouth, staining his school uniform. The bully's voice dripped with venom. "You're nothing but dead weight. The earth would be better off without you."

The others laughed. Laughed as though they were above it all, as though Surya's pain was nothing more than a joke to them.

Another punch came, but this time, Sai was there. He grabbed the bully's arm, stopping him cold.

"Why are you doing this?" Sai demanded, his voice full of anger.

The bully sneered. "Oh, just another weakling standing up for him. I beat him because I'm bored. Now, let go of my arm, or I'll beat you too."

But before the situation could escalate, the ground beneath them trembled violently. Buildings shook, windows shattered, and the world seemed to fall into chaos. The sky above them darkened, turning an ominous shade of crimson. The wind howled, and the trees trembled as if they, too, could sense the approaching doom.

Then they saw it.

A creature, towering at nearly 20 feet tall, its muscular form was half-covered in torn, bleeding flesh. Its eyes were hollow, dark voids of nothingness. A grotesque hybrid of man and beast, it staggered into the city, its every step shaking the earth. With a savage roar, it tore a man from his motorcycle, ripping off his head and consuming the rest of his body in a grotesque frenzy.

The crowd froze, their eyes wide with terror. Nobody moved. The monster's presence was too horrifying, too unnatural.

And then, as if from nowhere, a voice whispered behind Surya, sending chills down his spine.

"Weaks die first... Remember this, Surya."

He spun around, heart racing, but there was no one there. The voice was gone, as though it had never existed.

But before he could process what had just happened, another shout echoed through the crowd.

"Look! There are more of them!"

Surya turned to see figures emerging from the shadows — more grotesque creatures, each more terrifying than the last, their eyes locked on the city. They were coming, and there was nowhere to hide.

The world slowed, and for a moment, time itself seemed to pause. Surya's blood ran cold as the monsters neared. His legs trembled, but his body refused to move.

Was this the beginning of the end for humanity?

The episode ended.
