Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The Legend of the Nine-Dragon Cup!

Hearing that, Harrison's brows furrowed deeply.

There was another reason he'd sent Kameda out to help with the search—he wanted him out of the way.

That way, when Zhang Yang showed up, they could make the arrest before Japan's side interfered.

[Harrison's gear looks flashy, but it's not really doing much!]

[Shit! Useless Kameda—even when he spots Kaitō Kid, he still lets him slip away!]

[What treasure could be inside this palace for Kaitō Kid to target it?]

[This is a private island. Its owner clearly has money to burn. Whatever's inside must be priceless!]

[Just being valuable isn't enough for Kaitō Kid to make a move—you're underestimating him!]

Every item Zhang Yang had stolen so far wasn't just expensive.

Each one had drawn attention from around the world. These weren't things that could be bought just with money.

"Director Harrison, someone just entered the second detection zone!"

A red marker appeared on the screen.

Zhang Yang leaned closer to get a look and instantly realized how they had caught Itō Itsuki earlier.

Harrison glared at Kameda and demanded, "Is this that ninja from your country?"

Zhang Yang paused. So Itō didn't even have a tracker on him?

No wonder he got caught.

"Probably. He said he was going after Kaitō Kid."

Harrison was about ready to explode.

He had laid out a carefully crafted plan—and now everything was a mess.

[Oh… Director Harrison looks seriously pissed off now!]

[Shit! Acting on his own like an idiot!]

[Hahaha! Don't tell me Itō Itsuki's actually Kaitō Kid's inside man?]

[Guard against outsiders all you want—can't guard against your own side. Might be time to investigate!]

[It's not god-level opponents you should fear—it's idiot-level teammates. Harrison is really suffering here.]

By now, Zhang Yang had already infiltrated the palace. All that was left was to locate the Nine-Dragon Cup.

He had originally planned to use Kameda's identity to redirect some of the guards to make things easier.

But clearly, Kameda had no real authority or presence.

"I'm going to stand guard outside."

Zhang Yang stepped out of the palace and wandered around for a bit. He found that the entire area was crawling with Harrison's agents.

At this point, even when they saw Zhang Yang, they didn't bother hiding their contempt—disdainful stares, full of annoyance.

"Man... Kameda's reputation really is in the gutter."

Zhang Yang sighed. Once he was out of sight, he released a white dove for scouting.

Then he put on Kaitō Kid's Monocle to observe the palace's interior.

The palace was huge, with tons of rooms.

Many of Colt's treasures weren't even kept in safes.

Since the island belonged to him entirely, he had never seriously considered the threat of theft.

Besides, he had over a hundred security guards rotating shifts twenty-four hours a day.

"Kangxi's Nine-Dragon Cup... where would you put something like that?"

The white dove flew through the palace, scanning for the Nine-Dragon Cup.

Zhang Yang was sure Colt wouldn't leave something that precious on the first floor.

And the fact that he hadn't even locked it up already surprised him.

Finally, on the third floor, in one of the reception rooms, the dove spotted the Nine-Dragon Cup.

Nine silver dragons, each with a different pose, coiled around a cup as thick as a bowl.

Legend was legend, after all.

After Emperor Kangxi's death, the Nine-Dragon Cup didn't transform into nine silver dragons and fly off into the heavens.

But that didn't make it any less priceless.

"This one... can't be carried in."

Zhang Yang took out the locator beacon and tied it to the white dove's neck.

The palace was surrounded by Harrison's agents—he needed to draw them away first.

He exchanged for an Illusion Dummy capsule and tossed it into a nearby patch of woods.

Soon, one of the agents spotted it.

"Two o'clock from the palace! Kaitō Kid spotted!"

The agent reported through his earpiece, alerting Harrison and the others.

Hearing this, Harrison rushed out of the palace hall.

Zhang Yang chuckled, then tossed a Super Smoke Bomb near the dummy.

In no time, the fake body was engulfed in smoke.

"Move in! Don't let him get away!"

The agents near the palace swarmed toward the area.

[Shit! Kaitō Kid is way too bold!]

[Kaitō Kid, you're walking straight into a trap! They've been waiting for this!]

[Harrison's crew has guns—even with smoke cover, this is still dangerous!]

[No! What is Kaitō Kid thinking? He's basically handing himself over!]

As soon as they entered the smoke, they'd realize it was just a dummy.

Which meant Zhang Yang only had a narrow window of time.

He quickly circled to the other side of the palace and exchanged for a grappling gun from the points store.

Whoosh—

The hook embedded deeply into the palace wall. Zhang Yang used the rope to climb up to the third floor, then reeled the rope inside to avoid detection.

He already knew where the Nine-Dragon Cup was, so he went straight to the reception room.

When he laid eyes on it through the display case, a grin spread across his face.

The case required a key card to open—not exactly high security.

But to Zhang Yang, that was as good as nothing.

He grabbed a nearby chair. The palace's chairs had red copper legs—heavy and solid.

Bang—

One hard swing shattered the glass case.

Immediately, a blaring alarm echoed through the palace.

"Oh my god! Someone broke into the display case!"

Colt, who was in the main hall, leapt to his feet and sprinted upstairs.

[Oh my god! What's going on?!]

[Did Kaitō Kid get inside the palace? What was that noise?]

[Hahaha! Harrison got played again!]

[Unbelievable. They fall for it every time!]

"Shit! It was a trap!"

Harrison heard the alarm from inside the palace and immediately realized something was wrong.

After grabbing the Nine-Dragon Cup, Zhang Yang ran straight to the top floor, glanced out the window.

The agents had already discovered the dummy in the smoke. Harrison was leading his team back into the palace.

What none of them knew was that the item Zhang Yang came for was already in hand. Now all that was left was to plan his escape from the island.

Right in front of the palace was a helicopter from the Enforcement Bureau. As Harrison and his men charged back into the palace, Zhang Yang used his Silver-Winged Cape and glided straight down.

The first thing he did wasn't boarding the helicopter.

Instead, he went into the points store and exchanged for a box of fireworks—and lit them.

That's right. A celebration for securing the Nine-Dragon Cup!

"Stop him! Don't let Kaitō Kid escape!"

By the time Harrison and his team heard the fireworks outside, Zhang Yang was already inside the helicopter, powering it up.

Harrison ran to the window and could only watch as Zhang Yang piloted the helicopter into the sky, rising through a burst of dazzling fireworks.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

Harrison was furious.

Everyone in the livestream chat was stunned.

[Oh my god! Kaitō Kid did it again—unbelievable!]

[He's unreal. Even with that kind of security setup tonight, he still pulled it off—and had time to set off fireworks!]

[Gotta admit, those fireworks are actually really pretty.]

[Shit! When did Kaitō Kid even get into the palace?!]

The moment the fireworks bloomed over the island, every agent and guard froze.

And when they saw the rising helicopter, they all knew—

The operation had failed again.
