Chapter 2 - Triple Kill

Casimir's eyes were locked on the baseball bat held in her hand, his body trembling.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!"

The sudden exclamation snapped him out of his trance.

"W-What do you want from me?.." Casimir muttered, voice shaky.

"What do I want from you? What do YOU want from me?! You're the one who broke down my door and came wandering in to MY home like you own the place! Not to mention you brought like 6 wanderers for me to deal with all by myself!"

Casimir took a second to think about it, he WAS guilty of all that was mentioned but what else could he have done?

"Look, I'm sorry okay, I tried knocking but if I had waited any longer I could've been killed! Please try to understand, I don't mean any harm!"

The mysterious woman analyses the room before emitting a deep sigh, "yeah, you don't really look the type."

Casimir wasn't sure how exactly to take this but was relieved that her angry gaze seemed to have loosened a bit.

"S-so—"

"Do you have any weapons on you at all?"

The lady interrupted, looking Casimir up and down.

"Just an old crowbar, it landed in the floor somewhere when I fell but I haven't been able to find it."

"A crowbar? Why would you be walking around with a crowbar of all things?"

Casimir sighed and rolled his eyes, this wasn't the first time he had heard this question.

"I'll have you know that not only is the crowbar extremely versatile but is very effective at fighting off the dead ones!"

A sense of passion rang through his voice, he had clearly taken a very big liking to the weapon.

"Besides! You can't be talking with that flimsy wooden baseball bat, what the hell is that gonna do!" Casimir exclaimed.

Although it did hurt pretty bad when she rocked him over the head with it moments earlier…

"Hehe.." the lady let out an ominous chuckle as she dropped the bat on the hardwood floor and reached into 2 long leather pouches sitting on each side of her hips, pulling something out of them .

Casimir's jaw dropped in awe

"Pretty rad, huh?" The lady said with a grin on her face, 2 shiny long butchers knives in each of her hands.

"That is terrifyingly awesome!" He exclaimed eyes fixated on the extremely sharp blades.

Casimir rose to his feet and slowly began to approach the young lady.

"Hey!" She barked, pointing one of the knives right at him, "Back up!"

Casimir instinctively raised his hands slowly stepping backwards.

"Woah! Okay, okay. That's my bad."

The lady looked at Casimir with guilty eyes, almost as if she regretted her previous outburst. "Sorry… that was kinda uncalled for."

"No it's all good" he said reassuringly, "what's your name? If you don't mind me asking of course" Casimir chuckled awkwardly.

"Kyra Ashwood!" She responded, a smile on her face.

"Ashwood? Wow that's badass!" Casimir said in response, a grin on his face to.

"And you?"

"Oh, yes! My name is Casimir, Casimir Grey!"

Kyra swiftly re-seethed the two deadly blades and stuck out her palm for a handshake.

Casimir quickly grabbed her hand, shaking it violently. "It's great to meet you Kyra!"

"Not sure if I can say the same after all your antics" Said kyra.

They both chuckled

"I'm joking of course, it's a pleasure Casimir."

Casimir caught sight of his trusty crowbar laying near a marble counter on the floor, looking to Kyra for reassurance that it was okay for him to have in his possession before he crouched down and grabbed it.

Kyra started climbing the staircase "cmon, it's not safe being down here with the door and all" casimir nodded in response following her upstairs and into a random bedroom.

Kyara lent down and began to zip open a backpack laying on the bed "So, where should we go?" She asked Casimir.

"Huh?" He replied in suprise "You mean you wanna travel with me?"

"Yes! There's so many places I wanna see and it's lonely doing it by myself…" she said, pulling a rather large rolled up map from her bag.

Casimir took a minute to think it over, to be honest he did get lonely too sometimes and he didn't have anything better to do..

"Yeah, sure! That sounds nice!" he exclaimed pulling a thumbs up a teeth-fulled smile on his face.

Kyra chuckled, and started tracing her finger on the rough paper, "Here!" She said excitedly poking the map.

Casimir looked over her shoulder confused "uhhh, I don't know how to read maps.."

"It was a famous landmark from before the drop, it's called 'Land-man's voyage'!"

"What exactly is it?" Casimir asked scratching his chin.

"I have positively zero idea!" Kyra said with a stupid smile on her face.

They shared a laugh before packing everything they would need. (Or what they could find in the run down home)

Kyra escorted Casimir through a window on the left side of the house's bottom floor, "we'll have to go on a hike through the woodlands".

Kyra swiftly leaped through the window, however Casimir wasn't so graceful.

"Shhhhh…" Kyra had a finger on her lips and pointed towards a group of 3 dead ones blocking their path "Wait here I've got it".

Casimir tried to stop her but before he could say anything she was sprinting towards the dead, knifes in hand. She jumped up and grabbed one by the head slicing its neck wide open and sawing its head off.

"Holy shit.." Casimir watched in wonder.

She swept the second off its feet and plunged the 2 knife's into its eye sockets and repeated this routine with the third. giving Casimir the Okay to approach.

"That was insane!" Casimir had never seen anything like it.

Kyra bowed "thank you, thank you!"

As they begin their journey through the wilderness, a figure remained; silent, patient, watching.
