Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: The beginning of an Adventure

---

Enter Kenji Hatamchi, a young man whose life could not be described as particularly hard, nor was it especially easy—it simply was. Born in Japan to two parents who, by their own admission, were unprepared for the responsibilities of parenthood, Kenji was sent at a very young age to live with his aunt and uncle in America. Despite the potential upheaval, Kenji quickly adjusted to his new environment, gradually coming to see his aunt and uncle not merely as caretakers, but as his true family.

Academically gifted from the start, Kenji was a straight-A student—effortlessly so. Yet his intelligence and quiet nature made him a target. He was bullied relentlessly throughout much of his early schooling, singled out for being different, for excelling where others struggled, and for simply not fitting in. The constant ridicule wore on him, and over time, he began to internalize the negativity. Though he never gave up, he often found himself questioning his worth.

Despite the emotional toll, Kenji chose not to share his struggles with his aunt and uncle. He understood, even at a young age, how broken the school system could be. He knew the bullies would face little more than a slap on the wrist—and that any confrontation might only make things worse. More than anything, though, he didn't want to burden the only real family he had with problems he believed were his alone to carry.

Kenji's solace came from his hobbies. He was an avid gamer, and his favorite was Heavenly Blade, a fantasy action RPG known for its brutal difficulty—a true soulslike experience. He relished the challenge, finding comfort in those punishing digital worlds where perseverance was always rewarded. He also loved reading, diving deep into novels, manga, and manhwa. These passions, however, only gave the bullies more ammunition, branding him a "nerd" and deepening his sense of isolation.

But change was on the horizon.

In the final months of middle school, Kenji made a quiet decision: to better himself. For the first time in his life, he began to study with intent, pushing himself academically not just for grades, but for self-improvement. He started working out, gaining confidence in both his appearance and his abilities. Most importantly, he began to view himself not as a victim, but as someone capable of growth.

By the time he entered high school, the bullying had all but stopped. He wasn't popular—not by any stretch—but he was respected. Or, at the very least, left alone. He remained quiet, introverted, and introspective, but no longer filled with self-loathing.

It was during his freshman year, at the age of fifteen, that he met Amy and Eric.

They became quick friends, and in their next year, all three were placed in the same class.

Eric was a chubbier guy, but he made up for it in heart. Kind and caring, he was also quite nerdy—bullied in his younger years just like Kenji. That shared pain allowed them to bond deeply. They worked out together, and before long, Eric's round exterior gave way to a leaner frame. With it, his shy demeanor faded—at least around Kenji and Amy.

Amy was shorter than most girls, but carried herself with a certain quiet gravity. She had curves—compact, with a round ass and large breasts—but it was her eyes that told her real story. Insecure about her height and looks, she came from a broken home. Her father was abusive, her mother mentally absent. Eventually, she was placed into foster care, where, for the first time, she found a sliver of peace.

Kenji and Amy grew closer over time and eventually became a couple—each giving the other their first time. But things had changed lately.

It was now late into the school year. Kenji sat in class, surrounded by students buzzing with excitement. Everyone had passed with flying colors. Their teacher sat at the front, looking disinterested, weary—tired of life.

Kenji turned to Amy and asked softly, "Hey bae, what're you gonna do for summer?"

Amy replied without looking at him, her voice flat. "Why do you need to know? You really need to stop being so nosy."

Kenji's gaze dropped to the floor. "I'm... sorry for asking."

"You better be. Now shut up—I'm trying to listen to Eric," she almost growled.

Kenji's heart sank. Amy had changed. She used to be kind, sweet—even gentle with him. Now... she seemed annoyed by his presence, enamored with Eric instead. Kenji didn't want to admit it, but deep down, he feared the truth. He hoped it was just a long, bad mood. Because if she really didn't love him anymore... he didn't know what he'd do.

His thoughts were cut short as glowing golden runes suddenly appeared on the floor, forming a circle around them.

He stood up, startled. "Hey guys... what the hell is that?" he asked, pointing down.

Eric looked as well. "What the fuck? That looks like something out of a game."

The runes pulsed with a blinding light that quickly engulfed the entire classroom.

When Kenji opened his eyes, he found himself not in class, but in a massive throne room. An ornate space with tapestries, marble floors, and an imposing throne. Standing before them was a regal king in golden robes, flanked by men and women in long cloaks, holding glowing staves. Dozens of armored knights stood at attention, guarding every entrance.

Something about this place felt too familiar. Then it hit him—it was the starting area from Heavenly Blade, the game he had loved for so long.

His classmates erupted into chaos, shouting in panic and disbelief. But Kenji remained still, eyes scanning every detail.

Then the king spoke, his voice echoing across the chamber.

"Welcome, great heroes and heroines. I am King Alvareth of the Lamation Empire. I have summoned you here to help save this world from the approaching Demon God. Each of you has been granted a unique skill to aid you in this endeavor."

The class didn't believe him. Some joked it was a prank, a reality show. But that laughter died when one of the robed mages raised a hand and conjured a swirling orb of water mid-air—real magic.

Silence fell.

The king continued, voice booming. "Now, make a line and 1 by 1 U will put Ur hand on this crystal . You will be shown your mana level . Then you shall report them to the mage beside me for classification and lodging."

Their teacher stepped forward, voice shaky. "What if we don't want to participate? What if we want to return home?"

The king's eyes narrowed. "Impossible. The portal to your world has closed. It cannot be reopened. If you refuse to participate... only death awaits you."

"This is illegal," the teacher stammered. "You can't just—"

His words were cut short. A nearby knight swung his blade without hesitation. The teacher's head hit the marble with a sickening thud.

Screams erupted from the class. Panic, hysteria, disbelief.

But Kenji remained still. Only one thought echoed in his mind:

Protect Amy. Protect Eric. Survive.

The king raised his voice again. "Anyone else wish to object?"

The silence was deafening.

"Good. Now, each of you— begin the mana test.

Kenji's eyes narrowed, mind already racing through possibilities. This world… his world, from his favorite game. If anyone had a chance to survive here—it was him.

End of Chapter 1.
