Chapter 17 - 17

The new life in Konoha has been a strange experience for Touki. Very different from what it was in the beginning, when visits were sporadic and only related to the coal business. Now, without financial worries and with enough strength to protect himself, the village represents a world of new opportunities, and a nostalgic image of another time when he saw everything through a television screen.

The hustle and bustle of moving and everything that's been happening lately hasn't allowed Touki to make as much progress as he'd like with his research, but even so, the results pile up, one by one, paving the way for more complex algorithms and more revolutionary applications. One of the most important discoveries was a strange combination that, despite showing signs of energetic activity, didn't promise a concrete effect, but when combined with other combinations, delivered the greatest surprise.

The first practical experiment with the strange combination was to mix it with another combination that was capable of creating dimensional spaces, resulting in a strange dimensional alteration, quite short and fleeting, but that seemed to be trying to connect with something. Touki did not understand at first what had really happened, but by increasing the amount of energy, the experiment resulted in a longer duration of the dimensional alteration, but still with the sensation that it was trying to connect with something, as if it were trying to open something but without success.

Thus began a race for Touki to find a solution to the strange problem of the experiment, designing and testing a variety of algorithms to find a solution to the mystery. But everything took a bizarre turn when the metal plate on which the experiment was being tested suddenly disappeared. Both he and Suki panicked, but they found nothing wrong with the room or its surroundings.

"Oh my god" Then something clicked in Touki's head, as he began to analyze what happened in detail, and everything began to make sense to him, so he left the basement and went straight to his room, where he found the metal plate next to one of his storage devices.

'I discovered damn teleportation' Touki thought at that moment, as he picked up the metal plate, only to drop it when he realized how hot it was. Analyzing the plate in detail, he found it was fractured, hot enough to burn skin, and completely drained of energy. That was equivalent to a bucket of cold water on the man's expectations.

Despite the significant discovery, Touki was able to calculate that the sheer amount of energy used to move the small plate meant that if he wanted to transport something large and heavy enough, like a person, in a practical sense, he would have to completely redesign the way energy was stored. On the other hand, the fragility of metal and its tendency to heat up is another factor to consider, though understandable considering the amount of energy channeled in such a short period of time.

Adding up all the bad things, it was still a colossal breakthrough to be able to teleport matter, with the sole condition that it required a sort of beacon in the form of a storage seal. So the following experiments focused on determining whether something could be transported without destroying it in the process.

Touki moved the investigation to his old house, because despite his basement being filled with artifacts capable of interfering with chakra, the fear of teleporting something to the wrong place posed a danger the man couldn't afford to take. Because of this, Karin had to stay alone for several afternoons while both he and Suki were working.

Touki optimized the algorithms, improved the energy capacity, and replaced the materials with better ones. As a result, he was able to teleport a live chicken from his workshop to the location of a specially designed artifact over a kilometer away within the forest. The only catch is that the energy storage seals take about an hour to accumulate enough energy to perform the space jump, even then finishing the damaged artifact.

Soon, Touki's dreams of becoming a kind of Minato and his Hiraishin no jutsu crumbled like a house of cards. But the man didn't give up, and together with Suki, they spent over a month developing an attachment capable of adhering to his armor and capable of performing at least two teleportations before breaking, based solely on the logic that the more energy is required, the more storage seals are used.

One December morning, a reckless and determined Touki donned his armor, prayed to every god he could remember, and activated the artifact positioned on his chest. This caused him to disappear from his workshop and reappear almost instantly more than 10 kilometers away in the basement of another house, in a village east of Konoha. A resounding success.

When Touki returned home, with a second leap, the man wept with happiness as he removed the armor that was burning his chest. Then, with great emotion, he hugged Suki, who screamed with joy at seeing her master return safe and sound. That afternoon, the celebration was grand, and Touki took his two "sisters" out to eat barbecue, sushi, and whatever else they wanted, something that greatly surprised Karin, who didn't know what was really going on.

The ability to perform dimensional jumps, as Touki decided to call them, represented a new game changer for him. Before that, Touki was quite limited in his ability to fight against the strongest shinobi without the fear of being surrounded and overwhelmed, as his speed remains his Achilles' heel. But now, with such an ace up his sleeve, Touki can think of many other ways to interfere in the power games taking place in the world.

For Touki, the uncontrolled fighting between large hidden villages, as well as secret organizations like Akatsuki, occurs primarily because there is no fear of anything that can counteract them. Ninjas represent only a fraction of the world's population and have so much power, to the point of being capable of wiping out the human race if they really wanted to. Many desire peace and harmony, but in the end, all ninjas are killers by profession, and it only takes a small spark for them to start killing each other, resulting in wars.

Touki is no expert in politics or strategy, but he knows that for peace to exist, there must be balance. This world is destined to be the stage for countless conflicts and wars unleashed by ninjas, endangering everyone's lives. And while Touki could simply hide and wait for everything to play out according to the original plot, he simply refuses to be a spectator. The man has the tools, the ingenuity, and the temerity to completely turn the tables on the world's power system if he sets his mind to it, and in that moment, when he returned from the dimensional leap and hugged Suki, a girl born during the war and who lived her entire childhood in abject poverty, Touki truly made up his mind.

From that moment on, Touki began planning a series of actions aimed at creating new players within the global power game. The man's reasoning stems from the nature of his artifacts, which are completely novel, practical, powerful, and, above all, virtually impossible to replicate. Touki investigated the matter extensively and found nothing similar, especially the ability to harness natural energy. The only similar thing being the fuinjutsu seals.

Ever since Touki developed his seal language, he'd always feared that if he dared to sell and popularize his inventions, all the shinobi in the world would be after his secrets. But now, with the ability to appear and disappear, things have changed completely.

The man plans to fully utilize his discoveries to his advantage and harness all the knowledge he still possesses from the main plot to foil all the original villains' plans. At the same time, with the help of his artifacts, he will seek to counter the excessive power of the ninjas in the world.
