I will never get used to that annoying sound. The sound of my heartbeat, something I know is going to stop beating soon. I've long come to terms with that fact but sometimes, when I think about it too long, it scares me…
Seven months ago I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that gave me a life expectancy of seven months, so my time is about to run out, funny isn't it? BUT, enough of the depressing garbo, I lived the past seven months in this hospital room reading every comic I could get my hands on. From Marvel and DC comics to smaller unknown comics that will not be mentioned. After reading hundreds of them, I realized that the one character that reached my soul was Jean Grey.
Her struggles, her fierceness, her kindness, and her powers are all things I wish I had. Things that I—if reincarnation is real—will strive to achieve. SO, MAN UPSTAIRS IF YOU'RE LISTENING THEN-

At that very moment, an electrical current short-circuited her life support system, giving her a very quick death. A large white hand took her soul out of her body. Her soul was all white with a singular speck of black, insinuating she lived a life mostly free of bad karma.
"Let's see how you'll fare if I grant your wish child." The voice behind the white hand said as he took her soul and placed it on a golden operating table. He took a small bird out of a cage and placed it next to her soul. The bird chirped at him angrily for waking her up.
"I'm sorry little one. Trust me, this will be worth your while. If I'm wrong then I'll let you have all the Galactus Seeds you want alright?" The voice pleaded as he slowly petted her head. The bird cooed and nodded, she turned into a bright golden flame and melted into the girl's soul turning it gold.
"Thank you. Now to add some finishing touches." The voice put two large purple orbs into her soul and a large white orb as well. He then grabbed her soul and placed it in a vast array of lights.
"Now for the fun part. I've always wondered what would happen if I combined these two multiverses together," The voice said as he grabbed a ginormous red ball filled with lights and a smaller blue orb filled with lights. He fused them together creating a gigantic iridescent orb.
The voice, a being of pure light, smiled at his newfound creation.
"Surely with her new life, new powers, and new world, she'll be…"

[Chicago Inner City Hospital, May 7th, 2003.]
"AAAAAAHHHH!!!" A shrill scream echoed throughout the maternity ward. An Asian woman was currently giving birth with her husband, a man with a very luscious mustache, holding her hand for support.
"You've got this Debbie!" Nolan said enthusiastically as Debbie pushed again. Then a loud cry filled the room, the cry of a baby.
"Congratulations, Mr and Mrs. Grayson, the first one of the pair has arrived, a beautiful baby girl." The doctor said as he gave the crying baby to her father as Debbie was starting to push the other one out.
Nolan looked down at his daughter who stopped crying and stared right into his eyes. Her amber eyes meeting his blue ones.

[Jeanne POV]
WHAT THE FUCK?! NOLAN GRAYSON, OMNI-MAN, IS MY FATHER?! I was in genuine shock, one second I was pleading to be reincarnated and now I'm looking at one of my favorite comic book characters. Thank you man upstairs, I owe you one. Does that mean I replaced Mark?
I heard the cry of another baby and when I was placed in my mother's arms, my question was answered. Looks like Mark is no longer an only child. This is big, firstly I'm a half viltrumite! And second-
'How beautiful.'
'Why does Nolan Grayson look so much like Omni-Man?'
'I think I'll eat pizza tonight.'
'The moon is bright Jesus Christ!'
'My mommy is so annoying!'
'Thank god my wife is gone…'
'How do we stop Omni-Man?'
All of these voices flooded my mind, so many voices, too many voices!! It's like the entire city was in my head, I can't take it…

Debbie and Nolan were immediately alarmed when their daughter suddenly passed out in her arms.
"Doctor what's wrong?! Is she okay?!" Debbie yelled in fear as the doctor scooped Jeanne up. He checked her vitals and breathing, and all were fine.
"I'm not sure, I'll bring her to the pediatric ward so she can undergo testing. Please remain optimistic." The doctor said as he ran out of the room.
"Nolan, is our baby gonna be okay?" Debbie asked with tears streaming down her face. Nolan hugged Debbie and Mark tightly his expression extremely worried, "I'm sure she will. I promise she will be."

[Jeanne POV]
When I opened my eyes, I couldn't hear the sounds of the hospital. Everything was eerily quiet. I also noticed I wasn't a baby, I had the body of a small child. I looked around and everything was white, like everything. The ground, the sky, even what looked like the sun.
"Welcome child." I heard the voice of a woman and its owner was soon revealed. A huge Phoenix descended upon me, something I was NOT ready for. I subconsciously fell down and started to scoot back.
"Do not be scared child. I am not here to harm you, in fact, I brought you here. I am Phoenix, the end and beginning." I have the Phoenix Force inside of me? Lemme get this straight. Not only am I a half-viltrumite, a telepath, but I also have the Phoenix Force?! To say I'm a wee bit overpowered is an understatement. I have so much power at my fingertips and I'm not even a day old yet! I see what you mean now Spider-Man.
"Hi." I waved awkwardly at her. Surprisingly, she laughed!
"Hello, Jeanne Grayson. No need to introduce yourself as I know everything about you. I am you and you are me, we are tied to each other eternally." The Phoenix said as she landed and turned into me. She had my red hair, my pale skin, and all of my facial features. The only striking difference between us was her flaming eyes. A little scary not gonna lie but also comforting in a way. Someone who knows me better than I know myself.
"It looks like you're going to wake up soon. To avoid passing out from being overwhelmed I suggest you start creating psionic shields as soon as possible. Farewell, my friend." Phoenix said as everything in the white room began to be blurry and I opened my eyes again to see a doctor staring me down.
How in the world do I create psionic shields?! I felt the voices of many people begin to creep up into my mind so I just tried blocking them out. By the worried looks on everyone's face, passing out is not in my best interest right now. But the force the voices had was overwhelming and despite my efforts to block them out, a few slipped in.
'My dog is so cute, too bad I have to put him down.'
'Today I'm gonna ask my crush out!'
'This food is inedible as usual, what if just died right now…'
But my blocking out partially worked, instead of what felt like the entire city it was more like a small town now. I looked over at my father and read his mind, I'm curious about what goes on in there.
'I cannot forget my mission. I hope my children will follow me when I explain to them my true purpose here. I don't want to have to…kill them.'
Yikes, dad can't even think happy thoughts when your children are born? Think happy thoughts! At that moment, my mind acted as a router and everyone was connected to my mental Wi-Fi.
'You know, maybe I don't have to put my dog down.'
'Maybe the food here isn't that bad…'
'My crush will say yes!'
'What am I thinking? Killing my own children? I'm sure it won't come down to that.'
Good dad! But what I should learn to control my powers more before doing that again. With great power comes great responsibility.
