Chapter 9 - Rewind and Ninjutsu

It was like a DVD freezing mid-playback.

But Ishiki was prepared for it. He quickly commanded Moody Blues to rewind and replay the sequence again at 0.2x speed.

The Stand's movements slowed dramatically.Even the chakra flow became vividly visible to Ishiki's Sharingan.

But the moment the playback reached the previous freeze point—it froze again.

Ishiki already had a theory. The Flying Thunder God Technique (Hiraishin no Jutsu) was a space-time jutsu, and space-type ninjutsu was beyond the scope of Moody Blues to reproduce.

Because the instant Minato activated the jutsu, he essentially vanished from the "timeline" Moody Blues could replicate.

Even if Ishiki could mimic every motion and reproduce the chakra patterns with perfect precision—it wouldn't matter. He couldn't activate Flying Thunder God.

The critical issue was the jutsu's pre-loaded formula.

To Ishiki, the Flying Thunder God felt like a custom-made reverse summoning jutsu, where the caster pre-marks a destination and can instantly teleport to it when needed.

Without knowing how to inscribe the Flying Thunder God formula, there was no way he could recreate the technique—no matter how well he understood its chakra mechanics.

Still, Ishiki confirmed one thing:

The Sharingan is absurdly useful.

No wonder Kakashi Hatake, even with a single Sharingan eye, had earned the title of Copy Ninja.

If Ishiki could refine his battle reflexes, he could copy hand signs, observe chakra flow, and recreate enemy jutsu in real-time.

Whether or not he could immediately cast those jutsu was another matter. But learning them would be far easier.

Sighing, he paused Moody Blues and began rewinding further back.

Space-time ninjutsu was too valuable to pass up.To Ishiki, Flying Thunder God was one of the greatest survival jutsu in the shinobi world. If he could grasp it, he'd never fear ambush again.

Moody Blues continued rewinding—but it stopped again soon after.

This time, when Minato's actions and outfit appeared on screen, Ishiki's cheeks turned red.

"...Keep rewinding," he muttered.

He knew what this was. Minato had apparently been having a little fun with Kushina.

Moody Blues could rewind years in minutes, but the process was still interrupted frequently.

By the time Ishiki had sifted through all the useful data and taken notes, it was already dawn.

He'd pulled an all-nighter.

Yawning, he dismissed Moody Blues, opened the curtains, and cracked the window.

The cold, clean morning air jolted him awake.

Both his chakra and mental stamina were drained. But it wasn't a rest day—so he cleaned up, stored his research notes, washed up, and changed into training gear before heading out.

He'd been steadily working on taijutsu training, but with his current physique, he figured it would take months to a year before he could begin practicing Yang Release-based Nintaijutsu.

During that time, he'd need to both bulk up physically and deepen his understanding of yang-nature chakra.

The former was easy. The latter… less so.

Yin Release was rooted in the spiritual side, allowing users to conjure phantom constructs through mental power.

Yang Release, meanwhile, was rooted in physical energy, used to infuse life into inanimate matter.

Of course, those textbook definitions applied only to high-level masters of each nature. All Ishiki wanted was for Yang chakra to make his hair grow faster, honestly.

According to his notes, the Akimichi Clan also possessed a natural affinity for Yang Release.Their signature jutsu, the Expansion Technique (Baika no Jutsu), was a known manifestation of partial Yang mastery.

Ishiki actually had a disc from an Akimichi ninja but had yet to use it.It might help him understand Yang chakra control more quickly.

One other possibility he came across—Mystical Palm Technique (Shōsen Jutsu).

This A-rank medical ninjutsu was another way to meet the requirement for Yang-based Nintaijutsu. But its difficulty was sky-high.

The Mystical Palm required precise chakra manipulation and a deep understanding of medical theory and diagnosis.

Too much chakra output could rupture the patient's circulatory system.Too little, and the technique would have no effect.

Most A-rank jutsu were reserved for Jōnin and above.

Even the B-rank Healing Extraction Technique Ishiki had obtained earlier—if mastered—would already make him a standout among Chūnin.

So unless he regained Whitesnake, and could extract both the memory and ninjutsu discs of a seasoned Mystical Palm user…

…he'd have to rely on Moody Blues, finding such users and watching their practice in slow motion.

But that could take ages.

Still—it was an idea.

As he jogged, Ishiki kept thinking.

Aside from Nintaijutsu training, he had several other jutsu to work on—techniques he'd recorded from Moody Blues' rewind the night before.

The Flying Thunder God Technique

Kushina Uzumaki's sealing techniques

And the Rasengan

Of the three, sealing jutsu might be the easiest to learn.

Not because sealing was simple—it wasn't.But because Kushina hadn't practiced the most advanced techniques like Adamantine Sealing Chains, Four Symbols Seal, or Eight Trigrams Sealing Style inside her home.

Instead, she'd often created storage scrolls, sealed chakra or tools, and experimented with chakra restriction tags.

These techniques weren't flashy, but they were incredibly practical—and easy for Ishiki to copy using the Sharingan and Moody Blues.

After all, who'd randomly bust out a Reaper Death Seal in their living room?

As for Flying Thunder God and Rasengan—they weren't things Minato had practiced casually, either.

Flying Thunder God:He'd often carve formulae into kunai at home. That was how Ishiki observed the intricate designs.

Rasengan:Minato had been experimenting with chakra nature transformation, and Rasengan was part of that process.

But Flying Thunder God was still the hardest of the three.

Ishiki hadn't found any scrolls containing the actual formula. He'd have to reverse-engineer the seal from observing Minato's chakra flow and hand movements while crafting the kunai.

This was infinitely harder than just learning it from a scroll.

But there was no alternative.Minato likely had the formula memorized—never once did he pull out a training scroll.

The Flying Thunder God was already an S-rank jutsu, and Ishiki was trying to recreate it through observation alone.

It was a madman's gamble.

But if he could pull it off… the rewards would be game-changing.

Lastly—the Rasengan.

This one wasn't too difficult.

Creating the Rasengan from scratch was nearly impossible. But learning it from Minato's model, combined with Ishiki's memories of Jiraiya teaching Naruto?

It would just take time and effort.

Still, Flying Thunder God, Rasengan, and sealing jutsu had one thing in common—

Massive chakra consumption.

Throw in the chakra-draining Sharingan, and once again, he was back at square one.

His chakra pool simply wasn't large enough.

"If only I had a Tailed Beast sealed in me," Ishiki sighed."A personal chakra reactor… that would solve everything."
