A creature with a slender head, its ears are hollow cavities on the sides of its head. It has a long neck connected to a humanoid body with a hunched back, and its spine is covered by stiff fins. Its arms are long, ending in two sharp fingers, and small fins protrude from its elbows. Its thin legs rest on feet that end in only two toes. Its skin is pale gray, with faint purple veins showing beneath, and its body is covered only by a tattered cloth below the waist.

The only useful information on this page was its strengths. Alvin drew his sword from its shiny wooden sheath, wondering whether the creature's "strong senses" posed a threat to him or not—especially since its level was: E.
The second problem was their large number, along with the hunters' corpses scattered around them—and that never looked good. Luckily, he had increased his speed and still had a temporary buff... but his expression darkened as he looked at the timer in front of him. Had he slept for more than nine hours?! The timer had stopped, which meant he lost the buff!
"Damn it!" he muttered angrily, staring at those monsters that looked ready to attack at any moment. "Where are you, Mr. Pie?!"
Alvin dashed forward, and in a single motion, he severed the head of one of the Azvarin. Blue blood splattered on his face and clothes, but he didn't stop.
He spun his body in a half-circle to stab a monster behind him—but it wasn't there. Suddenly, another one appeared from his side.
At that moment, he regretted not boosting his senses along with his speed. His weakened senses, especially his hearing, made fighting these fast creatures much harder.
Suddenly, Alvin noticed that the monsters attacking him just moments ago had stopped moving. They seemed to be staring at the ground with wide eyes, while some of them slowly began approaching him. He didn't quite understand what was happening, but he felt it was a good chance to escape.
He quickly slipped through the monsters, taking advantage of their thin bodies to pass between them, then used his sword to strike the necks of those that were still frozen in place.
New corpses fell, but in return, more monsters emerged from the alleys and distant shops. It looked like they were working as a team, helping each other in battle. If things kept going like this and Alvin's master didn't show up, he might end up crushed beneath their feet!
At the same time, inside the clothing store, where Elina and Meryl were lying on a pile of clothes, Elina began to stir. She groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, her whole body aching. She looked around in confusion, puzzled by her presence in a clothing store.
"Meryl!" she whispered in fear, immediately leaning over to check on her friend. Hearing her steady heartbeat, she sighed in relief. Meryl was okay... but questions started flooding her mind: Who brought her here? Who saved her from the monsters? She clearly remembered Meryl had been unconscious when she fell…
She looked around the place again, but it was empty! She picked up a metal rod nearby, removed the clothes hanger attached to it, then cautiously stood up to inspect the area.
Suddenly, the sound of screaming came from outside… her body froze in fear.
There was screaming outside… which meant danger was close. Elina felt a wave of anxiety and swallowed her dry throat with difficulty. She looked at the sleeping Meryl, then at the closed door. The presence of people outside meant this place was no longer safe!
She rushed to Meryl and began shaking her, trying to wake her up. "Meryl, wake up!"
Meryl groaned a little and slowly opened her eyes. "Elina?" she whispered sleepily.
Elina quickly nodded and said with concern, "Wake up, we're in danger!"
Meryl sat up quickly, looking around in fear, her heart pounding. "Where are we? And how did we get here?"
Elina said as she scanned the place, "We're in a clothing store, and I have no idea how we got here." Then she grabbed the nearby metal rod and stood up, adding, "There are people outside, and if they come in, we won't be able to escape this closed space!"
"Wait a moment…" Meryl whispered, then ran her fingers through the game system interface. She opened her inventory and pulled out two pistols she had obtained earlier. She handed one to Elina and kept the other. "It's a stun gun. It shoots electric rounds. Only three shots, and you need to be close to the enemy to hit. Also, it doesn't kill—it just causes temporary paralysis."
That meant she'd have to finish off the enemy with her own hands after hitting it. Elina nodded tensely, her trembling hand tightening around the trigger, while her other hand gripped the metal rod. Meryl also picked up a metal rod, and together they cautiously approached the door.
After a silent nod between them, Elina slowly opened the door. What she saw beyond the threshold froze the blood in her veins. One of the Azvarin's faces was directly in front of hers, breathing deeply before exhaling a foul, moldy stench.
She wanted to scream, to move, to lift even a single finger… but her body was frozen, as if any motion would shatter her bones.
Beside her, Meryl noticed the monster's full attention was on Elina. She raised the metal rod above her head and brought it down with all her strength onto its skull. Elina heard the cracking sound and saw the creature collapse to the ground while Meryl continued hitting it without stopping.
Control returned to Elina's body, and she quickly crouched down, joining Meryl in smashing the creature's bones.
But between the strikes, Elina lifted her head... and her breath froze once again.
The street was filled with dozens of the same monsters, as if they were clones of the corpse beneath her hands.
"Damn it…" she whispered, her breathing shallow, her eyes scanning in every direction for a way out.
But she found no exit...
Instead, she saw something else… something that made her heart stop beating and the air freeze in her lungs.
"Alvin?" she whispered in shock, her eyes widening.
He was kneeling on the ground, his jaw clutched between the hands of one of the Azvarin. His arms hung limply at his sides. Next to him lay a white mask and a sword with a sharp blade.
"Do you know him?" Meryl shouted, trying to cling to her fading courage, fear overwhelming her in the face of all the monsters. Despite her loud voice, Elina didn't seem to hear her. "Get away from him, you bastard!" she screamed, forgetting all her fears—her body even stopped trembling.
Elina ran toward Alvin when she saw the monster's hand nearing his eyes, as if it meant to rip them out. Suddenly, another monster appeared in front of her. Unlike the others, it stood upright, and in an instant, it delivered a strong kick to her stomach, sending her flying.
Elina felt as though her guts were about to burst from her mouth. Her body rolled in pain, and blood began to trickle from her, forming a thin line on the ground before pooling into a small puddle. Meryl threw a healing potion near Elina's head, then sprinted toward Alvin as fast as she could.
She didn't know him, but it seemed Elina did—she ran to save him. That was reason enough for Meryl to try to help. She planted her feet firmly and hurled the iron pipe toward the monster's head. It pierced through it, and the creature collapsed to the ground.
But before she could even catch her breath, a strong blow struck her in the side, sending her crashing violently into something hard. The impact was brutal—her arm and part of her head seemed to shatter.
"Meryl!" Elina screamed, seeing blood pouring from Meryl's head, her eyes fixed and unblinking—as if her soul had already left her body.
"No!" she cried, trying to rise. She pushed herself up on her hands and knees, only to fall again from the searing pain in her stomach. "Damn it!"
A pair of feet stopped beside her—no, not feet. They looked more like two giant toes. Suddenly, someone grabbed her chin and lifted her head forcefully, bringing her face close to the monster's—eyes golden laced with black. His breath was foul, his grip on her jaw merciless, and nausea swelled inside her, stirring a flood of overwhelming emotion in her heart.
A cold shiver like ice coursed through her body, making her heart race wildly. The creature tilted its head, its sunken eyes locked onto hers. Elina felt her mind slowly emptying, thoughts fleeing, her grip on reality fading. Everything began to blur—even her ability to comprehend what was happening around her.
Above, in the dark sky where stars hid behind clouds, circular creatures moved. In the center of each one was a giant eye, staring down at the scene below. From behind the monster, a pair of wings emerged—covered in a transparent, violet-tinged membrane, powerful enough to support its weight.
Suddenly, a dim light appeared. It intensified rapidly, forming a thin line that expanded into a glowing blue rectangle. In its center, a phrase appeared…

As the words lit up on the digital screen, Elina stared into the monster's eyes with a blank mind. She knew nothing... not even simple questions like: Who am I? Where am I? Her mind was completely empty.
Meryl aimed her weapon at the monster's head—the one holding Elina. Lifting her body slightly off the ground despite the pain in her side, she fired a shot straight at its skull. Relief washed over her when she saw it stagger, blood spilling from the bullet wound. She pushed herself to stand, determined to fight, especially since most of the monsters had suddenly gone still. She grabbed the iron pipe again, her legs trembling.
Within moments, she felt strength surge through her body, and her wounds healed. In her heart, she silently thanked the planet "The Last Minstrel" for granting her the healing ability. Then, with a swift motion, she struck one of the creatures in the neck, knocking it to the ground.
[Don't try to kill them—you're too weak for that. Go wake the sleeping boy over there!]
A message from The Last Minstrel appeared on the screen.
Meryl glanced at the message and smirked sarcastically, then immediately sprinted toward Alvin, who sat motionless, eyes empty, staring into nothingness.
"You're right—I can't kill them!" Meryl said.
[You're a healer, and the healer stays in the back. Fighting is not your role,] the planet explained, then added when it sensed that its words had hurt her feelings, [Your strength lies in saving your friends from death.]
Meryl nodded in understanding, then looked down at Alvin's seemingly unconscious face and asked, "How do I wake this guy up?"
[Slap him.]
Without hesitation, her palm landed hard on his cheek, tilting his head sharply to one side from the force. Suddenly, she saw his green pupils shrink, and his head snapped toward her. His hand grabbed her arm with startling speed.
Meryl felt the pressure in her chest spike under his gaze, as if her throat might be slit at any second. She quickly said, "My friend!" then pointed at Elina, surrounded by monsters, and added, "Plea
se save her—she's in danger!"
But… how could one person possibly defeat dozens of monsters that were fast and sharp-sensed?
