Chapter 11 - RONGER CHAPTER 11 :The GATHERING STORM

alex lost consciousness and fell into Sam's hands.

"What, kid?! You played well! Leave the checkmate to us!" Sam said with a grin, his voice filled with admiration.

Xander rushed over to check Alex's condition. Just then, the heavy doors swung open, and a woman entered the room. Every guard immediately bowed and stepped aside, her presence commanding silent respect. She walked straight to Alex, kneeling beside him as a soft, golden glow emanated from her hands, seeping into his unconscious form. Slowly, his breathing steadied.

Gwen, Rachel, and Ben watched anxiously. Sam turned to them and reassured, "It's okay, guys. He used a powerful technique, so he just fainted."

Xander's sharp gaze caught the damp stains on their clothes. He raised an eyebrow. "Who poured a drink on you?"

Gwen pointed at a girl across the room. Sam nodded knowingly. "It was Alex's choice. Let's leave it be."

After healing Alex, Xander carefully lifted him and placed him on a soft bed. Then, he walked to the counter and ordered, "Bourbon, old mix."

The woman stepped behind the bar, effortlessly assuming the bartender's role. With fluid precision, she opened a lower cabinet filled with liquor, selecting bottles with an expert's touch. As she mixed the drink, each motion exuded a practiced finesse, making it look effortless. Gwen, Rachel, and Ben watched in awe, mesmerized by her skill.

She placed a glass in front of Xander and poured one for herself. As she watched Xander take a sip, her gaze landed on the ring glinting on his finger.

"You're still grieving over her?! You have a kid now! He needs you!" she scolded, her voice laced with frustration.

Xander didn't flinch. He simply took another sip, his expression unreadable. "No one can replace Anna. We're fine on our own."

She frowned, her fingers tightening around her glass. "Why are you still holding onto her?"

Sam grabbed a bottle and sat beside Xander, drinking straight from it.

Seeing this, she scoffed. "Seriously, Sam? Are you both going to drown in grief forever?"

"No, we're just drinking alcohol," Sam said with a smirk, taking another sip.

She let out an exasperated laugh. "You guys are unbelievable!" She turned back to Xander. "This idiot still wears the ring and the clothes she bought him! And you—" she gestured at Sam "—you've even stopped acting like a normal man. Look at you! Your hair's a mess, and you act like a rugged, careless fool."

She rolled her eyes. "Come on, Sam. Be honest with yourself. Stop acting like this—it's going to kill you."

A heavy silence filled the air. Everyone in that room had lost someone… but one had to move on eventually.

Xander took a deep breath, his fingers tightening around his glass. "When everyone was watching and waiting for my name and achievements… I was worthless."

His eyes darkened as he looked at her. "She only wanted to see my smile. All she asked from me was my hand, my attention, my love. I have my clan, my power, my family… but none of it can replace her warmth. Every second without her makes me crumble."

His voice broke. "How am I supposed to live? At least in death, I could meet her again…"

Then he looked at Alex and whispered, "Our love… our son… Alex. He's the reason I'm still breathing."

She fell silent, her heart aching as she saw the tears in Xander's eyes. Gwen and Ben watched in stunned silence. Sam silently handed Xander the bottle. Xander took it and drank deeply.

"I was an orphan… I had no one," Xander muttered. "She was my first friend. The only family I ever had. Like a mother to me… my everything."

Sam exhaled, his grip on his bottle tightening. "I won't hold back anymore. Alex… he resembles her. Even the way he calls me…"

Xander wiped his tears and turned serious. "Inform the Brave family. I'm calling a summit. Every family member must attend. In one month , I want them all here. Warn them about the blasts—this time, I'll kill the ones behind it myself."

Meanwhile, Alex stirred awake and sat on the sofa. Gwen and Ben immediately ran to him.

"Alex, that was awesome! Where did you get that sword?" Ben asked excitedly.

Alex nodded, stretching. "I learned it at my grandfather's place. He gave it to me."

Gwen smacked him on the head. "How could you be so careless?! What if something happened to you?"

Alex laughed nervously, scratching his head. "The situation was tight—I had no other option."

Xander chuckled. "Good job, Captain. You did well."

Alex blushed and laughed. Sam walked up to him. "Why are you still on guard? Even though we're here?"

Alex looked at him seriously. "I feel like dropping my guard… but I can't. Not while my enemies still have their weapons raised."

Sam ruffled Alex's hair and started tickling him. Alex burst into helpless laughter.

Xander smirked and looked at the woman. "We should get going."

She walked up to Alex and smiled. "Nice to meet you, kid. I'm Harmony Brave Light Sandar—your father's cousin. You can call me Aunt."

Alex looked at Xander. "Hello! I'm Alexander Cane Forster!"

Sam nodded. "That's it for introductions. We'll be heading out now."

Sam walked out with the children, Xander and Ethan following behind. As Xander passed Harmony, he said, "Athina is with me now. She has family."

Harmony nodded and smiled. "Please take care of her."

Xander returned the smile. "You've done well, Harmony."

In the following days, Alex, Ben, Gwen, and Athina roamed the city, laughing and playing, exploring their surroundings. Alex was gradually adapting to life on Earth. Xander and Sam guided them in reading and writing, while Ethan personally trained Alex and Ben in hand-to-hand combat.

Amber adored the children, especially Alex. He often rested his head on her lap and fell asleep. John and Amber had grown deeply attached to the kids, and she loved taking them outside. She smiled more than ever when she was with them.

Every morning, they visited different places and tourist spots, returning to the dining table to discuss their experiences. Xander listened to the kids' excited chatter, though his mind remained distant, clouded with distraction.

Like every day, they relished the moment. But as the kids went up to their room, a heavy tension settled over the dining table. Amber sat beside John, her curiosity growing.

"What's going on? I've never seen John in such an angry mood before," Amber thought. She raised an eyebrow at Sam.

Sam merely shrugged, his expression unreadable.

"Xander! I have a question for you! But before that…" Silence filled the room again.

"The city is filling up with higher officials and all the big shots, including the Extraterrestrial Defense Bureau head. Everyone is talking about one thing—'A Meeting of Trinity.'"

"Anonymous… powerful… unpredictable… From what I heard, the heirs of Trinity!"

Sam looked around, feigning ignorance. Amber gripped her fork and knife tightly. "Xander! Listen carefully! If you're involving the kids in this, remember—I won't be holding back. I am also an S-rank hunter! But ever since that tragedy, I've been trying to live a normal life!"

She shot a sharp glare at Xander and Sam. "Are you planning—?"

Xander laughed. "Actually, I want to say something about it! Right, Sam?"

Sam nodded. "I'm thinking of Alex, Ben, Gwen, and Athina as the heirs of Trinity."

Amber set down her fork and spoon and clasped her hands, suppressing her anger. "Let's talk about every part of it."
