Deaths Covenant is a poem i wrote during a dark time (ironic since all my poems seem that way) but its also my favorite poem that ive ever written and i hope it becomes one of yours
Beneath the earth, the roots entwine,
Worms feast upon flesh and bone.
Bodies grows forever colder,
This is the beautiful face of death.
No memories remain, no song plays,
Just soil which swallows what once was.
A rattling cough, a fleeting pulse,
Silence grows, heavy and dull.
Bones crumble, marrow rots,
Soon YOU'LL 2 be forgotten.
The graveyard hums its haunting tune,
Under a cloak of darkness
Yet still you claw, you fight, you bleed. You wish 2 delay
yet The end comes with speed.
A promise is kept, a debt long owed now paid in full
The grave makes another beggar but this time of you.
So fear not death, but instead its slow descent,
For none can outrun its cold embrace.
A promise Death, shall forever keep.
