Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Cleansing the Village

Amidst the night.

Smelling the stench in the air, the two hid in the backyard of a stone house.

Alyris was hiding on the rooftop.

Kana, in the center of the yard, nodded to Alyris under the moonlight.

At this moment, he held the Prince's Sword in one hand, and a thick board was strapped to his left arm.

This board served as his makeshift shield.

Successfully activated the effect of the Thunder Spear Guard Medal (Silver).

His current constitution attributes.

[Constitution: 6]+1

Due to his weak constitution, any slight improvement was noticeably significant.

The feeling of ear ringing came through.

Kana immediately moved slightly and then paused.

Such disconnected, sudden movements would convey information, but the giant bats couldn't discern it.

Neither ghouls nor giant bats are smart, one could say they lack any intelligence.

The squad that just used sonic waves to scout will definitely come to check.

Indeed.

One could hear the flapping wings of the giant bat, and at this moment, it was flying at low altitude, just slightly higher than the rooftop.

Two ghouls were rushing swiftly.

Against the wall.

One ghoul happened to stand by the wall, exposing half of its body in a probing manner.

Sword light slashed.

The head soared high.

This sword was indeed sharp.

With this swing, Kana instantly exposed himself and raised the broken board, pressing it directly against the other ghoul behind the previous one.

Caught off guard, he was knocked directly to the ground.

In mid-air, the giant bat let out a cry and swooped down from the sky.

Before its claws could land on Kana, weight was felt from its back.

Instantly slanting, before it could adjust and see the situation, a sword pierced straight through its head.

Its body collapsed, only its muscles instinctively struggling.

The body crashed directly onto the ground.

Before it hit the ground, Alyris had already jumped off of the corpse, landing next to Kana and piercing through the struggling ghoul's head with a sword.

This scouting squad was resolved in less than 10 seconds after arriving.

"We need to move quickly."

The commotion certainly alarmed others, as there was no storm tonight.

The sound of roars came through.

The two quickly relocatd.

As they moved through a house, Kana seemed to notice something and grabbed two forks and a dinner knife.

Upon emerging from the other side, a giant bat noticed and pursued them.

Just as the giant bat was about to cry, Alyris suddenly turned, in a throwing posture, and threw a piece of stone she picked up at some point.

The stone even made a whooshing sound in the air, heavily embedding into the giant bat's head.

Witnessing this, Kana halted directly.

"We won't leave."

Alyris was stronger than he expected after regaining her status.

This wasn't a game, these monsters aren't datafied, a hit to the head is a kill, instead of just losing a hit point bar.

There's no hit point bar to deplete here, every weak point hit provides a huge advantage.

Two ghouls rushed from both sides.

The one heading towards Alyris had its head split open even before it began attacking.

The one charging at Kana was kicked away by Alyris with a swift turn.

Upon landing, its head was pierced by a stone.

Kana stood still throughout.

"Your Highness, are you alright?"

"Uhh... I'm fine."

Forget about sneak tactics, what strategy is needed here?

They should just steamroll through.

Reality's level overpower is much more outrageous than in games.

Comparing mentally, Kana began to slowly shift his impressions from the game.

"Awooo!"

A wolf howl, a shadow leapt from a rooftop more than ten meters away towards them.

Following it were two ghouls and one giant bat.

"Leave the werewolf and bat to you, I'll handle the two ghouls."

Saying this, Kana handed Alyris the dinner knife he had just grabbed.

Without waiting for Alyris to inquire, he said directly: "This knife is silver, it can restrain that werewolf."

Then he immediately jumped back.

Alyris had no time to think and proceeded.

She threw stones to knock down the giant bat, though this time didn't precisely hit the head.

The damage dealt was sufficient to bring down the bat.

Grasping the longsword, she directly faced the shadow.

Is this a werewolf, then?

Alyris had never seen a werewolf, nor even heard of one.

But the creature facing her was clearly a werewolf, possessing a wolf's head, resembling an upright wolf with distinct stitching scars.

Not having encountered such monsters before when escaping, Alyris didn't know how powerful it was.

She forcefully swung the sword.

The werewolf seemed to sense danger, immediately crossing its hands.

With the metallic clash noise.

The sword struck the werewolf's forearm guard.

"Strong, but slightly weaker than me," Alyris concluded.

Without hesitation, she forcefully pressed down.

Immediately pushing the werewolf back two steps.

Quickly retracting her sword, bending, she charged into the werewolf's chest.

The werewolf was about two meters tall, significantly taller than Alyris.

Charging forward, the sword handle bashed against the werewolf's chin.

The entire process flowed smoothly, with remarkable speed.

The sword blade made a small cut, leaving a wound on the werewolf's waist and abdomen. With a roll on the spot, she avoided the downward paw strike.

Standing up again.

Alyris made her judgment.

Strong, agile, fur and skin tougher than she thought, but its combat skills seem chaotic, relying purely on instinct.

Considering other blood race monsters, its recovery ability should be strong too.

Must be a one-hit kill.

During this moment, Alyris didn't idle; she picked up a stone while rolling and threw it once more at the giant bat attempting to flap its wings.

This time, accurately pierced its head.

This action thoroughly enraged the werewolf.

It's a complete provocation, a sign of disregard. It howled, rushing directly forward.

Appears to be easily angered.

Stepping back to dodge the forward lunge, the sword swung sideways, hacking at the werewolf's paw.

The claws were extremely hard, sparks flew upon impact.

Alyris kicked the werewolf's chest with force, causing it to stagger backwards.

Stepping forward, she swiftly thrust the sword blade precisely through the werewolf's chest.

Considering the probable recovery abilities of these monsters, she pulled out the dinner knife from behind her waist.

She believed Kana's words, without hesitation, plunging the dinner knife straight into the werewolf's chest.

"Ahhh!"

The werewolf let out a howl far louder than before with the knife's insertion.

Alyris seized the opportunity, kicked with force, pushing the knife, blade and handle deep into the wound; meanwhile retracting the sword.

The werewolf wildly clawed at its own chest, roaring in agony, utterly unable to fight.

Is it really this effective?

Alyris couldn't believe its efficacy, but no longer hesitated. Moving forward, the sword traced a semi-circle, decapitating the helpless werewolf.

Turning to the other side.

Just in time to see Kana smash the remaining ghoul to the ground with his shield and then slashing its head off.

Kana noticing Alyris had also finished the battle without much injury.

They didn't expect to cleanse the entire village in such a short time.

We are quite formidable.

Standing and approaching the wolf's corpse.

By the moonlight, he examined its chest.

There the dinner knife was inserted, surrounded by marks resembling acid corrosion.

Retrieving the knife, handing it back to Alyris.

"Your Highness, how did you know its weak spot?"

Alyris couldn't help but ask, without the silver dinner knife, the battle wouldn't be so easily resolved.

At the very least, several more rounds would be needed for a decisive sword kill.

Kana, while removing the werewolf's arm guards, replied casually upon hearing this.

"These monsters are actually the palace's doing, the source of the problem is the royal family's conspiracy."

"What?" Alyris was visibly shocked.
