Chapter 1 - Myriad Hoop of Hours [0]

A girl patiently stood still at the center of blooming flowers around her. She hummed a calm song to ease her nerves and hopefully slow the beating of her heart.

"What if I mess it up?" She spoke "What if I stutter my words? Ah. I'm so nervous my breathing is becoming quite ragged."

The girl had given a love letter to her crush which was telling him to meet her at the school garden, and now she waits anxiously in the middle of the beautiful flowers.

"Mm hmm hmmm..." She continued humming a song to calm her heart.

Ever since her sister taught her how to hum when she's anxious, she's made a habit out of it and now does it by instinct whenever she's nervous.

The sound of footsteps suddenly made her stop humming, and when she turned toward the sound, her face brightened up as she recognized who it was.

It was him. The same person who defended her multiple times from bullies, the same person who's been helping her understand the hard lessons, the same person who she looks up to, and the same person she's fallen in love with.

"I'm glad you came..." She said while hiding her hands behind her back.

"This letter..." He showed her the love letter.

"Yep, that's mine!" She joyfully confirmed his suspicions.

"I see..." He said, seemingly troubled. He approached the girl, his face full of bitterness and regret as he did so, but he was ready to hear what the girl was gonna say.

"So uh..." The girl twiddled her thumbs behind her back. The girl desperately tried to get words out of her mouth, to confess what she felt about him, to tell him how much she loved him and how much she wanted to be with him.

"I-!"

And just as the girl was finally about to confess...

"I apologize. I can't reciprocate your feelings." The guy bowed his head, not wanting to hear the girl's confession after all; he knew what she was about to say, so he decided to turn it down right before she could say it.

"But...-huh...? That's... Unfair... You're un...fair..." The girl said as her breathing became ragged; she clutched her chest as tears started to fall from her eyes, hurt by what he had just done.

He didn't even let her finish; he didn't even let her express her feelings, and he didn't even let her have the beauty of confessing and getting rejected gracefully. Instead, he shut her down right before she could get anything out. A sad ending for the girl. And as she cried abundantly in the school garden, the guy profusely apologized, but... It didn't have any effect at all.

"I-I knew you would say that! I knew you would... R-Reject me but still...!" She struggled to get out the words as her breathing was ragged from the pain her heart was feeling. She ran away from the garden, away from him, to hide and cry her heart out.

Later on that day, the planet Earth would rotate clockwise from the perspective of the north pole and counterclockwise from the perspective of the south pole.
