*Chapter One*
Makin who knew his wife disgusting behaviour decided to unmount from the bed and quick reach out for water from the water pot sitted in our corners of the room. He reached out for his side pouch, Cutlass while he has his dirty and sticken local brush hung in his mouth.
Immediately, he set out for the farm and his side pouch makes sounds in rhythm to his footsteps.
On his way to the farm, he get continuously dizzy. He got to the shield of the baobab tree at the crossroad of the village, he sat down lazily to continue his disturbed sleep. He dozed off gradually until he finally slept off under the tree. Makin went straight into a dream. He dreamed that he was about given a diamond worth a fortune and as he was to collect it a fairy came from nowhere and snatched it. He woke up suddenly in a rush as if longing to reach out for the diamond. Ohhhhh! He said to himself. " It was all a dream"
After much thought of how he could not get the diamond from his sleep, he stood up suddenly and as he lifted his pouch, he found a gourd . He picked it up look in it and discovered a shinny object inside the gourd. Makin quickly remembered his dream and said to himself that this must the diamond he was almost given in the dream. He tried to bring the shinny object out from the gourd but all no avail. He also tried to break the gourd but the gourd remain unbreakable. After much stress over breaking it and all to no success, he decided to see the village diviner as it must have been a mysterious gourd which need metaphysical powers to be broken . He quickly dashed off in awe to the diviner's house while he left his pouch and other of his belongings right under the baobab tree at the village crossroad.
